I came here for a team happy hour and I have to say, you should definitely make reservations if you are planning on coming with a group because this place fills up pretty fast. We were so thankful we did. While we were there, there were three other groups there with their own reservations. Since this place isn't terribly big, it got really loud and I could barely talk to the person next to me. Maybe it's just because I'm hard of hearing, I'm not sure, but that was a bummer. Once the two hour window for our reservation was over, we moved closer to the bar and that was a lot better. It made a world of difference for us and it made it easier for all of us to talk to each other as a group. Next time I make reservations, I'm going to ask if we have the spot behind it because it's super ideal! The drinks and food were pretty delicious and full of variety which was really nice with all of them being reasonably priced also. Overall, I would definitely come back but just make sure to sit closer to the bar next time!

Highly recommend! We hosted a corporate event at Heartwoods SF last week. Tristen and his team were incredible throughout the whole process. The food, service, and ambiance were perfect, and the kitchen and bar team were attentive throughout the night. 10/10!

Summary: Tasty bites served alongside well-crafted drinks Details: As expected from the folks who brought us Beehive and Third Rail, Heartwood is yet another addition to their collection of sister bars that serves up some excellent artisan cocktails and tasty eats, inside a moody, modern vibe. Between the three of us, we went through a good chunk of their menu, and were pretty pleased with every drink we tried, so you can't go too wrong there. The few bites we got were also tasty, though the beef tallow fries are a must have, and were, in fact, probably one of the best fries I've had in recent memory. The crowd seems like it can vary pretty drastically day to day, though given its location in the FiDi, I'd imagine it to be busier on weeknights than weekends: we actually came on a Saturday night, staying for a good three to four hours, and found that it never got too busy, aside from a group that had rented out half the bar earlier in the evening. Accessibility: Huge, spacious venue, with a mix of seating options, though the most accessible spot is likely to be the lower accessible counter at the bar itself. Generally pretty easy to get around, though if someone's rented out part of the space and rearranged the furniture, you may find things to be a little more difficult than usual.

Didn't try any of the food here, but had a really good experience here with happy hour/drinks on a random week day recently. I knew it opened recently and some friends who loved whiskey said it was a great new whiskey bar, so had to come check it out for myself. The place was intimate, and unfortunately we came during some conference or convention, so it was actually packed even at open. However, the service was still quick, and the drink list was extensive. I enjoyed their renditions of Old Fashioned and dig their spirit selection. Great spot for HH!

Great service and ambiance. Delicious hot buttered cider. My partner loved the wine and cheese plate, which was huge. So many interesting cocktails I'd love to try sometime. I'd definitely come here again if I was downtown.

Great food, spirits, and service. My organization hosted a Happy Hour at Heartwood and it was a great spot to socialize and enjoy good eats and spirits. Event booking was seamless and the coordinator Phil was really helpful with all of the arrangements. Immediate and fast service upon arrival and we always felt very taken care through out the entire time we were there. Will book there again!

This is a fun place with excellent bar tenders and well constructed, high quality cocktails. I didn't try the food but seeing what others ordered, it looks delicious.

Came here for a friend's birthday, you can rent out a section of the bar for events which was nice. I got the drink Leaf Water, which me and my friend agreed was delicious. Fries were pretty good too. Service here was attentive and friendly. Seems like a great spot for a date or casual hang.

Great new spot in FiDi! The fried chicken sandwich was super tasty, and the beef tallow fries were delicious. I can’t wait to come back and take advantage of their outdoor seating.

I had a Happy Hour here last night. Cute little spot that got sectioned off for us. I feel like this place would be so lovely on a weekend at night cause there was also outdoor seating as well. We got some appetizers and I enjoyed all of them. The chicken in the first picture had a little kick. The pigs in a blanket was flaking and so good, never had it flakey like that. I enjoyed the fresh fries. The one thing was that there wasn't any meats on the charcuterie board and I wish they did. All in all, everything was good from the snacks to the drinks. The place was super clean as well. Stop by here!

Tucked down Commercial, it could be easy to roll right past the place, but if you can avoid that, you will definitely be glad you stopped. Staff were all great, and the decor of the place was something between refined and unpretentious. Good drink selections, with the top being the órale, which is a mixture mezcal and tequila with chili spices and red pepper. As someone who doesn't like sweet drinks, this one is decidedly savory without feeling like a cliché novelty. Equally delicious was the beef tallow fries which were crispy, salty, and sumptuous. Those got paired with an amber ale that was a splendid combination. I will definitely be back and recommend you stop by as well.

Clarified milk punch reviewMilk punch: toki whisky, plum wine, oolong tea, lime, ginger, honeyThis was the milk punch that I needed this night. Refreshing and light. Plum flavor came through. Slight tannic and herbal from the oolong. Nice offering from heartwood.
