Love fable and the beautiful patio and awesome service but they really are way overdue for a new menu. And one that has more gluten free options like pasta and gluten free bread for sandwiches.

My family and I stopped here for dinner on a whim Sunday night. We loved that we were able to get immediately seated in a beautiful, lively, heated patio. Service was great, food and wine were solid. Best part was being surrounded by greenery, nice lighting and chit chat of other diners in an intimate setting!

Not enough servers in the patio area, particularly because of special requests; often nowhere to be seen. No salt and pepper at the table; this was surprising to me. We had to wait until server was on the patio and for him to see us wave to ask for this for such requests. All of these issues could be easily resolved by management.

Beautiful garden that would be great setting for a good restaurant with good service - and thianplace used to be great. Service: server brought me an egg rather than avocado on the salad. The server thought my friend wanted dressing and Malbec on the side - somehow didn't realize Malbec was wine! Good: Mt Lassen trout is solid but cooked very greasy and only about an ounce or two ok pricey nisoise salad. Many restaurants xut service and poetion size list pandemic even much better ones like Framces and Foreign Cinema but this was big disappointment

Really unaccomadating staff and hospitality for first time diners.

Disappointed that biscuit comes plain with no butter or jam or honey. Also, was told no mayo available. Never been to any restaurant where there was no mayo. Even Michael Minna has mayo. Food/Service was good.
Dietary restrictions: Very poor for dietary restrictions. Friend asked for the cod tacos to be made without cod (so they would be vegan). They came with the cod. Manager was extremely rude and almost berated us for ordering them. It’s wasn’t that complicated but he made a smart remark about ordering a salad which we had already done (my friend just wanted more food). Been here a few times - service is only ever ok and food is the same. One of a few half decent places in the Castro but wouldn’t rush to be back.

Fable is a great little cozy neighborhoods bistro with also garden outdoor seating. Staff is nice and comfortable. We were seeking comfort foods and they did not disappoint. Lore was our waitress and was patient and thorough in explaining meals. Her recommendations were perfect..the lamb special and vegan lasagne...so yummy. The little gemCeasars salad was perfect with a delicious dressing and Parma cheese. Thank you Lore for your attention and making sure we were pleased. The gentleman who met us was also smiling and co.pliments to the cook! We will be back

Best time had! Excellent service and the food was delicious and ABUNDANT! Our server was on point, gave us wine tastings and steered us in the right direction of the Malbec. Highly recommend this spot! We'll be back!
Lucked out on a beautiful, sunny SF and was seated in the patio immediately. We had some guests not able to show up and they were able to accommodate. The waiter was extremely friendly and checked up on us frequently. He gave us great suggestions and treated us like gold. The food was spectacular and the drinks were just as great. Will be going back for sure!
The garden room was super quant and helped celebrate a great father daughter time. The mussels were amazing and had a wonderful bottle of Chianti to go with our dinner of lasagna and the pork chop. Great place and delicious dinner!
