Really great pizza with a crispy, chewy crust cooked to perfection (got that "leoparding" as the pizza geeks call it) and a bunch of different pies ranging from traditional NY style to a great looking lamb and sumac topping we'll be back to try. We also had SUCH a great cheesecake for dessert. And, the wine list is well appointed with great notes on every glass and bottle, the espresso coming out with our neighbors' dessert smelled great, and the folks working here were soooo nice and so fast to swing by the table to ask if we needed anything. Cozy and friendly inside, full of cheerful locals - a great place for a Saturday date or a quick meal on a weeknight. Maybe my new #1 favorite pizza place in SF. We'll be back over and over!

5 stars for the pizza. It’s very good. 2 stars for the very rude woman leaning on the counter that was clearly exasperated by patrons existing in the impossibly small storefront. Don’t offer pick up if you can’t talk to people with some sort of politeness. There are ways to tell people to politely step aside, and where to step aside to, without making them feel like you don’t want them there at all. The short, rotund woman with short gray hair needs to learn how to direct and talk to people. As much as I like their pizza I will not be frequenting Gialina again any time soon.

Flavors in sauce are great. Good sauce to cheese to dough ratio. Dough a little dry. But overall very good. Staff is rude. I get that they're busy on weekends, but this is no excuse. When I called to place my order I said "New York style pizza." "DO YOU MEAN NEW YORK NEW YORK?" What do you think I mean? The previous time I called I said "Just a plain cheese pizza" and they corrected me to "Do you mean New York style?" I wish they'd be consistent in how they DEMAND that people very specifically order their pizzas. The place also has the ambiance of a mall pretzel shop, interior decorwise (or lack thereof.) Theres also no sign letting you know they exist. Just a plastic sign along the side that says "Pizza." But it's packed. So packed you can't move in there, and the staff get even ruder once you're inside. I went in with a good mood, came out with a very bad mood. I guess they don't need to advertise by having a sign with the name of the place anywhere on the building. And they don't need to be nice to customers. Or have hours that are accurate to what's posted on their website or google. Their pizza is just that good. Good pizza, but bad pizza buying experience. I might go there again, but only after I've psyched myself up to handle the abuse.

What a great business with absolutely some of the best pizza in SF. Did take out for a big party (6 pies) and Sharon worked with me so I got the correct amount of food, and everything I needed. The NY pizza is so, so New Yorky, I love it, but the four cheese was also crave-able , and others were also delicious. The pies are a good size also, easily serve 3-4 people.

Amazing neighborhood spot with quirky warm friendly staff. Tasty pizza and love the Albariño.

Had very high expectations just based on what I've heard. Was disappointed. Ordered two pies - the atomica and another seasonal pie. Disappointed - nothing stood out. The crust was meh, the sauce / cheese idk didn't do it for me. Really enjoyed the side of grits with cheese, salad we had ordered. The dessert pie was probably the saving grace. It was delishhhhh. Friendly and quick service and very cozy place :)

18 years been coming to one of the most beautiful authentic Italian establishments in the USA. Fabian, Anya and Sam greeted me with such loving kindness the minute I walked in. The food couldn't be better. The service is always on par. It feels like Cheers with a Mischlin star. I don't know why I go anywhere else in the neighborhood for the finest pizza.

Very mom & pop esque ambiance. Similar to Cheese Boutique down the street. Margarita style. I admit the on is different but Just as good as Goia's and Yellow Moto across town. Too bad it's not open late. Not too many late night spots on the westside of the city.

Stopped by here and was able to get a seat without a reservation. Besides the food being incredible the staff rocked and the neighborhood felt intimate and friendly. We got the burrata appetizer which was incredible and the peach hot pizza which I haven't stopped thinking about since. Definitely go.

Gialina is a great neighborhood spot for Californian Italian dinner. In search of the best pizza in SF, I've been exploring every restaurant I can. I tried the Atomica pizza, which has been on their menu for over a decade. It sounded great - comes with mushrooms, Calabrian, chilies, mozzarella, and red onion. The pizza was just OK. Unfortunately, the flavor was quite subtle - I was expecting much more punch. The dough itself needed salt, and some slices were nicely browned / bordering burnt (which I love), and others were barely browned at all. What actually saved the day was the brussels sprouts salad, which was unbelievably good, and I would go back just for this. the tiramisu was also solid, but a little too dense from being refrigerated for so long. The perfect tiramisu to me is much more light and airy. All in all, a solid spot I'd go back to.

Tiny little artisan pizza place in San Francisco. Gluten free crusts if that is your thing. The 4 cheese pizza was good until it cooled down into a cheese cracker. They also forgot to put the hot honey on the pepperoni pizza. We had to ask for it. Next time I should try the pepperoni with hot honey on a real crust.
