My husband and I dine out alot in the city, and frequently at Florio and we find the restaurant to be one of our favorites. First, the food, be it steak, pasta or fish is always superb. The wait staff are experienced and very friendly. The bartender is skilled with traditional drinks and the exotic. It is a great venue for celebrations. Nick

5 stars for everything. We booked a reservation online for a group of 7 night before Saturday dinner. We were pleasantly surprised to be seated in a private dining area, which made the dinner special.The food tasted like it was made with care. The service was wonderful too.

We have eaten at Florio several times. It is a nice restaurant. Not spectacular, just nice. The food is good, again not excellent, just good solid quality at a good price. The maître d' is consistently rude. He acts as though he does not care if one wants to patronize the restaurant or not. We would not characterize him as welcoming. Service is generally good. It could probably be better if there was an extra server and back-boy. We recommend Florio but with reservation. Just know what you are getting into.

Server was not attentive and not professional. Maître d was very dry and not at all friendly or welcoming or gracious. Too bad, as the food was excellent. The staff almost ruined our visit.

We left before even sitting at the bar when the barman welcomed us by saying we were not welcomed where we got seated. He didn't even bother giving us a menu and made a face when we asked for one. We prefer to spend our money where we are welcome. We went to SPQR next door and had the best time!!!

Florio is always great! The food and cocktails are divine. The service is exemplary. The vibe is chill luxury with a dash of revelry. It's my go to neighborhood spot and place to celebrate too! The bartenders are also awesome!
I was looking for a spot to grab dinner with my husband before a show and wanted a cozy spot with delicious food and a good atmosphere and Florio did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the vibe was exactly what I was looking for. Would highly recommend!

Another excellent experience at Florio! We were celebrating our 5th anniversary and it was perfect. Great cocktails with an order of focaccia with tapenade. Wife had the cioppino and I had Cassio de Pepe. Jerry our server picked a perfect bottle of wine for us-gelato for after. We visit the Bay Area 2x a year and always visit Florio. Go!

Food was decent...some dishes a bit salty. The main negative was the noise level. For such a cozy, neighborhood bistro on a Thursday evening, it was painfully loud...near impossible to converse.
I love this place, nice food, ambiance, and service. Only thing I don't like is that they add 7% to the bill. I know there are a lot of costs, fees, taxes, etc. associated with a restaurant, but please just add it to the price of the food. I know it's because people from out of town don't notice as they're not used to it and therefore add their normal tip, but that's not a good reason. I personally just deduct the 7% from my normal 20% tip so it doesn't make a difference to me.

The pasta bolognese was too peppery. The crusted mushrooms had little mushroom flavor. Broccolini and focacia were excellent. Next time I'll order the Halibut or pepper steak. High noise level which made conversation difficult. I prefer SPQR which is next door,relativerly quiet and has more imaginitive offerings. UInfortunately SQR is close is closedTuesdays. The partrons at the bar were raucous which made ordering a LIft or Uber cab impossible but we did get a yellow cab promptly. The service of the wait staff was fine although I ordered a Manhattan with ice which came up in a cocktail glass which the waiter corrected quickly bring me ice. If one wanmts to impress out of town go to SPQR, Boulevard State Bird,,Atalier Crenna. Be prepared to spenf $500/person for the last. David Fisher

My cousin was in town for a quick business meeting so we only had time to meet for dinner. I was really hoping to go somewhere with great food and service where we could catch up and Florio definitely delivered. We had such a great experience here and will definitely be back again! The food was incredibly delicious and the servers are so kind and attentive. One of our favorites was the truffle arancini! Can't wait to go back for those and try more dishes!

Over the years, I have dined in Florio many times for business and personal occasions. The food and service have never failed to meet or exceed expectations, making Florio my “go-to” dining establishment for a predictably pleasant time with friends, family & coworkers. Our dinner on 11 January was for a very special family occasion. Unfortunately, our server's attitude & behavior ruined this special evening. While the food (hangar steak, burger, halibut, & squid ink pasta) were all prepared with the usual care, our server's attitude and behavior created a bad taste, which negated the kitchen's solid effort with our dishes. Very unfortunate, & completely avoidable. I am not sure if this is Florio's new approach to service, but it certainly left a poor impression on us long-time diners. I will be thinking long and hard before making another reservation at Florio.
