My first experience at this restaurant was not so bad. The steak was beautifully seasoned, brussels sprouts were flavorful crispy and tender, etc. However, going back again, it was a different story. The $68 16-ounce steak was barely seasoned at all, and a very large portion of it was completely fat. It was really shocking to me that it would've been served that way. The sautéed octopus was tough, the calamari was chewy and not fresh, and the brussels sprouts were barely cooked at all. So, although I had hopes for this restaurant, I will not be going back. There seems to be a real absence of any upper level management on site. But the bottom line is that the food was simply not good. I won't comment on the service, except to say that the buspersons were extraordinary, and definitely made up for the shortcomings of some of the wait staff.

Short and sweet . . . fantastic service, warm and welcoming atmosphere, delicious dinner and very generous servings. We were a party of 4 and we did make reservations ahead of time. On the way to the restaurant, my husband realized he'd left his phone at home. I called the restaurant to ask them if it would mess up their seating schedule if we were 10 minutes late (time enough to circle back to pick up his phone). Whoever it was that answered the phone was not only said that would be no problem at all, but she was so sweet and charming doing so. This warmth by the entire staff continued through our entire evening. I don't know if this is the usual way that the staff here works, but we must have had 6 different people at our table through the evening and every single one of them was as gracious as the next. I'm not talking about stiff feigned courtesy . . . the staff here was genuinely warm and welcoming. It was also clearly evident that they all liked each other too - - - very apparent that they worked as a team to give their diners a great evening. Speaking of great evening . . . Everything we had was delicious and cooked to perfection. Starters: - the calamari was fantastic. Cooked tender, moist yet crispy. - truffle fries were hot, fresh and good but not very truffle-y Dinner: - short ribs: fork tender and delicious. Came with a huge bone but disappointed that there was no marrow. Minor detail though b/c the sauce and mash were wonderfully rich. - burger: cooked perfectly and came with another bin of fried (can never have too many fries) - meatballs w/ bucatini: meatballs were tender and moist. Pasta cooked perfectly. - lamb: cooked to perfection. Mustard sauce was nice but I did miss something like a mint jelly/marmalade. All entrees were enjoyed for lunch the next day b/c the servings were so very generous. Delicious dinner in such a welcoming atmosphere made for a perfect evening.

I went to this restaurant without any expectations but the food, service and quality of experience was one of the best I've had in San Francisco. Our server Ayhan was phenomenal and a one of a kind server. Actually came here to write a review just so I could mention his service here too! Thank you Blind butcher for the amazing food and Ayhan for the unforgettable service!

Had my 30th birthday dinner there and thought I was gonna be over dressed by wearing a suit and i actually wasn't. The curb appeal of this place has no comparison to the spacious vibrant atmosphere on the inside. The vibe from the live dj and food paired with wine was a phenomenal experience !

The blind butcher was soooo delicious. Everything from the ambiance to the food was perfect!! We celebrated my bday there and had a table of 4 so we shared the chefs board and it was perfect.

The Blind Butcher is usually busy and a reservation would be a great idea. The spot is the perfect size but unfortunately that means get your spot before it’s gone. I personally don’t mind eating at the bar at places because you usually don’t have to wait and it’s good way to slip into the foodie spots. On this night we had the 16oz Ribeye with mashed potatoes and a kale salad. For desert Tiramisu and Copa(which was a rich chocolate mousse type thing with toasted pistachios on top). The Copa was awesomeness! On other visits I’ve tried the roasted potatoes, Brussels sprouts as sides and they have not disappointed either. For a date night check it out!Parking: Parking is limited but not impossible. Depending on time of day and what day will be huge factors in this areaKid-friendliness: I would leave the kiddos at home for this adventure, Date Nite approvedWheelchair accessibility: Accessible and welcomed but you definitely would want to call ahead

I love the Prime Ribeye steak at Blind Butcher a lot; it is big enough to split with someone which is what we did. Things started out great, in addition to the steak we ordered 3 side/starters which came out on time and we good, although the fried calamari were a bit tough this time; chewy but tasty. The burrata and prosciutto dish was great and the arugula salad also good. We then waited over 30 minutes after our initial dishes were cleared for our steak, they apologized and added an order of Brussel sprouts (which were a bit under cooked) for the delay but how long does it take to cook a steak? We asked for it to be between medium and medium rare and it finally came out still bloody; we had to send it back and then it was fine. I usually do not go on about this stuff but this time I needed to say something.

Overall experience with this establishment was OK. It's not something that I would come back to on the monthly basis. The food presentation was beautiful. The taste and smell I would give it. A three star drinks were overly poured with alcohol not enjoyable. The customer service was OK.
