German food is not one of our regular cuisines so I was excited to try this place, based on previous reviews. Unfortunately I did not try the beers so I can’t comment on that but the food was delicious, the schnitzel was my favorite and I’ll definitely be coming back for that. I had the Linzor tort which I thought was way too sweet and the apple strudel was okay, next time I would skip the dessert
Leopold’s is a really special place, and if you enjoy Austrian/German cuisine, you should definitely visit. We’ve come here twice so far, and each time we’ve had a wonderful experience. The food is exceptional—the best Austrian/German in the Bay Area! The star of the show is the Wiener schnitzel—absolutely incredible! So they do need to reacquaint themselves with salt but food is generally well seasoned. Schnitzel is really good. Soup seems an afterthought.The kitchen can be slow so bring your patience. Service is friendly and good. Don’t rush you out.
