A trip to San Francisco doesn't go by without a stop at this, our favorite, small family-run Italian place in North Beach. The food is outstanding. No huge piles of pasta. No mass scale produced food. This is lovingly created by "mama" in the kitchen. The impossibly thin pizza crust is something very hard to find. The tomato sauce perfection. Pasta in house made. I could go on. Skip the large and mainstream touristed places and find this sweet secret treasure.

We chose Baonecci Ristorante to enjoy an authentic Italian meal. The restaurant was short-handed, which seems to be the norm during these pandemic times, but the staff did a great job taking care of customers. We started our meal with Bruschetta, which was very fresh and had a perfect balance of tomatoes, garlic, and basil. For entrees, we had the meat ravioli with bolognese sauce, which was absolutely delicious. Home made, as is everything there, with the perfect balance of sauce to complement the pasta. We also had the Arrabbiata, which was also very delicious, but very spicy, as advertised. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual. Definitely recommended for authentic, Northern Italian cuisine.

The ORIGINAL pizza from Italy in USA. I have been walking around looking for the Italian experience in USA, but I haven't any success until yesterday. This pizza is exactly like the one that you can have in Rome, or, the BEST PIZZA IN THE WORLD. Baonecci serve the best Italian pizza in USA, period.

The firmness of the pasta is perfect! The lasagna melts in your mouth. The thin-crust pizza has so much flavor and I can't stop putting slices in my mouth! My boyfriend came to carb-load for the marathon tomorrow, and the food was so good that he forgot how nervous he was for the marathon!

Nice family restaurant, with a good menu. We got the carpaccio, and two pizzas. Everything tasted good, and we enjoyed our meal, but it also didn't blow us away. Liked the atmosphere and would come back.

Hands down the best Italian food we've had. This place is owned and ran by a Tuscan family. One of the sons was our waiter. They also make the wine they serve. Prices are reasonable and ambiance perfect for all occasions.

Such an underrated pizzeria, can’t believe I missed it so far! The staff here told us that these are Florence based pizzas. We tried the Margarita and Funghi and they were very thin crust and just amazing. Staff is friendly and the service is very quick. They also have a hand sanitizer on each table.

Everything we ordered was delicious we started with the brischetta and had the lasagna and the meat in pork ravioli they were delicious Would give this a 10 star would definitely go back the pizzas looked amazing thinking of trying a pizza the next time
Great authentic italian food! very fresh and great taste, def try their pizza if u like thin pizza, its a little pricy compares to some of the other restaurants but its def worth a try if you are looking for great quality italian food

We were walking around North Beach and found this place. This was the best restaurant meal we have had in a long time. Everything was delicious! The service as excellent. We will be sure to come back on our next visit to SF. In these COVID times it is hard to get great food and great service. This place provides both. Be sure to call for a reservation.

North beach is filled with great Italian places - but this one provides a very authentic Italian experience with their food preparation and service. Our server also taught us how to pronounce bruschetta correctly (I wonder how I was so confident before). Their menu has a great list of wines/beers - something to checkout when you're there

We had an amazing meal at Baonecci. The service was great - our waiter made wonderful recommendations, despite all of it being his mama's cooking ;). Highly recommend the house salad, pesto tagliatelle, and the Monte Bianco pizza was phenomenal. Will absolutely be back.

What a GEM!! A cute small family owned and run restaurant. Everything was excellent from food to service. My friend and I felt like we entered this place and were taken to a little piece of Italy. It's quieter than most places which we appreciate and our server took the time to talk with us and each one of his tables. I was able to notice a lot of very happy return customers while we were there. I'll be one too from now on! Give this place a try!
