Affordable delicious lunch spot for people who work in downtown sf or want to grab a quick bite! You can also call ahead to order if you're in a hurry. It's nestled in a spot that might be hard to find. There's plenty of outdoor seating. I had the Roma's club sandwich and their house sauces are so delicious! Adds a creamy and spicy kick to the sandwich. Love their Dutch crunch bread too. Will be back everytime I need a lunch spot :-)

I really like Lou’s Café. The bread is always fresh and delicious, they have great selection of sandwich options, and it’s a very good value. This location is off the street in the interior of the block, so it is quiet and there is a nice, tranquil outdoor eating area next to it that is very pleasant. Highly recommend!

Fast service + delicious and creative sammies epic combo. ordered the Risky Business (hot pastrami, crab salad, bacon, avocado, pepper jack, peperoncino peppers, Lou's special sauce, and jalapeno spread + all the normal trimmings on Dutch Crunch). What a bold and beautiful sandwich! It was epic. My wife had the Veggie and it was equally good. These sandwiches are precision-crafted. They don't fall apart, very robust and balanced creations. This review was based on my DoorDash and in person experience. Ordered lunch today and I'd like to say, this place never misses. Even with delivery, food came out fantastic. Lou's cafe is my go to sandwich spot when I was working in office nearby. Decided to order lunch at Lou's and I'm so glad I did. Trust me, Lou's is one of the best sandwich spots in San Francisco. Not only do they have great tasting sandwiches but their level of service is top notch. They have an amazing team that does great under pressure and performs well. I've ordered 10+ sandwiches and I haven't had any issues. This place gets busy, especially during lunch! Make sure to sign up for their rewards program! After purchasing 10 sandwiches, you get 1 free! (In person deal).

THE BEST veggie sandwich I've ever had and this is coming from a keto queen. I'm so surprised that their veggie sandwich was my favorite out of multiple ones we tried. We came during the lunch rush and there was a bit of a wait. People who worked there were kind ands helpful. The restaurant is basically standing room only - you get your food and leave. Sodas and chips are also available. Ambiance is your basic sandwich shop.

Food was delicious! Hidden little gem. Out side seating. Mostly carry out. Friendly service. The Rachael was fantastic!

I got the chicken pesto sandwich and it was so good that I accidentally ate the whole thing even though I was only going to eat half. I was sooo full afterwards but didn't regret it. They put a sauce in the sandwich that gives it an extra kick. The part I like most about this sandwich is that even though it is large, the bread is not too thick, and it is toasted to perfection. I like this location because the cashier is very friendly and the ambiance is modern. You may need to wait awhile for your food because they have many orders. Seems like they might let you order ahead, but I haven't tried that yet.

The most decent sandwich you can get around the area. Very tasty in the meat they use and definitely worth trying if you haven't already.

Usually my favorite place to get lunch. Unfortunately it has taken a turn for the worse. I waited 5 minutes at the register, with four workers behind the counter no one acknowledged I was even there. Won't be coming back. Lou's lost a good customer

They left a white piece of plastic in my bread. I almost choked. Never coming back here.

Food here is really good! They have a variety of sandwiches. It gets really crowded by lunch time so order ahead to save some time.

Thought I would try a new place today and picked Lou's based on the reviews. I ordered a tuna salad sandwich; the cashier asked if I wanted a tuna melt. I said "no, not a melt, just tuna." They they gave me a tuna melt anyway. I just took it because I had already waited forever---it was almost 1:30pm when I ordered, but they were still swamped with customers. Maybe too busy for their own good. Sandwich was fine. Check your receipt if you go.
