Chicken Rice ($14.75) poached chicken, rice, steamed greens, kmg sauce, ginger scallion sauce, & chicken soup: My second time having this! Love that they give both chicken breast and chicken thigh. I love chicken thigh so I always eat the breast first haha I wasn't a fan of the sauce on the greens, I prefer eating it with no sauce. The rice is super flavorful and they cook it using the chicken fat. It's a super hearty bowl and super filling!

Hands down. The BEST SE Asian food you will find in the Bay Area. The Hainan chicken u0026 rice is legit legit legit. Their curry noodle. Their fresh veggies. Their sandos. Everything. Is. FRIKKEN. Delicious. Hainan Chicken is melt in your mouth moist, flavors are always on point, generous portions, and most of all - consistent. every. time. Don't let the location fool you. The walk up counter in BayShore makes this a super casual spot you can enjoy under their covered patio. For me, I gotta hit up Hawker Alley Co-Op every time I am in San Francisco, order ahead for takeout, and easily hop back on 101. It's super clear the chef here cares about flavor, quality, and depth. They've done a fantastic job bringing the unassuming but incredibly scrumptious cuisine of SE Asia to the Bay Area in their own yet authentic way. The best part? This is a co-op with the Good Gais and Chairman Truck's infamous Coca Cola braised pork baos. Which means you get an amazing variety of top quality street food as if you were in Singapore/Malaysia! I could go on about their expansive menu but JUST GO AND CHECK EM OUT already and get yourself hooked on the best kept secret in SF.

Chairman & Good Gai's in one place. No need to look for the Chairman truck, come here and get it everyday! Except the weekends. They're closed.Ambiance/Service This is more of a take away spot but there is an outdoor patio. Service is quick as you order from the window and they'll call your name when your food is ready. Remember to ring the bell to let them know you're ready to order.Food! Ohh the food! From ChairmanSteamed buns. Try them all! 5/5They're pillowy and freshly steamed. My favorite is the miso cured tofu. The tofu has a light batter crisp with a crunch from the choy. Always my go to!Pork belly - Can't go wrong with the classic pork belly either! Melts in your mouth with the sweet miso glaze. From the Good Gai'sChicken rice - solid! 4/5 rice is full of flavor, chicken is juicy and moist. The sauces are all amazing!Crispy Gai 5/5Must try! The best thing on the menu IMO. The fried chicken is so crispy and tender and the curry sauce is the best! The rice and slaw all go really well together! Basil Chicken 4/5Packed with flavor with a hint of spice. Comes with a runny egg and rice. Yum!Tenders and fries 5/5Got this for the kiddo. He enjoyed it. Crisp fries and chicken. Easy pick for kids and adults =)Overall great spot for a quick lunch! Lots of variety. Wish I could make it out more often. Until next time!

Review is based on 1 visit. This location services Good Gais and The Chairman. Ordered the chicken rice and crispy chicken skin. Overall, nothing remarkable about the chicken rice and crispy chicken skin. Good enough that I wouldn't mind ordering the item again. The rice is fragrant enough. There's a pleasant amount of garlic and lemongrass. The dark meat and chicken breast are fairly tender. Chicken breast is moist. The chicken meat does not come with chicken skin. I was hoping for the traditional spicy sauce with ginger and soy sauce. The rice came with a dark green sauce that was okay, and one ginger and green onion sauce that you would get with plain chicken at a Chinese restaurant. I am disappointed at the chicken skin and most likely will not order the item again. So the chicken skin that didn't make it the rice got fried and sold as a separate item. Never bought crispy chicken skin before. The crispy chicken skin taste very much like pork grinds. What disappointed me is that the chicken skin pieces consistently had small amount of unplucked finer feather left which get fried. The crispy chicken skin also included a fair amount of the "tail" with small amount of unplucked stuff left inside the skin. If you know about chicken "tail", you know there's usually some stuff that is left behind after removing the feathers. I wish more effort was spent cleaning up the chicken skin. If I am ever in the area again, I would not mind going back again to try the other items.

