The food is fresh. But I didn't eat in, I make a to go order , but the restaurant still charged me a tip, which is very unethical and a fraud. Although the amount is not much, I will not go to this kind of business that does not ask for the customer's consent to collect tips again. I contacted the restaurant , but they did not help to solve the problem, but just hung up on me. I will file a dispute with the credit card company. As a resident of San Francisco, I feel shame for this business.

We came to eat dinner at California Fish Market Restaurant because of seafood cravings and saw their menu had several seafood items. It didn't disappoint! First of all, the service was spectacular. The server gave us a lot of attention and even double checked whether or not one of the items (a roe pasta) we ordered would be okay for us after describing it. He offered to switch it out in case we didn't like it (we didn't have to - it was delicious). We ordered some raw miyagi oysters, the scallop crudo, a lobster roll, and a fish roe pasta. Everything was tasty. The lobster roll had a slight spicy kick to it, which was a bit different than I expected. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance, with indoor and outdoor table seating as well as a bar area. Parking can be a little tough in the North Beach area but you can find parking if you don't mind walking a bit. Overall, good experience and would come back.Parking: Street parking around the neighborhood, mostly metered but free after 6pm and on Sundays.

one of the best seafood restaurants on the block and in San Francisco. i had Cioppino and Pinot Grigio- it was perfect. great portion, worth the money and easily can feed two people.they also showed how to crack open the crab legs. the soup was amazing and enjoyed the experience dining here from service to presentation. 10/10!

Great staff here! Very friendly and accommodating. The food is real Mediterranean style seafood. I don't normally get whole fish, but prepared as it was it was very good. My friends ciopino was amazing and respectable wine menu. Would definitely visit again.

Food is fantastic and fresh! Service was amazing. Ambiance is perfect (light clubbing music in the background). Restaurant is clean with the right amount of energy to match the North Beach.

Our family had a great time at the restaurant. Very courteous service. Alejandro was our waiter and he was very good - perfect actually. The sea bass ($40 for a huge plate) was really, really delicious. I can still savor the complex sauces 24 hours later. The bill, for what we had, was modest. As we all know eating out has become rather expensive. Really excellent experience all around.

The Italian sashimi here is just so good. The place next door, Sotto Mare, is simply just not as good! Had to say it... The service is great, the seafood is so fresh and the pasta is nice and Aldente.

Whenever I come to San Fran I always want chowder and seafood. Found this spot and it has good reviews. It wasn't too far from my hotel (short $10 Uber) I sat a table by the window and The bartender Alex was my server. He was very nice and knowledgeable... as a first timer I appreciate the extra time spent giving recommendations! I ordered crab chowder and it's definitely something I'd order again. Creamy and filled with lots crab and aromatics. I came for the lobster roll and boy oh boy they definitely did not short change on the lobster. Unfortunately it was bland. I still enjoyed it because that's what I had a taste for but it's definitely missing a sauce/salt or something. The lobster itself was bland. Overall I'd 100% return... definitely gonna try pasta next visit

Food was spectacular! Service was 5 stars! Ordered a grilled plate of salmon, haddock, shrimp, calamari, muscles, and little neck clams on a bed of arugula, was so delicious and I don't like clams and I ate every single one. A very clean environment, and you could actually have a conversation without screaming.

Every single thing we had was amazing! Flavor profiles, presentation, staff. 10/10 would recommend! i already have my next meal planned for my next visit. Expect me weekly! The place is so cozy inside and outdoors there are heaters, you'll be comfortable no matter where you decide to dine. Highly recommend the Scallops!

Service here is excellent! Waiters are attentive and friendly. The food is great. All the seafood pasta dishes are delicious. Prices seem reasonable for the quality of food. I highly recommend this North Beach restaurant. Indoor & outdoor seating.

Drinks weren't great but the food was good! I think there's better Italian nearby, but there never is a super long wait and they give good sized portions. The staff was really responsive and nice and I liked the clean feel of the restaurant!!

Fantastic food! Probably the best cioppino I've had in the city yet (def better than Tadich Grill). Great oysters and crab chowder too. Also, it's nice that you can make reservations online unlike Sotto Mare where you try calling but still can't reach a person to make a reservation.

Excellent, attentive and experienced waiters. Comfortable environment. Made a reservation. Had no problems being seated on time. Very good food - everything was well-presented, hot and tasty. 1 hour free parking across the street ($10/hr). I would go again.
