A hidden gem in Dogpatch area. Don't be afraid to get into the building, go down stairs, and find many good pastries and cakes there. I ordered the chocolate orange cake and feed 8 people easily for only $43. The cake is beautiful and taste sophisticated. Usually the chocolate cake is quite one dimensional but the orange flavor gives another dimension. Usually I give the leftover to the birthday person but I find an excuse to keep it to myself haha. Anyway, please come and enjoy. They have small cakes as well.

One of the reasons I wanted to check this place out was the iced coffee cubes (instead of iced cubes in coffee), and they did not disappoint. A simple but effective idea, and the coffee itself was very solid. The food (sandwiches in particular) is also super reasonably price and has sizable portions. The place needs better signage, but the staff was super friendly with directions :)

Great coffee (with coffee ice cubes) as well as delicious sandwiches at a very reasonable price. The place is a bit hard to find, but worth the search!

This place is such a gem. I have been getting lunch from this spot for a couple years since I moved into the area, always appreciating their working class prices and variety of specials for lunch. But ever since I had their knock-your-socks-off pumpkin pie (not even a big pumpkin pie fan), I started to give their cakes more of a go. Now I always volunteer to be the person to bring the cake to the birthday parties and everyone is always delighted. This is a feel good business to support. I hope they continue to do what they do for a long time to come.

The drinks are pretty good, but the service is abysmal. Don't know if I'd be willing to go again

You know those sterile office buildings with a sad commissary where building occupants begrudgingly pay a few bucks for vending machine-quality sandwiches? Jolt n Bolt should be what these spaces aspire to! I've always walked by, but never made it in. This place doesn't have any curb appeal, so you have to enter next to the loading dock either off Illinois or through a conspicuous door off 3rd. The actual seating area is very sparse, but I like that this place creates daily menus. They serve the simple cafe staples, but with quality: salads, sandwiches, quiche, soup, and pastries. I got a quiche combo for lunch. The salad portion was decent, and the quiche hit the spot. I also grab macaroons every time I'm here. Their pastries are by Gerhard Michler, and they are all excellent, including their chocolate chip cookies. I love seeing their big, open kitchen. The place is clean, the food is not fussy, and they offer a different entree every day (pizza, burger, etc). If you need a consistent, reliable cafe for a quick lunch grab, this is the place!

Not much when you walk in but a good spot to try if you're in the area! It's in a building so kind of a hard to find location and there's actually no sign that leads you inside the building, which definitely makes it hard to find if you're not looking for it. Standard cafe items with standard pastries. Nothing too special but would definitely come back to support a small business. They might not always have everything listed on the menu. Pro tip: eat in the outdoor area with umbrellas, better ambience than the inside!

As someone who works in this building....it's danger zone for me since their coffee and pastry's are always so consistent and delicious. Their lattes are consistent and very good! The patio area is super cool as you can watch the bakers do their magic in the kitchen. Cool environment! Staff is extremely nice too!

So i actually wasn't about to do a review hence why there are bites out the croissant, but when i took that bite i was like "hold on, i need to do a review" especially because i've been to Neighborhood Bakehouse that's not even a block away. the croissant at the bakery is amazing. i asked for it warmed and went back to work to eat it and it's so soft, like almost melt in your mouth warm and soft. No flavors are too overpowering, and just 3.75 compared to i think $5 at neighborhood bakehouse. this is a lighter croissant, nice and flaky and buttery. The one thing i liked the most was when i called for directions on how to get in, the lady was very helpful, she answered all my questions clearly and concisely so i knew exactly where to go and i appreciated that because it does get a little confusing since there are two entrances. This place is also open more days through the week than the other bakery which is also convenient because when i don't eat breakfast, I'd like a quick pastry that's soft, warm and satisfies that growling stomach. Good job Jolt n Bolt!! i saw all the bakers working hard in the kitchen doing an amazing job, and i was helped very fast. Thank you!

What a great hidden gem! Ordered and ice latte; not only was it delicious but they used coffee ice cubes so the latte wouldn't get watered down as they melted. It's not every day you come across this level of thoughtfulness *chef's kiss* (Sorry that I didn't take a pic, drank it very quickly lol)

Love this place! I used to get a sandwich + side salad for lunch all the time when I worked in the neighborhood. Totally fair prices. A gem to have close to work.

That fried chicken sandwich from yesterday's menu was insane. Best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. And I consider myself a fried chicken sandwich connoisseur. I'd be willing to sell my first born for that to become a regular item. Do the right thing, Jolt n Bolt... give the people the fried chicken sandwich that America deserves.
