This was lunch time downtown San Francisco about six tables in the restaurant only two were being used me and my friend ordered to eat there I ordered a burrito with no beans and a Coke. And the person behind the counter offered chips and salsa, we sat at our table we a small bowl of chips and no salsa at first and then he brought out our drinks and he brought me a Diet Pepsi then minutes later he brought out the salsa, then when our two burritos were delivered guess what ingredient was in my chicken burrito.. beans of which I am allergic. That is my experience I hope yours is better.

Amazing food - super fresh and had seriously the best customer service. Would super recommend — watched someone at a table next to me literally say the same

I stopped in for lunch last weekend after running some mid-day errands. It's a very modest restaurant, but I was very impressed with the quality of my meal, from the salsa with my chips as the appetizer to my enchilada plate to the watermelon cooler (I can't recall exactly what it was called). Coming from AZ, I haven't been impressed with the quality of Mexican food in the bay area in general, but this is an exception. It was very good imo, and a good value. The staff was also friendly. It was a nice surprise on my Saturday, and I'll come here again if I'm nearby.

I hate having to write this, definitely miss the previous owners. I placed a phone order and got to the place 10 minutes after. Ordered a menudo, it was basically room temperature and a carne asada torta, it was the smallest steak portion I've gotten compared to any other place here in the city. I am very heartbroken ? ?

We live near this restaurant. When we moved in 2 years ago it was the first restaurant we went to. It was ok, but we were not impressed with so many other Mexican restaurants around. However, a few months ago they closed and went through a big remodel. Now not only is the restaurant more attractive with a wooden counter area, and an open kitchen but the food and service seems to have improved a lot also. Recently, my partner, who had cancer surgery, was home and wanted beef soup. We called Los Yaquis which is right around the corner, but no luck. So we tried Dona Mago which had re-opened and not only did they have the beef soup, but some delicious refried beans with hand made tortilla and some very spicy salsa. All was ready on time and I walked over and picked it up. My partner was very happy with this comfort food from Dona Mago.

Great service. I ordered a burrito to go. It was very good all fresh ingredients. I will order from again.

Got a carnitas burrito that was burnt to a crisp. The meat was unchewable, it was SO rock hard, and made the whole thing taste like burnt gravy even tho I tried picking it out.

Popular for lunch! Great prawn burrito, good seating inside, but only one table outside. Reasonable prices.

I was physically attacked in the evening and needed EMS. My clothes were even ripped from barely escaping this homeless mans violent clutches.i was scared and the only place that was open and close by was this Dona Mago place. It was a half a block away from where I was attacked. When I walked into Dona Mago and asked if they could call for me they looked at me, told me "No" and told me to leave. I was shocked at the humanity of it all. The only way I managed to get help was a customer called for me. Thank you Dona Magos !
