Very nice neighborhood restaurant. Plenty of gluten-free options. Servers are very knowledgeable of the menu! Dessert was fantastic. And the cornbread is gluten-free and delicious! If we ever make it back to SF, we're definitely stopping for dinner again!Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten-free options!

Best meal ever! Lovely and tasty food without allergens. They have a soul and heart in their service. Actually safe and amazing for celiac diners!Dietary restrictions: Their website has ingredients lists. It was very helpful to check out some menu items in advance. Gluten free and dairy free options are amazing!

This has been one of my stable/consistent neighborhood favorites for about 15 years! They have been around for about 30 years now. The entire menu is gluten free for those who need it. And menu items rotate on-off for seasonal variance with a core set of items always staying! They even do Jewish high holiday specific menues!Overall, the service is super friendly, quirky, and super accommodating. The food has always been outstanding. From the core items, two things I ALWAYS get are the Daikon radish cake (yeah, that doesn’t sound good but my god, it’s amazing, trust me) - the broth, mushrooms and scallions all blend to make such the perfect bite. The other thing I get is the fried chicken. Yep, you heard me correctly. It’s fantastic, as is the biscuit with honey and the mashed potatoes. I will warn you, it comes with a small side of hot sauce that is tasty but hits like you ate the center of the sun. lol!!! You have been warned.Bar is beer and wine only. They do allow corkage but don’t be a jerk and bring something they have on the menu and make sure it’s an elevated bottle (and off a tasting to the server or bar team if it is a special bottle) - I hate when people bring a cheap bottle to avoid buying from the restaurant.Anyway, this place is always worth a stop and has never let me down in 15 years. Good food, not Michelin quality but flavors that will make you happy, and an environment that feels comfortable, homey/warm. (Plus, they have a nice outside parklet on the two days it’s nice in SF) ?Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options and with new cycled in items, the enchiladas are veggie and my husband loved themParking: Free street parking around the neighborhood but plan on driving around a bit to find a spot. Always best to Uber, Lyft, or Waymo

Firefly was our first dinner in San Francisco, and it was a great choice! All of the staff was knowledgeable and helpful about allergens. They marked the menu so that I could avoid the few items with gluten or soy. Most of the menu was top 5 allergen free. We loved our dinner and the dessert was spectacular! The chef is amazing at creating complex flavors and new takes on traditional dishes. I would recommend this place to anyone!

I loved the ambiance, perfect for taking my Son out to a birthday dinner. Our party of three, one whom is a vegan all found plenty on the menu that appealed to our varied tastes and dietary needs. We had to wait a bit for our table but we were offered the drinks menu and soon we were waiting with a glass of wine. Service was excellent and noise level allowed for good conversation.

Another sensational dinner. Highlights: butternut squash soup, banana cake with ginger ice cream, key lime pie with meringue, zucchini pancakes, meatloaf. This place is my favorite restaurant in the City.

Dinner with 2 people who want hearty dinners, 2 vegans, 1 on a diet, and 1 gluten free and fodmap restricted eater, while also looking for a nice upmarket dining experience?! Thanks to Firefly this was not only possible but amazing. They marked up a menu to make sure we knew what was safe for the allergies, even offering alterations to the menu to make more dishes accessible. Everyone enjoyed a wonderful dinner and service was excellent. Highly recommend if you have dietary restrictions. Give them a heads-up ahead of time and you will feel well taken care of.

Fantastic neighbourhood restaurant, friendly, attentive staff, food is outstanding and unpretentious. Ambience is cosy and homely and stylish. I had the Japanese-style trout and my husband the fried chicken (which he pronounced one of the best he'd ever had).

Firefly is a gem and we are so fortunate to have such a special place in our neighborhood. It's a versatile restaurant and will make happy a small intimate party or a large energetic group. As a vegan, I feel like they are thoughtful and accommodating and never make us feel like we are putting them out by ordering vegan. The menu choices are wonderful and we always feel included in every experience. I hope they are around for years to come.

The cheesy buns are dense gougeres and have to be some of the best I've ever tasted. The accompanying pesto and onion jam were delightful. Had three veg dishes and the fried chicken which is sadly nothing like the exquisite bird I've tasted from them before. Rather dried out and batter clung to it like plastered hair in the rain. Disappointing. Sweet potato tostones were too heavily glazed, very PF Chang-y. But the gougeres honestly made up for it. I would definitely go again and get four plates of cheesy buns.

Came to FireFly for my husbands birthday dinner. We were delighted with their food menu, delicious meals, and good service. The staff were attentive and accommodating. They moved us to a better table upon our request since we were initially seated near the front door and the cold wind would blow through indoors at our table every time the door was opened. We had the shishito peppers salad, delicious fried chicken, and rock fish seafood dish. I hope their model sustains and they stay around longer. We hope to return again. Truly a gem in the neighborhood.

This place was so good. The atmosphere was very chic and cool without trying too hard. The service was great. Almost everything on the menu was gf execute one thing (a biscuit) so that was amazing. And what’s even better? It was actually all AMAZING!We started with the cheesy buns with arugula-walnut pesto and onion jam. I am obsessed with them and wish i could go back for more. Then my husband ordered the fried heritage chicken with mashed potatoes & gravy, horseradish slaw and buttermilk biscuit and he said it was delicious. I also tried his dish and thought it was very good and flavorful!I had the baked Mac n cheese with cheddar, Gruyère, and Parmesan bread crumbs. YOU GUYS I thought they messed my order up. It looked too good to be true and tasted even better. I flagged down the waitress and double checked it was gf, and it was. I dream about it to this day.We tried the olive oil cake with candied kumquats and it was delicious! They actually gave us another dessert on the house and it was a wonderful pumpkin, sour cream I can’t even describe it. I believe it was seasonal but for sure ask about it!If you’re reading this and you’re the waitress who accidentally almost took my husbands plate away before he was done - seriously stop feeling bad we thought it was hilarious and you were all so nice! ?Vegetarian options: Everything vegetarian looked delicious! Several yummy options with actual flavors and profiles!Dietary restrictions: Awesome gf and vegetarian options I’m not sure about dairy free or other allergies but the staff was well informed and helpfulParking: Parking here was a nightmare. It was a weekday night but still - we walked over a mile to get to it. There weren’t any parking garages nearby.Kid-friendliness: You could bring your kids here but I wouldn’t say it’s overly kid friendly. The vibe is much more chill, the lighting is kinda dim, the table spaces aren’t huge.
