The chirashi don had amazing fish, but I didn't love the rice, which seemed a tad overcooked and dressed in an unexpected sauce. Service was inattentive.

great place for classic japanese! they have a wide variety of options, covering sushi, udon, and various hot dishes & dons. highly recommend the saba shioyaki (salt grilled mackerel) for a classic japanese breakfast vibe. the karaage and tofu agedashi were also really good.

Nice restaurant, mediocre, sushi, not a very authentic Japanese experience. There was not a Japanese soul anywhere in the restaurant on either side of the counter. Some of the items are way over-priced for the quality and quantity. One (single) tuna nigiri sushi is $7 for example. I was looking forward to try this place after seeing the reviews, but now I am suspecting many of them may not be genuine.

I usually come here for special occasions and would spend a lot for their omakase, but I've discovered that their lunch menu is very reasonably priced, and the food tastes very authentic. Have tried their katsu don, oyako don, and poke. Both dons are cooked traditionally in a broth with egg before plating on rice, just putting that out there since I've seen people complain that their katsu is wet at other Japanese places that do the same thing.Pokes also good, would definitely be working through their menu in the future.

If I could give this place 6*, I would. For price, taste and value, one of the best in SF. Highly recommend it.
It’s kind of small Japanese restaurant, but food was good. Nigiri are fresh and the rice was brown rice which was impressed!Healthy and tasty. ?

Before I begin, I’d like to mention that this is my all time favorite sushi place in San Francisco. I’ve been here numerous times and take anyone I want to impress here. With that being said, I finally got to experience the Valentine’s Day Omakase and was extremely disappointed. For 160 dollars per person, our experience was disregarded with many items missing from the various presentations. The seafood was low quality, there was too much wasabi in the nigiri, sea urchin was used for multiple dishes (nothing new for around four courses), and everything was rather quite lazy. I really do love these chefs but maybe the constant shots they drank throughout the night affected the way these meals were prepared. The usual place I go to for omakase was booked (Robin) which is less expensive with higher quality fish and much better service. Me and my boyfriend have never felt so disregarded when it comes to omakase and I’m afraid we won’t be coming back. There was even multiple moments throughout the night where we heard other guests murmur about the omakase selections not being good and was extremely expensive for what it was. Even though this was our personal experience, I don’t discourage anyone from eating here at any other time. Like I said, this is my favorite sushi restaurant in all of San Francisco, but this omakase experience was definitely regretful.
