Cafe Bakery is the place for cha shu bao pork buns. Flavorful, lean and not overly sweet. Until discovering here, I was getting to dislike cha shu bow over the years. But now, we pick up a bunch whenever in the neighborhood for friends and families. Many who does not care for cha shu bow may not have ate a good one. We got lucky.

I only discovered this restaurant because my mom brought a to-go order home. It was a Baked Chicken with Portuguese Sauce that left such an impression that I had to bookmark and visit in person. We managed to stop in on a Saturday night, just before closing time at 8:00PM. The place was packed but we were able to get seated with 30 minutes to spare. It's a no frills restaurant with traditional Hong Kong cafe options. Most meals come with soup, veggies, rice, AND dessert! Each dish is not 10/10 crazy good but it will surely leave you satisfied.

Cozy, clean restaurant. I ordered the Pork Chops? with Grilled Onions. It came with two slices of delicious ? pork chops, crunchy on the outside moist & tender on the inside. Topped it off with a huge portion of grilled onions. Absolutely delicious meal!

Cafe Bakery & Restaurant is a great place for a traditional Hong Kong cafe style meal. The place retains that classic "cha chaan tang" ambiance which is sort of like the Hong Kong version of a Western diner. The service is generally quite nice and friendly here.As for the food here, the prices have gone up quite a bit over the years as with many other establishments with their daily specials being around $18 on my most recent visit. Each day comes with two options for the special each of which comes with soup, jello, and refillable coffee or milk tea. They used to offer a dinner bun as well but that is unfortunately no longer included. I do find it quite nice that they do refill the drink though and the soup is quite tasty. The meals themselves are huge in portion. I wouldn't say the food is anything spectacular to write home about but for those who grew up on this style of food, it hits the spot just right as a comfort food. Most dishes come with a choice of spaghetti or rice and I haven't had a disappointing experience with any of their options. Expect to leave this place quite full. Do note though that takeout containers cost a slight fee if you do end up with leftovers to take to go.

They serve traditional and authentic HK food here! I had ox tongue in tomato source with spaghetti noodle, which was exactly how I’d like it! Super delish and really fix my craving for HK style food! The service was very prompt, attentive and friendly! They brought my milk tea and soup within seconds and my entree was followed minutes later! The restaurant is very clean, although the decor is bit dated (but expected)!

The amount is terrifying! It’s not enough for one person to finish, and there are unlimited refills of coffee and milk tea.

HK breakfast after Christmas Day was the best. We had not been back to restaurant for 15 years. We came early so it was quiet and nice. We ordered special of the day which were pork chops with onions on a bed of white rice or with true HK style, spaghetti, stewed oxtails on spaghetti, and spicy HK fried rice. All orders came with their signature milk tea. Muah!! They were delicious. Their tomato appetizer soup had not changed, as flavorful as ever. The food came with generous portions, which none of us could finish. The oxtail was so good that they chowed down before I could take picture. All of us ended up brown-bagged. The only disappointment was the 25c fee for each to-go box. It's a must to try here.

Plenty of parking around Noriega if you're willing to pay for parking. We went during dinner around 530 and took the gamble with sf meter parking. Service was fast and quick. Attentive for a Chinese restaurant as the real good Chinese restaurants typically have awful service. Food is comfort food. Reminds me of my true Chinese roots. Love it every time

A classic Hong Kong diner with favorites such as baked pork chop rice and Portuguese chicken. Everyday there is different special where you can choose from two entrees and you get a soup, drink, and jello dessert. I especially love their hk milk tea its rich and strong. Another favorite is the chicken wings and fries. The chicken is fresh out of the fried and comes to the table piping hot juicy and crispy. Know for their large portions you can easily share a couple mains between a group. If you're trying to stay away from so much carbs you can customize your dish to be served over veggies in place of rice or spaghetti. Still missing their freshly baked rolls as they were slightly sweet and fluffy but maybe I'll just have to learn to be a baker myself!

The menu here is extensive, so depending on what you order will probably change the rating. I've been here a few times, but also get take out a lot. It's a Hong Kong style cafe where almost all customers are older Asian people. All the dishes my bf gets are better than what I order. I would steer clear from the cream sauce dishes. The cream sauce is severely lacking in flavor. It just taste like thick milk so it needs seasoning and cheese. I wasn't expecting it to be top tier since this is a Chinese place, but def would not get again. On the bright side, there are many dishes so you can order until you find your favorites. You get a vegetable soup with your meal and orange jello. The portions are huge, so everyone will have leftovers. Def worth the price. It's not the best most amazing food, but it's what you expect.

Consistent food for many many many years. This restaurant has been at this location for so long I can't remember why I never got around to sharing the experience with everybody! From what I remember the service has always been pretty fantastic and quick. This restaurant seems to always be full for as many times I have patronized it. This occasion was no different, we had to wait a very short time to be seated. We ordered one of the daily specials which was curry pork chops. We started with a house soup of a vegetable variety. The only thing I missed was, I recall they used to serve a parker house roll which is not the case anymore, they were great. The pork chops were served slathered in curry sauce which was wonderful but required some white pepper to wake it up a little. My friend couldn't finish the meal, lol whimp. They always follow up the meal with a jello of some flavor, a good way to end a meal.I come here when I'm in the neighborhood because of the consistency of a good meal.
