The food was ok this time, the customer service was horrible. Total different experience from when I first went. I was extremely disappointed in the customer service. The clam chowder was at best 6/10. I was so excited to bring my family here, from having a great experience the first time. Hope they improve their customer service.

Went for Dinner Food - 5/5. Appetizers were a mixed bag. The garlic fries barely had any garlic flavor and the bruschetta's bread was basically a crouton. The toppings were flavorless so it might as well have been raw tomatoes. Thankfully, Cioppino's really turned it around when it comes to their seafood. The fried calamari had perfect texture on the squid with just the right amount of springy bite with a light, crispy breading. Seafood risotto was unlike most risottos I've had as it lacked dairy of any kind and was more reminiscent of a congee; a delicious congee! It was loaded with fresh seafood that added a great bite and the rice really soaked up the rich seafood broth. Their namesake dish was phenomenal! It was loaded with crab and snapper which had that nice firm yet tender texture you get from perfectly cooked seafood. Tomato broth gave the nice hint of acid to make you crave the next bite and the garlic toast was great at being a sponge for everything. The only gripe was that there was way too little garlic toast for such a big bowl and the regular toast they gave us were hard as bricks. Service - 5/5. Friendly and attentive service. The staff was kind and quick to requests. They comped the dessert as a birthday gift which is always appreciated. Value - 4/5. Prices are fair especially given the tourist spot location with most entrees being in the 20s to 30s range. Portion sizes are large, especially the Cioppino, and worth the experience for its price tag. Some of the items, although small, were really bad so a bit of value is lost there but overall the experience was fantastic. Parking - Street (Metered)

Service was good. Social distancing indoors was good. Sadly the food was all disappointing. We ordered two pasta dishes and a salad none were good. The Italian restaurant a few doors down is much better.

Delicious every time! We have been to Ciopino's on multiple trips to San Francisco and the quality is always top notch. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is clean.

This is a touristy area and almost every Italian restaurant has an identical menu. That being said we picked this one because it was rated slightly higher vs the one down the street. We were seated immediately and had attentive service throughout. Tried the soup/salad special - salad was pretty sparse and missing the blue cheese crumbles as advertised. Not the best clam chowder in the area but it comes in the Boudin sourdough bread bowl and it's steaming hot. If you have a bit more time, walk down the street and get the clam chowder at Bistro Boudin instead.

Cioppino's is a lovely restaurant near the water with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. This place is popular so it gets busy definitely come early or make a reservation.

I'm not going to mince my words here folks - this place was just plain DIRTY. The table was sticky and nasty, there were gnats flying around, the air was stiff and stuffy (I wanna say there was no AC), there was dust literally EVERYWHERE, and the place was a ghost town. The fact that this place is so big and there were hardly any customers should've told me what was up and I should've walked right out. When you first walk in, you have to pay for everything upfront. Very ghetto and low-end. It was giving Golden Corral; Hometown Buffet vibes. Very, very low end. The actual food (I ordered some tacos) was WEAK, flavorless and pointless. I wanted to go after finding a seat and seeing all the dust and choking on the stiff air, but I'd already paid for the meal, and I'll be damned! Won't fool me again. I won't be back. I only came because some scoundrel at the front desk of my hotel said lots of people go there for dinner. The lies. He tried me!

I don't really like visiting restaurants in this heavily tourist area, but the family wanted Italian food and it was the closest one to us at the time. The food was actually pretty good. The mozzarella cakes were perfectly fried and the sauces were excellent. The margarita pizza was actually surprisingly good--the crust was delicious. My kids got the grilled chicken and fettuccini Alfredo and they both thought their food was good. The drinks seemed a bit weak. Pricing is in line with the area (high).

Ate there for lunch on a Friday after visiting Alcatraz. Staying at the Argonaut and literally walked a half of block down the street. Hostess was friendly and seated us right away. We sat outside. Server and dude helping the server were friendly and helpful. The garlic bread was sourdough, lots of garlic but not overly garlicky. Wife and I shared crab cakes, lightly fried and tasty with carrots. I had a good bowl of clam chowder. My sons had snapper and pizza - all really good. Reading some of the other reviews maybe they were expecting something else but this was perfect for us for lunch and really enjoyed the food and experience.

Had a great meal on the 4th of July. I ordered the chicken club with cole slaw and my friend had the blackened salmon Ceasar's salad. Both dishes were fantastic. The chicken club was juicy and flavorful and the salmon was perfectly cooked. Service was fast and friendly. I didn't care for the cole slaw. I prefer a finely shredded cole slaw and theirs is more like chopped salad. Nice location on the wharf with both outdoor and indoor seating.

We saved Cioppinos for our last meal. Wow. 5-star all day long. Service Recommendations that hit homes runs Classic (amazing) cioppino Seating Atmosphere Mom, dad, and 2 -15 year olds finally agreed on this meal! And we ALL say it was best on the wharf! Best of the week too! (And we at all over the city...) blacken cod, scampi linguini, seafood linguini and of course son had the Cioppino... I wish we'd stay another day JUST for the Cioppino.

Nothing like having one of my favorite dishes, Ciopinno, at a place called Ciopinno's. It's like it was meant to be. Absolutely loved their rendition of this timeless classic. If you love Ciopinno, then stop in and treat yourself. Expect to to a little messy, unless you pay the extra to have the crab removed from the shell. My only regret. #DukeOfEats

Food and service are mediocre, wound not return. Complimentary bread warmed and only given on request. We got bread that was not warmed, so bread was chewy and didn't butter well. Fish and chips- Fish batter could be more flavorful and definitely not fried well. We swapped for garlic fries, which was the best item in our opinion. Seafood Fettuccine- Pasta gain lacked flavor, but decent amount of seafood.

So it took two minutes to seat me BUT ten minutes later I'm still waiting on someone to acknowledge me and take my drink order...smh 7:30 pm food order in. Let's see what how it goes from here I ordered Garlic Fries, Fish Tacos and Clam Chowder (to-go) and a Bay City Cosmo to relax after a full day of adventure today. Okay, order to table only took 10 minutes which is cool and everything came together which was also nice. Asked for ranch to go with my fries but he forgot. It came when I was already done eating so not great there...those fries would have been extra with that ranch. Food was good, drinks were legit. One Cosmo and I'm feeling G-R-E-A-T! Fish was delish and crispy just don't like how they put the cabbage first, made it awkward to eat. All in all good food, not so good service.
