Yeah the best I have ever had... period. The meat is well marinated. I had chicken burritos and Chorizo taco. Salsa fresh and not too hot. Everything in the Goldilocks zone.

Soo good. If you're ever in the mission you cannot go wrong with El Farolito or La Taqueria. El Farolito is open late and one of the best places to eat after a night out. Chili rilleno super burritos and carne asada burritos cannot be missed.

Good Mexican food and fairly quick service if you're ever in the area. I did wait in line, but it moves quickly. The burritos here are my go to. The pollo asado is nicely seasoned. When paired with their horchata, it's the perfect meal. This place is more of a hole in the wall location, nothing fancy, so don't let it deter you from coming. Parking can be hard to find but it's worth finding parking a few blocks out and walking over.

The best Mission-style burrito in the city, hands down. My go-to is a super burrito with al pastor. All the ingredients taste fresh and I love that they use avocado slices in their burritos. When you bite into the burrito, you can actually taste all the individual ingredients - it doesn't get all mushy like some other spots. They give you salsa with your order, so there's no hassle to grab it yourself. Make sure to bring cash - they don't take cards.

Hmm, kinda disappointed with all the hype, was expecting out-of-the-world that will make you rethink how you want to live the rest of your life. Maybe I will do that over a Sinaloa's. Was a hard OK - very good portion but the meat was dry as the Lake Mead.

Went for the super burrito al pastor (marinated pork), which was big and pretty tasty but needed a bit of salsa for extra spice and flavor. As a bonus I had a Jarret mandarin drink too! This place is cash only but there was an ATM inside the restaurant if you need it.

The Burrito I had was really good, meat was flavorful. I think I had the al pastor. Just remember to bring cash because they don't accept card.

Ranked California's best Mexican restaurant in 2020, it has always made top burrito lists in local rankings. It's located right next to the Bart station in the Mission so easy to grab a takeout order if coming or going, not so convenient if driving and searching for parking. This neighborhood invented the giant burritos that's almost become the standard size for burritos now. We got the al pastor, carne asada, and carne asada and al pastor mix super burrito. Both of them are heavy and huge, it's almost like a dream or video game eating it, you think you can eat half and get full 1/4 the way through. I didn't like the sour cream and the rice, would not get it next time. Meat was OK but not as high level as some places in LA or even La Taq. right down the street. The tortilla and salsa were excellent and super delicious, loved the green one the most.

Girlllll as a SF native, I've been coming to El Farolito and all it's various locations since I was like 6 and was able to chew. The food never disappoints, and to this day has been my favorite Mexican taqueria. It's cash only, so go to the bank first before you order. Get it all with the "super" upgrade. Super quesadilla, burrito, and nachos are always shareable and even their chicken options is really good. Generous portions, fresh ingredients (the avocado always hits), and the cheese is always the star of my show. Something nice is that the security guard does their job and is also super chill. So you can enjoy your Mexican food sober or not safely

Went Saturday afternoon for a late azz lunch or was it an early azz dinner? I love my city and the food I grew up on. El Farolito is a classic SF place to get good Mexican food at reasonable prices. The steak quesadillas were grilled to a perfect golden brown with seasoned steak. So delicious! The burritos may be ordered with different fillings, I got the super burrito with grilled steak, onions, avocado, sour cream, pintos, rice, cheese and salsa. Huge burrito that I was determined to finish but I could not! Afterwards, we walked around the neighborhood to burn some of those calories off! Lots to see and do in the Mission.

Generally speaking, California is superior to New York when it comes to Mexican food. When planning my trip out here, I wanted to carve in some time to grab some Mexican. It looked like our time in SF was going to work best, so I did some research and concluded that the Mission would be the best place to grab some. My brother texted one of his friends who said that he went to El Farolito - reviews and pictures looked good, so after some sightseeing we headed over to check it out. There are a few El Farolito locations in SF, but this seems to be the original one. They have limited seating, and mostly cater to takeout orders. Parking here can be a challenge - the Mission is a crowded area of the city so you might be circling a while looking for a spot. Their menu is pretty extensive, featuring a variety of burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and other Mexican staples. I was feeling a burrito, so I went with the Super which contained rice, beans, salsa, sour cream, cheese, avocado, and a protein (I chose chicken). The burrito was huge - they didn't skimp on anything, and all the ingredients tasted really fresh. We also got an order of chips which were good albeit nothing outstanding. Service was fast and friendly, and overall I'm glad I stopped at El Farolito. They're open super late, which is idea for this neighborhood and the type of food they serve. I came looking for some solid Mexican food and wasn't disappointed - it's definitely worth a stop here.

