Got dinner from Berliner Berliner last night. Ate it next door at Toronado. Food is excellent. German comfort food with great vegetarian and vegan options. The owner is very nice and ran a bowl of soup over to my table at the bar.

Lol very fun strange vibe felt very organically lower Haight if you know what I mean. Everything is great I did come on a Tuesday recently and I guess it's cheeseburger day so I ordered one and it in fact was very good and she randomly gave me a cookie.

I went by at noon on a Thursday because I had heard so much about this place. I wanted to get some take out and go home with it. I waited at the door until 12:15 and the place never opened. No lights came on inside, there was no sign that anyone was inside at all. The prominent sign on the front door says that they open at noon on Thursday...I gave up and went across the street to Memphis Minnie instead. I really wanted some German sausage but hot links was nearest approximation.I'm just guessing at a star rating, I admit. Maybe they'll be open the next time I'm here.
Burger was disappointing, especially given the rave reviews. I found the bun to be dry and the patty to be tough (not overcooked, just over-mixed or over-compacted or something.) Toppings were very good though.The warm pretzel was also similarly disappointing, dry and hard. I'm a fiend for warm pretzels and I threw most of it away :/I look forward to trying this place again for a sausage and hopefully updating my review to be more positive.

Everything was overcooked. Might be the cook but not a good meal. I asked for a brat and I got this chopped up tiny sausage. Potato salad used to be a lot better.
