Every visit or delivery has been a more than satisfying experience.The food is fresh and cooked to order but served quickly.We've only eaten there once but have gotten food delivered many times.The atmosphere is mellow and soothing and unless you look out the window you can't tell you are on Van Ness.Everything is very clean and our waitress was perfect.The chicken teriyaki is a must-enough for two,it comes with just right white rice and salad with a unique,delicious dressing.My absolute favorite dish,I think it's the best I've ever had and we order it every time.There's nothing crazy here,the menu consists of standard Japanese fare meant to be comforting and nourishing.They have a good selection of sushi and it tastes like it was caught that very day.I could go on and on-for a romantic date I highly recommend coming here.(Note-we ate in late Sunday night,not sure how busy it is other times).Our deliveries are always hot,fresh and properly packaged.Love this place!

Casual little gem of a place in SF! I went for lunch in between sight seeing and am SO glad I did. Maki rolls are very much worth the price, especially the double double. Probably the only place I’ve ever been that gave me enough ginger. Stop by, it’s worth the visit!

This review is based on sushi delivery, so perhaps that is a factor worth considering. However, I was pretty disappointed with my order. The good news was that the food came pretty quickly. The not so good news was that that the rice for the nigiri and my roll both seemed kind of stale, hard and fell apart easily when picking up the roll with my chopsticks. The rice was so unappealing that I pretty much just ended up with a pile of rice after focusing on retrieving the avocado and salmon. As someone that is a sushi fiend, to my surprise I even left a few pieces uneaten just because it was unsatisfying. I'm giving it three stars though to give the benefit of the doubt it was an off night, but seeing that I'm rarely in SF I don't think I would order here again

It is safe to say that my mission to find the best chicken teriyaki in the city of SF has been accomplished. Ike's chicken is grilled and has the charred consistency and taste to it. Their chicken is juicy, tender, and NOT slimey. This, along with their sauce, their salad, their miso soup, and even their asparagus, makes this a divine dining experience. Ike's Japanese Kitchen is an SF gem ? ✨️ <3

I can't say enough good things about @IkesKitchen! From the moment you step in, the service is superb. The staff are incredibly lovely and thoughtful, making you feel right at home. My go-to plate here is definitely the Jjampong soup--it's a flavor explosion that perfectly balances spice with the rich, savory notes of seafood. Ike's Kitchen has nailed the art of creating a dish that keeps you coming back for more. Highly recommend to anyone craving a delicious and satisfying meal!

Delicious food!! Great service from our server and the food was so beautiful and tasted even better! The restaurant was so cozy and inviting. I loved the seating was very casual and conversation friendly. Side note: the edamame was so yummy! We got the garlic flavored and it was so flavorful. My favorite roll was for sure the to heaven!
Had two bento boxes from Ike's this evening. Based on its strong reviews, I expected to be impressed, but, instead, I was very, very disappointed. Flavors were lacking and even the rice was of poor quality and badly cooked. Ike's has earned a well deserved spot on my "Never Again" list.
