I had the luck of being able to get a last second reservation there recently and was completely blown away by the experience. The food alone had me wanting to replicate the dishes and techniques at home, even the glazed carrot dish was an artform. The staff were amazing in attentiveness and even the vibe made me forget I was in the middle of a major city.

Birdsongsf has a good sommelier and Chateau des Eyrins 2016 paired well with our food. Unfortunately, we are disappointed with the following: quail (undercooked and meat is bloody, my bf just took a bite), bbq carrot (burnt, my bf just took a bite), and the aged pork radicchio (tough, chewy). My favorite are: abalone, cornbread caviar walnuts, broth of grilled bones, and the desserts. Neutral for others. It was a good experience, good ambiance and servers are good. However, overall, it was disappointing since it is a 2 star Michelin restaurant. We went to Birdsongsf on Dec. 30, 2023. I will not recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

One of my favorite restaurants in SF. Exciting, New American cuisine with a strong seafood and meat component - they don't shy away from strong flavors here. Definitely sit at the counter if possible to watch the kitchen in action. The neighborhood it's in is gritty, but the restaurant feels like a cocoon that transports you away to a land of superlative food.

Birdsong has two Michelin stars and is accordingly pricy, yet if you like food as entertainment, which I occasionally do, this should be on your must go list in San Francisco. Food was fantastic, service awesome and the space really cool.

We celebrated our anniversary at Birdsong couple of days back. The food, presentation, synchronized service - everything was impeccable! The restaurant was so thoughtful to also gift us a hand written anniversary card. Perfect for celebrating your special occasion!

This is probably one of my top favorite restaurants. Definitely top 10. I loved everything on the menu even things I normally don't like (squab and lamb) were amazing. While it was not super difficult to get a reservation, we did visit the restaurant on a weekday with the first seating. If I'm back in the area, I will definitely come back.

In my opinion there are many instances where I enjoy meals at 2 Michelin Star restaurants over 3. Birdsong is easily one of my top meals, very much enhanced by the ambiance and service. It was my birthday so I was very excited to eat with a view of the kitchen and the cooking hearth, and got to see each course being prepared with precision. Each course got me excited for what would come out next. The foie gras cream puff and the cornbread and caviar dishes were easily my favorite of the night. We opted to get a half bottle of a red and a white to compliment certain courses instead of a full wine pairing, which definitely felt like good choice. We finished our meal with a pour over coffee (which came with a warm chocolate cookie), and were surprised by make your own sundae bar for dessert for my birthday.Overall a very special meal and we would definitely come back in the future.

Been lucky to come here twice! Both times for our anniversary, which means the same time of year. Probably would have been to try their menus from different seasons. However, the uni cream puff and the cornbread with caviar have been mainstays on the menu, and they are definitely the highlights! I wish I could have just one more bite. They switched up a bit how to eat the squab from last year to this year. Both still good. I deduced this year that for celebrating anniversaries, they give you an extra souffle (we received both years), and for birthdays, they give a birthday sundae (which we saw other people receive). The souffle is actually reallly phenomenal. yum!