I was getting my window fixed at a Maz's Auto Shop just down the street on Bayshore and I had about an hour to kill before I could pick up my car. I found Hawker Alley on Yelp and figured I'd check it out. Hawker Alley has a few different restaurant pop-ups including Chairman Bao and Good Gais. I went for Good Gais and grabbed a seat in their seating area. They had a steady flow of patrons and everyone looked happy to be there. See my review for Good Gai's here:

This a great location to get a Hawker Alley fix without the hassle of going downtown. With easy highway access, tons of parking it allowed me to get a Chairman Rice Bowl for takeout with minimum BS on my drive home. The space serves both the Good Gai, and The Chairman menus, and the service for me was swift after a ring of the bell to get counter attention. My Rice Bowl was assembled quickly, and I was heading home in a matter of minutes. As for the meal it was yummy with each element well seasoned from the Rice, Pickled Vegetables, to the deeply flavored Meat, plus it had some kick from the spice. The price point was fair so yea I was happy. There is also the option to sit down with a large covered seating area provided.

Was in the Bayshore neighborhood to run some errands and was looking for a chicken sandwich. I have been here previously when it was only The Chairman but it looks like they upgraded their concept to be able to house multiple vendors. These types of spots are always a little preferable to me since not everyone always wants to eat the same thing. At least here there are a fair amount of options for buns and if you want something a little more meal like you can get the chicken rice. Hawker Alley is the home to the Chairman food truck and Good Gai's, a Thai Chicken rice (khao man gai) spot. If you haven't tried Good Gai's before I highly recommend the Crispy Gai's, which is marinated fried chicken with fragrant rice, karedok salad, GG's red curry, tamarind sweet chili, and peanut dressing. It's nice and crunchy and I should update my review since it was added since I originally reviewed ( ) Today I ordered the Baked Karaage Chicken Tenders which comes with Spicy Aoli, Yuzu Honey Mustard, Cabbage Slaw on a baked brioche bun. The bun is more similar to the bun for baked char sui bao so it's got a nice honey flavor to it. The chicken is nice and crispy and the sauce gives it some good flavor. If you want to kick it up a notch get some chili sauce on the side. That stuff is tasty, their homemade version of siracha sauce. Also got a couple of the Steamed Crispy Tempeh (Vegan) with Roasted Carrot Puree, Chili Pickled Carrots & Hijiki Seaweed, Daikon Sprouts because I need to balance out with some veggies because I always get the pork Belly lol. I was able to order online ( ) and food was ready for pickup when I arrived. Just make sure to choose the right location before you order. They have a couple locations, one out in the bayshore area and one spot down in FiDi. I came to the spot in Bayshore which had enough street parking nearby and is mainly surrounded by industrial building so pretty much you are coming here to eat/pick up Buns and Chicken rice. I just saw they added a nice sit down area to eat your food if you are eating there for lunch. Plenty of seating and it's outdoors with a roof so great for this time while we are still keeping social distance. Food as usual was on point and I look forward to my next trip to this new concept from The Chairman/Good Gai's TL;DR: Everything is good but top items here are the pork belly buns and if you like fried chicken with some bomb sauce try the Crispy Gai's.

I was introduced to this spot via a Yelp event, how lucky was that?! The food was amazing, the backstory of the proprietors was cool, it's the kind of business you feel good about patronizing. The food itself, amazing! The bao bao's from the Chairman were the most delicious I've had. The pork belly were especially delicious. We also had Good Gais Crispy Gai bowl. It was so good and such a nice portion. You can't go wrong with these guys.

Can we talk about this amazing crispy gai rice bowl they have? Every single element of the bowl was so good and flavorful. My favorite would have to be that lemongrass red curry sauce. I want to put that on EVERYTHING. I finished my bowl today and am already craving for it again! Loved that it also came with a side of soup. Will definitely be back to try more items from here!

In preparation for the Zoom Yelp Elite event this coming Wednesday I ordered the kit for pickup today. In addition I placed an online separate order for two sandwiches- the baked chicken karaage & the baked Coca Cola braised pork. There are two locations. I selected the Oakdale Av location. It's on a corner surrounded by many industrial buildings. I parked across the street and walked over. I requested pickup time 11:15am. I walked up to the pickup window around 11:05am. Not ready yet but she'll call my name. My daughter & I waited at the outdoor parklet. Within minutes my order was ready. We drove home. Plated the sandwiches. Of the two I liked the karaage chicken tenders more. Both good size served on brioche buns. Good price point for comparable sandos. About a 20 minute drive but more convenient than the FiDi location.
