Ordered a cubano with a side of slaw. The pulled pork had very little flavor. The pickles were just cucumbers that might have walked past vinegar but declined to partake. The mustard was yellowish, but tasted like mayo. The bread was warm I guess but not toasted let alone pressed and grilled. The ham and Swiss were inoffensive. The slaw was nearly flavorless--no salt, no acid, just cabbage and other rough chopped veggies with some heat on it. Cashier was very nice. 17 bucks plus tip (plus "upgrade" for the slaw).

A lot of options to eat, good vibe and outdoor seating. Good spot to check

Hard to find with only a small sign in the window. It is located in a coffee bar. The food was good. Order at the counter and food is brought to table. I went with 3 friends and we enjoyed our shared meal. Minus one star because I was overcharged and not given the happy hour price for the item I ordered.

My son and I stopped by on our way to a Warriors game. We actually walked past this place because we only saw a sign for Plant Cafe, they share a building. The place is clean and spacious. We went to the cashier and placed our order. I had the Veggie Estofado (v, GF) Rich Peruvian-style stew of green beans, brocolli, yams and gold potatoes, topped with fresh bell pepper, red onions and Peruvian corn, served with sofrito black beans and Brazilian rice. My son had Chancho Braseado Tender Cuban-style braised pork shoulder, finished on the grill with tangy caramelized onions; served with Peruvian tacu tacu (seared rice and beans), grilled corn on the cob and organic mixed greens. We also ordered Pao De Quejo (GF) House-made toasted cheese popovers, crunchy on the outside, gooey on the inside, absolutely delicious and baked fresh in 15 minutes. My son enjoyed his Chancho plate and although Veggie Estofado was tasty, it was served lukewarm, disappointing. My black beans were unseasoned, but they did offer me salt and pepper. I did not use either, thinking it would be seasoned. The Pao De Quejo were uniquely tasty, my son nailed it, he said they tasted like fresh baked cheez its.

First time trying Peruvian food, it was is okay, seems little pricey. I don’t know if it’s normal for Peruvian to be little salty but, it was little bit salty for my taste. Mango drinks is nice.

Came here for the second time for a casual dinner after school toddler pickup. We sat outside in their pretty spacious area back area. It's super easy and casual, and I love how there's many options since the space is shared with Plant. The casualness of the dining experience is perfect for us since we usually have our toddler and newborn in tow.The menu has many great options; we enjoyed the chicken, pork belly, paella and Mac n cheese. All were excellent. We were especially surprised by how tasty the truffle Mac n cheese was and the paella was so very flavorful - one of the best we've had in the states. The sangria was also delicious and was a generous pitcher. The waitress overheard that our toddler had celebrated her upcoming birthday at school that day with cupcakes - towards the end of dinner, the waitress came and asked me if it was OK that they bring out a slice of tres leches on the house for her. It was a sweet gesture and very kind. They brought out a slice with a little candle and sang happy birthday to her. Very thoughtful and sweet! Overall a great dining experience and lovely meal, with delicious Peruvian food. Would recommend and will come again!

The ambiance is pretty unremarkable at Artesano but this worked well for me and my husband on this particular evening because we were dressed very scrubby. We had big plans to go have dinner at Wooly Pig but Wooly Pig was "surprisingly" closed for the long weekend. Anyway, I'm surprised this place doesn't have a higher rating. I have been to several Peruvian restaurants in SF and the food here is the best. The food is exceptional. We got the yucca fries (crispy with delicious aji amarillo sauce), churrasco criollo (served with this incredible rice and bean mixture), and salmon a lo macho (so much delicious seafood!!!). Literally every single bite was exceptional. Service was excellent and so friendly. They gave us an extra super hot Mexican hot sauce which we loved!

The good points are about the service and the food itself. Everybody is super friendly and accommodating, and the wine pours are fantastic. Opt for the Malbec from Argentina and the Cabernet from California if you drink wine. We started with the amazing empanadas. I got the chicken flavored and the beef flavored. The chicken flavor was divine with the yellow Peruvian sauce. It's always such a delight to have that sauce. I ended up with the Lomo Saltado, one of the best Lomo Saltado's I've ever had. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the peppers and onions were delicious with the soy sauce glaze and rice. My husband got the Chancho Braseado, a Cuban-style dish with corn and beans. It was really good! First time I've had it.Be forewarned that this place is pricy! I don't think it deserves five stars because while the food is excellent, they need to develop a better ambiance than just a coffee shop by day with couches and light wooden tables by night. I understand it's in the Plant coffee shop, but they need to upgrade their furniture for fine dining; everything looks like mismatched Ikea. We will be back for sure, but I hope the prices go down or the furniture is upgraded.

I ate here a while ago. The food was good and the space was comfortable. Would eat here again.

This place doesn't have accurate opening hours. Calling the waiter laughed at their incompetence of updating their opening hours to be accurate, glad I called ahead to avoid any negative experience here. Looks like cafeteria kibble at best.

There's no table service, you ordered first and later they deliver your food to your table. Love the decor. Food is delicious. The portion is big. Just randomly walked by and decided to try it.

Artesano, along 3rd Street (a bit south of THe Chase Center) in the Dogpatch neighborhood, is co-located with The Plant Cafe. Parking is tough along this corridor but that's the way it goes. They describe themselves as Brazilian/Latin cuisine. When I realized Artesano had Peruvian fare - game on! There is sunny, bright seating inside and outside but it looks looks like they do takeout very well. Ed helped me with my Lomo Saltado order and was very nice and answered all my questions. Ordered takeout of Lomo Saltado w/steak strips. Traditional stir fry with red onion, tomatoes, cilantro, soy sauce and house-made papas fritas; served with a side of Brazilian rice (Make with gluten-free soy sauce for $1.50). I liked it though it seems a tad dry but the flavors were all there and not overly salty. Rice freshly steamed was a good accompaniment to the stir fried Lomo Saltado. They also offer Lomo Saltado options like chicken, wild shrimp, combo steak/shrimp and tofu. The tofu Lomo Saltado is a great meatless option. So excited about finding Lomo Saltado that I forgot to order the ceviche. Peruvian ceviche is a must order for me with the fresh seafood and it's usually house marinated served with plantain or tortilla chips. They do options of red snapper, Wild shrimp, micro or all three. Will definitely remember to order this next time! Artesano has an extensive Latin menu I will be back to try!
