Ordered a $13 lemongrass chicken sandwich and I got was carrots l. No pate, no meat, and not worth your time. Go to que huong on Irving street where the bahn mi is $7 for wayyyy more than you get here. ?

Not sure why it’s highly praised. Extremely expensive small banh mi ($12.75 pretax, closer to $15 after) and the meat is sparse. Drive a few more minutes into SF for way better food.

The sandwiches taste good but they recently increased prices to $14 per sandwich. Also this last sandwich had a bunch of beef grizzle and fat that couldn’t be chewed through. So an increase in price and decrease in quality… huge bummer. $6 banh mis exist a mile or two away

Tasteless spring rolls. Chicken and spring totally bland, veggies don’t taste fresh. With very low quality peanut sauce on top. Will not return.

Been coming here for years for good reason. The pork and shrimp springs rolls with peanut sauce are sublime. Paired with the also exquisite pineapple flavored potato chips…. You have a meal fit for a king…. Or whatever gender less/ nonbinary system of government you happen to identify with. Cheers!

It’s a bit hidden but we eventually found it. The banhmi’s and spring rolls are so good! Definitely coming back to try everything on the menu.

Definition of “mid” - I came for their crispy tofu vegan option, basically got a hard @ss bread with a bunch of carrot and noodles in it. Despite adding extra jalapeños and paying extra for avocado, the tofu was basically non existent. Pretty disappointing for $16 and change plus tip. Personally, I wouldn’t come here again.

Delicious delicious! It was worth every penny. It may be more expensive than your average banh mi shop, but I could taste why and I support the shop’s want to serve highly quality ingredients and I don’t mind paying for it.I got the special and was incredibly impressed. There was a nice thick layer of pate which was warm! It tasted homemade versus store bought. The meats were also warm and thick slabs. I’m not the biggest fan of the bread shape, just it’s shape, but the bread itself was nicely crispy outside and soft inside. Veggies on point. My husband got the shaken beef, quality of the beef was great, cooked well.I also got an avocado shake, gah, I haven’t had one in ages! It tasted just like how my grandma used to make them. You can taste the avocado and know it was fresh avocados and not powder. Their Thai tea was also delicious.
The bahn mi and summer rolls are both SO good! Their vegan tofu bahn mi is delicious too, and I appreciate that there are great vegan options. The prices have definitely increased a lot since 2017 when I first started coming here, but that’s due to inflation and similar to other restaurants.Even though it’s mostly grab and go, there’s even some outdoor seating to eat in.Vegetarian options: This place has great vegan options!: the crispy tofu bahn mi and the tofu and taro rolls are both very good.

This place is small and tucked away but has amazing banh mis! The two vegan options are clearly marked and they also make Thai iced tea and Vietnamese iced coffee with soy creamer.

The food is good but the menu prices on Google are way off. The Shaking Beef is listed on Google in the menus section for $7.50. The actual price is $12.50. I asked one of the staff and he said the prices on Google haven’t been updated since 2017.