El Farolito (Lighthouse) guiding light...... Translation for damn good Mexican food. 2779 Mission Street is one of the old school Mission District Taqueria's. The quality of the food has been consistently great for the 5+ years that I have been visiting for food. The interior has 6 branch seats but the Taqueria now has outdoor seating which is great. The menu is diverse and you can do a made to order. The parking is a challenge as well as the entryway due to the open air sidewalk market. Aside from the environment, the food and service is 5 stars.

Abstract (TL/DR): El Farolito was the late-night panacea I needed for a night shenanigans out in the Mission District. The quality and quantity at the given price point, and the late-night availability, all make El Farolito a must go location (be at 2AM after a night on the town, or stone cold sober). Score: 5/5 Recommended Item: Super Chorizo Burrito Review: Over the past week visiting the Bay Area, I've had countless people push their opinions on me as to which taco-joint reigns supreme in the Mission District. If you're looking for an answer to this question, you won't find it in this review. What I can confidently say, however, is that El Farolito makes some damn good food. As with any meal context is important. On this particular evening, I had myself quite the night in the Mission District. After an early pre-game, attending house party and making friends with some incredibly kind strangers and friends of friends (a huge part of The City's charm, imho), and a night filled with dancing and good fun on stage at the Makeout Room, we stepped out around 1:30 AM. As people began to figure out what next move should be made (if any), a voice pierced through the brisk evening air-- "Let's go to El Farolito!" No questions asked, our squad of 12 marched our way over to El Farolito. A few notes for first timers: 1. El Farolito is cash only: it's best to be prepared, but there are two ATM's nearby (one outside the spot, and one inside El Farolito itself). 2. While there was definitely a line to get in, things move pretty quickly (though that may have been a result of the drinks consumed earlier... time is just a concept) I ordered a Super Chorizo Burrito (just what my stomach and soul needed at 2:00 AM lmao). The burrito itself was stuffed to the max: rice, cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, and extra (and I mean EXTRA) crispy chorizo. Certainly enough to get at least two meals out of it, or one solid meal for the extra hungry individual. Along with the burrito, I have to give credit to each of the salsas provided, especially the green salsa. The salsa roja had a good balance of body and flavor to it, but the salsa verde had the just the right acidity to cut through the richness of the chorizo and cheese. Price, quality, and late night availability: El Farolito provided the perfect meal to close out what had already been an amazing evening, and for that I'm certainly thankful. I will without a doubt be making a trip here whenever I am out in The Bay.

My wife and I came out here to have an early lunch Friday. The area was packed and bustling. Parking was a challenge but after making a few circles around the block, I was able to nab a coveted spot right on 24th St just a couple hundred feet away from the restaurant. The food at this place is delicious! I ordered the Super Quesadilla with chicken and my wife order the chicken enchilada. I tried the enchilada and it wasn't bad but it didn't hold a candle to the super quesadilla. Don't be dissuaded by the gnarliness of area and the smell of urine hanging in the air. Even though the door of the restaurant is open and that smell blows in, the flavor of the food just overpowers it. LOL Anyway, if you don't want to deal with that nastiness as well as the crowd that forms as the lunch time crowd comes in, there's a dining area in the back. Honestly, the next time I visit SF, I'm coming back here again and getting another Super Quesadilla with chicken. Soo good!

I'm gunna be one of those annoying San Diegans that says "i'm from san diego so I'm kinda a mexican food snob" -hair flip- its true, we really pride ourselves on having the best mexican food in the US. To further elaborate on my street cred, I recently lived in Mexico for a month so there's that. And back in college, I used to work at a burrito shop. Yes, making burritos. Fun fact, but not that you care who I am or anything. All that to say is I'm not here to yuck your yum if you really enjoy this place. I'm glad it makes you happy. For me or for anyone who used to live in SD, just wanted to warn people that this doesn't compare but its not bad by any means. Its a decent burrito. Is it one of the best burritos I've ever had? No. I would say its on par with the colima/cotixan/anything-berto chains of SD. And you know what, thats okay. Any ex San Diegan who tells you this is as good as SD cannot be trusted! But really though, don't change San Francisco. Do what you do best, which is chinese food and breads. If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will think its a failure. I do appreciate that this burrito can stand on its own though. That's some pretty good wrapping skills.
