We got the chocolate cake and it was really good! It's like a truffle disguised as a cake

Pleasant way to relax as you're touring the museum. Lovely atmosphere. Not memorable food.

The menu had changed significantly since my previous visit. Less choice, no hot meals, more expensive. I was disappointed with my salad which had pickled beets.Parking: Very short walk from museum

The menu is weird, no normal food just a bunch of weird sandwiches. Everything is wildly overpriced. A salmon sandwich for $25? Srsly??

Was here, tired from the Botticelli exhibition, and eating some snacks I bought, and was told to leave (can't bring outside food). I had a cup of water with me as I was leaving, and was told I couldn't brjng the glass of water with me. So I got in line and ordered a $25 Quesadilla, which had a big chicken bone in it, and the beans were lukewarm. And $4 to $5 for an Arnold Palmer. Would normally just eat outside, but was raining today. Marred an otherwise fine day at Legion of Honor. Next time I'll just bring a Jimmy John's sandwich, good grief!

What changed - a new chef ? As members, we enjoyed the Cafe for years, but in2023 the food has gotten worse and worse, while prices get higher and higher. The Cafe should echo the overall quality of the Legion instead of being a blot on the experience. Please find a new manager or new chef !

Legion of - Mediocre AND expensive food. The chicken salad was over dressed, wilted and too vinegary. The Burrata Sandwich was watery.Service: 5/5 - Self Service. Order at the counter. Take a number and the food is delivered to the table. The staff was quick and very helpful. - We sat outside. Their patio is beautiful.9-16-2023 - Lunch - Table for 2

The food is nothing special and some of the staff are rather curt but since they have a captive audience there isn't much reason to improve. Be aware you're not allow to get water in the center of the cafe despite it being set up to imply you're allow to get some yourself. There are single use disposable cups and small trash cans next to it with no sign saying don't use but some how you're suppose to know it's just for show.

Truly overpriced buratta sandwich with a pretentious security guard at the main entrance door! The dessert was OK. Get ready to see some appalling prices for the lack of quality. Spend this money on an actual good restaurant.

Been here several times, reliable spot to get a decent fill while spending time at the museum. Their quiche (which I forgot to take a photo of) is a clear winner, must try. The flavors, freshness of ingredients, presentation and an artsy feel complements the art experience itself at the Legion of Honor. Service is prompt, and ambiance lively. Giving 4 stars only because coffee needs an upgrade, a real upgrade tbh. Will of course visit again!

For $20, the small bowl of French onion soup should be hot, have a nice rich broth, the onions should be caramelized and the bread on top should have gratineed cheese. Soup was luke warm, a light yellowish grey, underflavored, with nondescript pieces of bread on top. Really below par for a basic recipe.

As someone who comes to the Legion of Honor more than a few times, I can say that this is one the more delightful places to visit for a coffee or a small bite. Situated in the beautiful Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco, the cafe offers stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the surrounding area.I was surprised with the amount of options the menu presented us. The cafe offers a variety of salads, sandwiches, and pastries, as well as a great selection of teas, coffee, and other beverages. The food is always fresh and well-prepared, with great attention paid to quality and presentation. In addition to the food, the Legion of Honor Cafe is a great place to relax and unwind. The peaceful and serene setting, combined with the museum's stunning artwork, make it the perfect place to recharge and enjoy some quiet time. It's a great spot to take a break from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco and enjoy some of the city's natural beauty.Overall, the Legion of Honor Cafe is a hidden gem in San Francisco that is well worth a visit. Whether you're looking for a quick bite, a leisurely lunch, or just a quiet place to relax, this cafe has something for everyone. I highly recommend it!

It's expensive, but always good. The specials are often really tasty -- I've had some excellent sandwiches there. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with some interesting sculptures on the patio outside. Service is always friendly. All of this makes it worth the extra cost.Parking: The official parking lot for the museum out front is pretty small and usually full, but there is plenty of parking along the street at the side of the museum. Parking is free.
