this was an amazing place and i'm sad to see it closed :( checked on the website and it looks like it was a decisions made in the best interests of the owners, so good luck to them!

This place feels like such a hidden gem in the Marina! I recommend this place to all my friends looking to try a new restaurant or needing recommendations for places to bring visiting guests to. The service was wonderful; the server would explain all the ingredients in the Rainbow Noodle Salad and then go back in the kitchen to mix it all up. The wife who owns the restaurant with her husband would check in on our table from time-to-time, asking us how the food was and refill our waters. The only thing I'd point out is that they didn't leave a bottle of water at the table and my group drinks a lot of water, so we were quite parched periodically throughout the dinner waiting for someone to come refill our glasses :) Our order: -Tea Leaf Salad -Rainbow Noodle Salad (highly recommend) -Coconut Rice with Chicken Curry -Jungle Pork

The Coconut Noodle Soup was genuinely the greatest thing I ate all month. I definitely found my new comfort food!

Had a great dinner here on my last night in SF, ordered the fried lentil patties, fish soup and pumpkin shrimp. A great fusion restaurant to experience different flavors than usual. Service was very attentive and polite, would come here again!

Delicious Burmese with a great variety, strong flavors, and kind staff. Certainly recommended! Honestly think it may have beaten out the famous Burma Superstar family in my book.... Really good.

This was a super disappointing burma experience. Mg boyfriend and I came here for date night one Friday before meeting up with friends. He had not yet tried burmese food before so I had originally proposed Burma Superstar (LOVE that spot). We opted for this place so that we could walk and save time. From the outside and based on the yelp reviews this place looked solid, but to our surprise it was one of the most underwhelming sf dining experiences thus far! The location is on a main street so parking may be a bit iffy. You can park closer to Moscone fields and walk over which will probably be the easiest and most stress-free! We didn't have a reservation but were seated instantly! I was starving so right off the bat we started with the coconut curry dip + paratha. My boyfriend got a beer but I just stuck to water as I had been drinking at our apt already! It took about 40 minutes for our starter to come out and they really thought nothing of it which was wild to me!! I would have understood if the place was packed but honestly that was not the case. When it came I could not even finish it! I am a s***** for paratha, but the curry dip was so bland and flavorless. It tasted like I was dipping my paratha in straight coconut milk! Next up we ordered the lamb dish (similar to Burma Superstar's Chili Lamb..or so I thought) and Street Noodles! We also got a side of rice to enjoy with the lamb. This food also took forever to come and we were starting to lose patience by the time it all finally came. Unfortunately, these dishes were also pretty blah! The noodle flavors were just not there and the lamb basically tasted like it was smothered in all spice. We ended up not even finishing any of the 3 dishes and asking for the check. I actually came home and ate something from the fridge because I was not full or satisfied from this meal! I recommend going to Burma Superstar if you are in the mood for Burmese..we have really been hit or miss with asian spots in the Marina so choose wisely or go the extra mile to get something you know will be good!

Karaweik is a wonderful addition to the restaurants on Steiner Street! Our party of 2 enjoyed the tasty Tea Leaf salad, crispy Chili Fish with aromatic Coconut Rice, and savory Paratha with Coconut Curry. We look forward to coming back! :-)

We walked by this place and decided to try it. The food was good but I have had better burmese in the city. The Royal tea leaf salad was my favourite!

THIS PLACE IS CLOSING DOWN IN 2 MONTHS! EAT THERE BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE! You won't regret it! The paratha is a must-have--so perfectly delicately crispy. I'm so sad this family-owned establishment is closing. They are such sweet people who make delicious food with excellent quality ingredients.

One of the BEST meals we had during our long weekend in SF. The food was amazing!!! We were groaning out loud and wondering if it was our prior trip to the Apothecarium just down the street for goodies or if the food was that amazing but I think it was a combo of both. The servers were really nice and had good recommendations for us. I highly recommend the roti, Shan tofu salad and beef masala. WOW. The roti is hot, crispy and buttery and the coconut curry is very coconuty and yummy. The beef masala is tender and flavorful. Definitely not spicy so ask for extra chilies on the side if you want more heat. The Shan tofu salad was so unique. The tofu was marinated and almost a little cured by the dressing so it had a texture and taste reminiscent of paneer. Amazing!! I usually get tea leaf salad but went with this on the recommendation of the server and I'm glad I chose this. The coconut rice has the right hint of coconut infused in it. Definitely a worthy vessel of curry. Happy hour is a bonus. Cheap selection of drinks and appetizers. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and they offer heat lamps if you choose to dine outside on a chilly evening. 5/5 for everything all around!

Although the staff are extremely nice and they are clearly understaffed due to the current labor shortage, the food was not the best. The lettuce was soggy and not fresh. In my opinion, the quality might have been off just tonight as there are great reviews for this place. So hopefully the food will reflect the overall review when you visit.

Best Tea Leaf Salad (even better than more popular restaurants). The rest of the menu is fine for me. Service has been a bit of a mess/short-staffed this last year, but it really depends on the day. They are always friendly, though! I'm giving five-stars for the salad, which I would happily eat every day... Maybe four stars for everything else!

The appetizers are really good. One of the best tea leaf salads I've had. The keema parotta, paratha with coconut curry are very good. However, I had a bad time with the garlic noodles and chicken with lentils I ordered. The restaurant was a little slow that day and I don't think my last experience is indicative of the quality of the restaurant

Got the green tea leaf salad and the chicken satay (not pictured). BEST Burmese salad to date and that chicken was incredible and impeccably cooked and prepared. All in all amazing. I’m only in SF for a couple days but will probably come here again - it was THAT good.

Food was great, and service very friendly! For appetizer, we had the chicken filled paratha. For $10, it is a small portion on the pricier side. While tasty, I would skip next time and just get mains. The tea leaf salad was the best part of the whole meal- flavorful, refreshing, and had great texture. The beef curry was also great and tender, but a bit on the oily side. We opted for coconut rice ($4), but it wasn't coconut-y enough to justify paying extra for premium rice. They have happy hour items too, like $3 for Sapporo beer, and $7 for small bites. Would definitely come back!
