Everything was so delicious and tasted authentically like dishes we'd had in Marrakech. The only disappointment was that in Morocco every meal came with bread and Khamsa did not have any. But the saffron rice was very good with the chicken and duck tagines and the bastilla was my favorite. Will definitely return!

Am intimate, friendly restaurant with excellent food and service. The couscous was incredible as was the chicken tagine. Highly recommend a stop - and don't forget the mint tea with your honeycake for dessert.

Excellent flavors: simple, friendly, and packing a punch. Ordered: chaliflor appetizer and duck tagline, with a great Japanese "snow weizen" beer: twice. Packed everything leftover to go for another round, maybe with toast. Solid service: friendly and prompt. It was a bit cold, but hey, it's winter

Well, I was surprised due to all the reviews I saw here that were simply fantastic I was so under impressed! The food was so bland and understaffed, and simply not exciting at all the food was edible. Don't get me wrong, but seriously, so lacking in flavor Also Indefinite need of seasoned staff. definitely a lackluster experience so that I will not have again at this restaurant.

Fabulous food and friendly service in a lovely atmosphere. We've tried a number of different dishes on subsequent visits and love it every time.

My dining experience at Khamsa, a charming Moroccan restaurant, was a unique blend of vibrant flavors and cozy ambiance. The restaurant staff welcomed us with warm hospitality and were consistently friendly and helpful, but there were sporadic occurrences of the service dipping slightly. However, the intimate atmosphere inside the restaurant was a delightful surprise - the space adorned with traditional Moroccan tiling and tranquil artwork, and even with limited indoor seating, the restaurant never felt packed. The standout of the evening was indisputably the food, particularly the Bastilla, a flaky pastry filled with beautifully seasoned shredded chicken, dusted with cinnamon, and saffron. This appetizer was packed with a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. Likewise, the Lamb Shank Mrouzia was another highlight. The lamb, garnished with dried fruits, was tender and merely slipped off the bone. It might have been more enjoyable if the quantity were slightly more ample. Despite the charm of the Bastilla and the Lamb Shank Mrouzia, it was disappointing to encounter dullness in some dishes. Both the chicken tagine and the Berber couscous, for instance, were a bit mixed with the meats being dry and tough, and lacking depth and spice. However, the saffron rice was fluffy and aromatic, generating a stand-alone dish that complemented the Tagine and Mrouzia well. The Tagine is also a bit wetter (and doesnt have rice) which was less expected. Although Khamsa had run out of their Moroccan lemonade and some beer options on the day of my visit, the suggested red wine pairing with the lamb was spot-on. The Za'alouk, a smoky, roasted eggplant dish, won over my palette too. To sum up, Khamsa offers a delightful foray into Moroccan cuisine with fantastic favorites like Bastilla and Lamb Shank Mrouzia, but could work on some inconsistency in their dishes and service

If you want authentic Moroccan cuisine, this is the place to go. The food is absolutely fresh and delicious, as good as what you might eat in Tangier or Fez or Marrakech. It's a small, intimate restaurant with zelige tilework and a North African vibe. The host, Zakaria, is completely on top of things, friendly and efficient. You can even have a conversation without competing with music, although you might hear a hypnotic Berber soundtrack. The made-to-order baklava and mint tea are a perfect ending.

Good food, the staff was good and helpful with their recommendations. The spot is super cute, tucked away - definitely worth a visit.

No Outdoor Seating!!! The Story - I was excited to see a delightful restaurant with outdoor patio and heaters, portrayed in the Yelp photos, in close range to the Victoria Theater. The food looked interesting and was eager to try the duck tagine. Alas, when we arrived for our Saturday 6 pm reservation, which had specified an outdoor table for 4, the manager, who had not reviewed the reservation, said she was unable to serve us outdoors when we arrived. There was one table of 2 indoors and no one else. She said only one small heater worked and that she had asked the staff to dismantle the 6 primary heat towers which had the propane tanks piled next to them...so we went to a delightful restaurant with a heated patio nearby. Considering their Yelp page specifies they have outdoor seating, my reservation specified it and the outdoor photos show the 6 heat towers working, I was irked.

First time; everyone liked pretty much everything! We chose it, in part, b/c of various picky eaters (one vegetarian, some carnivores, some spice-lovers, some vanilla palettes). Everyone was happy.

We made a last moment decision to try out a different restaurant and came to Khamsa. We were seated and treated very nicely. Our food arrived quickly and it was delicious. The three of us order the appetizers and three mains. My favorite was the lamb and beef meatballs with the lavash bread. My wife liked the basteeya. It was a very pleasant evening.Parking: This is the Mission and parking is always a challengeKid-friendliness: Out of respect to the other guests, don't bring your noisy kids here.
