Ambiance and energy were so positive and welcoming. Food was excellent. Service stands out above all. Such knowledgeable and attentive staff. Every detail was cared for. Farrah, the General Manager, came by to make sure everything was in order and helped select the best options for our tastes. The table side baklava sundae and espresso were the crescendo. We had a most delightful evening and will bask in the glow of this refined culinary experience for a long time to come!

Got a reservation through the InKind app for a Wednesday dinner. I wanted to treat my mom and aunt who were in the city for a week to visit me.We ordered the brussel sprouts, tuna crudo, and the octopus as starters to share. My mom ordered the lamb chops, my aunt got the chicken, and I opted for the filet mignon paired with a glass greek red wine. We ended the night with The Lemon dessert. No complaints. Our server was patient and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our food. The ambience was amazing.I'm glad my mom and aunt had fun.

Surprised by the bad reviews on Yelp about the service! I thought the service was excellent, it was the same high level of service I remember from when this was the Michael Mina namesake restaurant. All staff was very attentive, funny, conversational etc.I think the drinks are a bit overpriced. Non alcoholic mocktails are $14, an Anchor Steam beer is $12, and it's very hard to find bottles of wine under $120. Shame on the drinks prices as they have a lovely bar and it'd be great to sit there. The food portions are bit all over the place. The grilled octopus mezze is really just a bunch of white beans with some small, cut up octopus in it, it's also pretty tiny for $23, wouldn't recommend. The entrees (we got the lemon chicken and the lamb chops) are huge! I rarely take food home and had to take home a whole half of chicken, it's that big. Lamb chops are excellent. There's a phyllo dough, caviar appetizer that is DELICIOUS.This is pretty expensive for greek food in my opinion, I'd rather spend the money at someplace a little more delicious and cozy like Kokkari.I think if they have a more reasonable drinks menu and make the atmosphere a bit cozier instead of instagrammy, I would return for some drinks and apps at the bar or for an anniversary dinner.

Estiatorio Ornos in San Francisco presents a dichotomy in dining experiences. On one hand, the culinary offerings are beyond reproach, showcasing impeccable flavors and a testament to the kitchen's prowess. Each dish served is a nod to thoughtful preparation and the rich tapestry of its culinary heritage. However, our dining experience was marred by service that left much to be desired. Despite the restaurant's ambiance and high-quality food, our server exhibited a noticeable impatience with our inquiries about the menu and our preference for family-style eating. This lack of accommodation and visible annoyance detracted significantly from the overall enjoyment of our meal. While the food at Estiatorio Ornos is exceptional, the service experience, particularly for those who enjoy a more interactive dining approach, may not meet the same standard.

Estiatorio Ornos had an undeniably chic atmosphere. The bright, airy space, high ceilings, white walls with huge wall mirrors and and the velvet cushioned seating felt very modern and inviting. My friends and I went there on a Friday night and the place was quite busy except the bar area. Soon after we got seated, we had a server walk us through their 2 different menus (their regular menu & their tasting menu) and a sommelier who was very knowledgeable. We gave the sommelier our wine preference, and based on that, he recommended us a wine that was really good.Note: Their tasting menu is family style, so everyone at the table has to participate. The cost of their tasting menu is $95 pp. I don't know if I'd call it family style because for most dishes, they gave us 3 pieces of each item as there were 3 of us (though I'm not sure if that's how it comes and we just happen to have the right number of people). Also, on Fridays, you get half off on wine if you buy the bottle (not a glass). My friends and I opted for their tasting menu, and it included the following dishes :First course-1. TRIO OF SPREADS (substitution allowed)tzatzikl, tirokafteri, melitzanosalata, toasted pita2. DUNGENESS CRAB & ENDIVEmizithra, 'granch' dressing3.AHI TUNA CRUDOfalafel crouton, tahina, salata baladiSecond course -1. TRIO MEZZEsalmon croquettes, zucchini fritters, kefalograviera2. GRILLED OCTOPUSsantorini capers, white beans, red onionThird course -1. OAK-GRILLED DAY BOAT CATCHsantorini capers, oregano, lemon2. LAMB CHOPS 'PAIDAKIA'yemista stuffed squash, roasted peppers3. CHARRED BROCCOLINItoasted garlic, preserved lemon, chili flakeFourth course -1. THE LEMONcandied citrus peel, vanilla bean crumble2. YIA YIA'S RICE PUDDINGcalrose rice, cinnamon crispThe trio of spreads (hummus, tirokafteri, melitzanosalata) with toasted pita was decent. The hummus was underwhelming, and it had no flavor at all, but the other two spreads were good. Overall, the spreads were fresh. The Dungeness Crab & Endive with mizithra cheese was a bit of a letdown. The capers were a nice touch, but the endive was overpowering, so the crab flavor didn't stand out as much as we expected. The Ahi Tuna Crudo was the star of the first course. The falafel crouton added a nice textural contrast, and the tahina and salata baladi dressing brought a cool, refreshing flavor. The trio mezze was a mixed bag. Their menu mentioned salmon croquettes as one of the items in the trio mezze, but when our order came out, it was replaced with beef croquettes. They didn't bother to clarify that, so we had to explicitly ask and confirm. The beef croquettes were a bit dry and hard, but the zucchini fritters were light and crispy. The kefalograviera cheese was a good addition as well. The grilled octopus was cooked well, but it felt like an afterthought because the white beans and red onions were in abundance compared to the octopus. The oak-grilled day boat catch was by far the worst dish of the night. Our server had mentioned that the fish is served boneless, but we kept finding bones in our fish. When we informed the staff about it, they told us that they'll let the chef know, but they didn't offer to replace our dish with a new one (in the hindsight, we should have asked for a replacement). The lamb chops "paidakia" were cooked perfectly. It was very juicy, but the yemista (stuffed squash) was a bit underseasoned. The charred broccolini with toasted garlic was a nice side dish. The lemon dessert was an interesting concept. It was very well presented, but the citrus flavor was a bit too overpowering. It needed something to balance out the sourness.Yia Yia's rice pudding was comforting and familiar, a nice way to end the meal. After we were done eating, we asked our server to pack the rest of the fish for us to take home, but they somehow threw it away. The chef was willing to prepare another one for us, but we asked them to take it off our bill instead, and they were very nice about it.Overall, Estiatorio Ornos had

