Ordered the hot mocha and it came with a cookie, and a marshmallow on top. The chocolate was some of the best I've tasted in a mocha!

Attention Chocoholics! When you're in San Francisco ----- This is the real deal! Recently visited the Ferry building in San Francisco and found this gem of an artisan small batch chocolate company. Three letters. OMG. The staff were super friendly. It was a cute small unassuming open store front with a little area to order grab-n-go style. The storefront was very clean, tidy and premium products were nicely and orderly displayed. The menu felt well thought out and artisan. It was a cool brisk overcast day and their hot chocolate was an absolute choclatey creamy treat! It oozed quality and premium ingredients. A true taste bud experience for people who can appreciate the "real-deal" of artisan hot chocolate and love chocolate in general. It was so good, I had to go back a second day and order the drinking chocolate, which was quite rich, but a true decadent slow sipping experience packed with silky deep flavor. The other treats looked really tempting as well! This is definitely forever on my go-to list when visiting San Francisco. I highly recommend. You can visit their website as well and sign up for a tour of their chocolate making facility. It looks like an awesome experience too!

We highly recommended Dandelion Chocolate! Their chocolate is smooth, rich with flavors yet not overpowering to the pallet, and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Come from a chocolatier and chocolate connoisseur, I'd say this is some of the best chocolate we've tried.

I think they are one of the original merchants to the SF Ferry Building since the renovation. THE BEST hot chocolate if you want to pay for quality. There’s a marshmallow included if you desire and a little complimentary cookie.

European drinking chocolate: the only three words you need to know and order. it's the perfect ten of a drink that I always get when I go here: silky, intensely chocolatey, comes with a tiny marshmallow and cookie! there's other delicious stuff to order here but the drinking chocolate is definitely the best.

My hubby and I were looking for something to drink after enjoying breakfast at the Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market and came across this small location. As soon as we stepped in we were greeted by a sweet staff member and were just in awe of their menu, so many delectable possibilities, it was hard to choose! I ordered the European Drinking Chocolate with an added Housemade Marshmallow. THICK, chocolatey and rich 70% Chef's Chocolate, served with a delicious mini cookie on the side for dipping! Note: it's more bitter than American hot chocolate. Afterwards we sampled some of their dark chocolate bars, that we will definitely have to purchase our next visit! They have been making their single-origin, small-batch chocolate for 10 years with just 2 ingredients: roasted cocoa beans and organic cane sugar! I would HIGHLY recommend this location, located at the famous historical landmark, San Francisco Ferry Building! So many shops and popular restaurants we wanted to try! Parking is available nearby at Embarcadero Center Parking or Sea Wall Lot 351. We'll definitely be back to try some of their baked goods and the Nibby Horchata, I was intrigued to try! SYOY! :-) *Song Credit: Night in Venice by Kevin MacLeod Site: License:

The store has been moved to inside the ferry building. The european drinking chocolate was so thick and heavenly! Super fast and friendly service. 4oz size is enough, like drinking amazing melted chocolate bar! you can ask for marshmallow on top!

I have been craving DANDELION'S DRINKING CHOCOLATE for a good long while now. Now that I had an opportunity visit, I am glad to introduce some family to it too. We had a chocolate party! MOCHA is delicious, as expected. This came with a house-made marshmallow. EUROPEAN DRINKING CHOCOLATE is rich rich rich. Thick as molasses and I wouldn't have it any other way. This drink came with a house-made marshmallow and a shortbread cookie. My girls chickened out and just got the HOUSE HOT CHOCOLATE, but there were no complaints coming from that direction. Each drink came with a house-made marshmallow and a shortbread cookie. If it was summer, I would totally follow the other kids' lead and order the FROZEN HOT CHOCOLATE because it was delicious! I had a sip. But it was way too cold. It might have been worth the cold though. The cashier and the barista were infinitely patience when taking our giant order and fulfilling it. In case you're wondering, yes, they are actually selling their chocolates at this branch too, and they also have free samples!

Wanted to come try the hot chocolate here after seeing people post about it online, since my boyfriend really loves hot chocolate. We also hoped to find some nice gifts for family or friends outside of the city. We dropped by after lunch; there was a bit of a wait, but nothing too bad. Only one person was manning the cashier and making the drinks. We ordered the House Hot Chocolate with marshmallow, which also came with a small cookie. The hot chocolate was great--it tasted more like actual dark chocolate than other hot chocolates I've had. There was a subtle bitterness and roastiness, and it wasn't overly sweet. I half-expected them to toast the marshmallow, but the marshmallow did taste like a homemade or fresh marshmallow. The accompanying nut cookie was pretty nice, although it didn't taste too different when dipped in the hot chocolate. The store offered some chocolate bits to taste for the chocolate bars and a few other products. The items were a bit on the expensive side, so I didn't end up getting any. I'd highly recommend the hot chocolate to anyone who appreciates the taste of dark chocolate and prefers it on the less sweet side.

Love it. But the quantity is too small. I would expect hot chocolate in a regular cup but it came in a mini cup and was not enough. At least give people the option to have a regular cup instead of just mini. I always have the European hot chocolate there which is very rich and tasty

It's weird-- I don't actually love the Dandelion chocolate bars but I lucked out years ago when my friend bought several of the Dandelion baked goods and I discovered how stellar their baked goods are. The hot chocolate is pretty great too (I had it at the Mission location on Valencia). I bought the peanut butter brownie as a gift for my friend, and also got the canele for us to share. I've been on a recent canele kick, and this one was definitely a standout. The baked goods were all already pre-packed so service was quick and I got them as soon as I ordered them. The Ferry Building location is small so you can only get the baked goods and coffee to-go but there's plenty of spaces to settle down in and outside of the Ferry Building.

Although this is a very aesthetic hot chocolate (and perhaps most locally acclaimed), I didn't really enjoy this drink. The Mission Hot chocolate is listed as "foamy, spiced and spicy", but I didn't know that meant literally spicy like cayenne and not just cinnamon. The foam was great and marshmallow is amazing, but the flavors in the hot chocolate weren't doing it for me. It was too spicy to enjoy as a sweet treat for me. We had a chocolate canele, which was also just mid. The crust wasn't super crackly and insides not custardy like I'd expect. The chocolate didn't really come through either. But, the single origin bars are divine - with sugar being the only additive, you can really taste the difference between origins. Also, each bar is perfectly balanced to match the flavor profile of the beans inside. You can't go wrong with their chocolates! The staff is happy to help with a mini-chocolate tasting when not busy and drinks came out fast! I love most every thing Dandelion Chocolate makes, but take this as a sign to just stick with traditional hot chocolate and their bars.

Situated in the iconic Ferry Building at the Embarcadero, Dandelion Chocolate offers a unique experience. I opted for the Mission Mocha, a visually stunning concoction combining spicy hot chocolate with a double espresso. While the drink was beautiful, the spices were a bit overpowering for my taste I will try the regular mocha on my next visit.
