We have held our book clubs here and it has continuously topped any other bar we've tried in the city by far. A++ for wine selection, ambience, service and accommodation. We are coming back until they get tired of us ladies.

I've been coming to Essi for over 2 years and I absolutely cannot say enough about this place. My go to order is poutine (absolutely delicious!) and the chicken wings are the bomb! The guys are really knowledgeable about wine and always so welcoming!

Came in to grab a bite and some wine. My friend and I wanted to taste some wines before deciding on a bottle. The bartender asked what our price range and type of wines we normally prefer. He convinced us that we would enjoy a bottle from sterling vineyard. We were hesitant but he insisted. We are soo glad we took his advice, we loved the bottle. We ordered flatbread and mac & cheese that we enjoyed.

I wouldn't come back here again, saw a white man asking a POC couple to be quiet after his comedy set. The couple weren't even being loud. Also this is a bar?? But staff did nothing to support the couple.

I went Sunday night with a friend and we each had 1 glass of wine, I checked my bank statement today and it was supposed to be $45 including tip and I was charged $56. That's bad juju - never going to this place again.. customers beware!

Great place for wine and charcuterie. Lobster Mac is off the hook! Ya gotta have it!

One of the few places in the Marina I actually enjoy! Very nice and classy wine bar, never super crowded or filled with young 20-somethings. Great date spot and can be extra fun late at night. Iykyk

Last time we ordered, everything was fine. This time(03/05/22) - less than 1/3 of the meat on the short ribs (you had to search to find the meat)...we realize times are difficult, but this is unacceptable, especially for the cost..we shall be looking for a restaurant that provides what it claims to provide.

Such a great place! Best happy hour spot in the area. Great tasting and snacks. Service was very quick, and very friendly employees.

My homegirl GF needed to help out as the bartender during Fleet Week, so I tagged along with her. It's really a cozy spot on Steiner and Chestnut. While I had already had dinner, the food of other patrons looked and smelled delicious. A mutual friend joined us and had the Spaghetti Bolognese. She said it was fabulous! We're gonna have to come back for dinner soon!

Celebrated our Anniversary with our kids! Ordered all sorts of dishes and shared. It was fabulous. Good to the last drop!

If you're not going to have a wine list... the staff should at least be trained on the wine you offer. Giving me a generic Cotes du Rhône and charging $16 a glass is absolutely ridiculous. Considering the bottle probably cost them $4 wholesale. I get there's a markup but a reasonable price could be $10-12 for that wine. I would have chosen something else if I had the opportunity to see the price list. Not to mention if you have any questions about the wines they quickly list off to you, you're met with a blank stare. There's a reason bars have wine lists. People want to know the producer, vintage, and price of the wine they're picking. Telling me you have a "California Pinot" doesn't really narrow things down. I get it's fun to curate someone's experience. Why not offer a wine list with the option of the staff picking for the customer?