Very good food and very welcoming place. Not to be missed

My water bottle had a chip at the opening. We arrived 5 minutes early and weren't seated for another 30 mins. We were sat by the door. The waiter didn't already know that we ordered the prefixe menu.

I have to say that the hummus is one of the main dishes. There is a dish that offers three different types of hummus in one of them is artichoke, and I have to say is one of the most delicious how much I’ve ever tried in my life.As you would expect this restaurant has great ingredients they are working with one of the finest ingredients in town. You can throw I wasn’t blown away by any dish. I have to say that every dish was spot on.I have highlighted the cooking on the lamb was very good so it shows how this restaurant is not only working with grading gradient, but they also have very experience and talented chefs in the back cooking very delicious dishes.I wish they could go a little bit out of their comfort zone and innovate, a little bit more.take that to the next level in a more, I believe adding their own twist to things would push them from where they are to where I believe they wanna go as a profesional restaurant in this industry.

As new parents w a toddler we often struggle to find nicer places we want to go eat, that can accommodate children. Michael Mina's team was so welcoming, friendly, and accommodating, they even had a high chair and kids menu! Every dish we ordered was delicious. We will be back!

The name is big, but both food and service are suboptimal… $18 zucchini chips were sticky and soggy, $21 yellowtail crudo has 4 slices of tasteless fish; $26 dungeness crab dish was like a dream, the salt crusted sea bream was a saving grace, but there are better and less expensive ones out there… other than our waiter the rest of the staff are not friendly, but our waiter seems new, took over 20 minutes for him to pour the bottle of RM champagne I brought, and also waited for 15 minutes for him to fill my empty glass after I called a bus boy… it is not worth from any stands…

Lovely evening with great food, delicious wine and solid service that was not exceptional. Cost was $400 before tip. While the restaurant is fine dining, it seemed totally tacky that $2 was added to the bill for a refill of plain pita bread. It was rather classless for such a classy restaurant. The $2 seemed even more petty when the bill arrived with the minimum suggest tip of 20% on the total not the before tax amount.

We were there for dinner before the pandemic and it was phenomenal. Our most recent visit thus week was a disappointment. We arrived at 7pm for a 7pm reservation, were told it would be a few minutes for our table and they wouldcome get us. No problem we went to the bar and had a drink, at 7:30 we were still waiting, When we asked they said the person who told us to wait in the bar area had forgotten about us. We were seated and not given menus until a waiter named "Ford" asked us if we wanted menus even though he was not out waiter. The food was good not great and the service was slow. When we were leaving it took forever for them to bring us our coats and leftovers that they were holding for us. For the price this restaurant is not worth it as the food was good and the service was very poor.

5* review. But this could’ve been much worse…The food, drinks, presentation, and atmosphere were all top notch. The salt crusted fish, lamb, wine list, and calamari were all absolutely amazing. One of the better dinners we’ve ever had.The reason the review could’ve been worse - we either had a waitress who was new or was having a very bad day. She misses two of the drinks in the original drink order. Then misses one of the appetizers we order. Finally, she brings out the wrong entree completely for one of the members of our party. Even though the food was amazing, this left an off taste in our mouth given the cost and high quality of everything else. The kitchen or manager eventually came out to the table and apologized, and comped the items that were missed, without us asking. It takes a top notch establishment to own a mistake like this when there isn’t a fit being thrown. To be in tune enough with your dining room and to make it right without the guest asking was the right move, and stuck the landing on the dinner. 5*.
