French attitude without the quality to back it up. croissants must be about a week old and the iced tea is overbrewed and way too

There are so many fun and delicious pastries and teas available. The eggs benedict was pretty good but my friends did not like their quiche or croque monsieur.

We made a brunch reservation to have the tea service, but were pulled away into the savory menu options. We started with the viennoiserie and moved into poached eggs, which were cooked to four minute perfection (our request). Everything we had was great, and the service and atmosphere were lovely.

The most beautiful café and high tea environment in the city. Highly recommended. Ron Dailey by the owner and his mother. The environment is five star. The food is as good as it gets. The tea is expert level. The service is incredible. The playlist is amazing and the environment is very relaxing and uplifting. It is more expensive than a typical café because it’s 50 times better.

I had never heard of Maison Danel before. We came here for brunch with a few girlfriends. The interior is very cute, very French and made me feel like I was back in Paris. The pastry case is gorgeous and the menu has some good options. The service was friendly.Did I love it enough to want to come back again? Not quite. The experience itself was good but the food didn't wow me. The price point seemed a little high for comparable restaurants. The area is a little sketchy though you would forget that once you enter the establishment.

We stopped by for lunch and glad we did!The building and exterior façade is very typical San Francisco old downtown charm but don't let that fool you. You enter into an amazing space as if walking into an authentic French patisserie shop! Vintage tin ceiling tiles sit high above the beautiful pastry display, vibrant kitchen space and dining area. You're greeted with a smile but can't look away from those delicious pastries! Everywhere you look you're reminded how Masion Danel took the time to provide decor details as if you were in a French bistro, from the colorful fleur de lis floor tiles to the bold blue leather backed booth chairs!Another star is the food! No pictures because it was that Good! Buttery flavors in their eggs with spot on flavors all around. We left very happy and wanted to stay...just to enjoy Masion Danel's environment. We did leave eventually but we took home two boxes of treats!

Patisserie perfection! We've dined in once for a casual brunch. It was lively on a random Saturday late morning, and about 70% of the tables ordered an afternoon tea set. I also ordered a Le Classique tea set, and ordered from their extensive tea list. I can no longer consume caffeine, and they kindly provide a Caffeine-Free section on their list. I absolutely loved everything in the tea set: finger sandwiches (a cucumber sandwich of some sort was my favorite), mini croissant sandwiches, pastries, cookies, macarons, and chocolates. My husband ordered the Boeuf Bourguignon sandwich, of which he substituted his roasted potatoes for french fries, of which they mistakenly forgot the fries at first, and instead of just bringing out a plate of fries, they needed to take the whole dish away, which was a pitty so he had to wait longer. The sandwich turned out to be just alright.I also grabbed a cup of Iced Decaf Americano on my way out from their counter, which was absolutely delicious. We've also ordered pastries for special events ever since. I typically email the proprietor himself as I customize some of the orders, and he is always accommodating. We've tried their macarons, choux, Paris-San Francisco, and various croissants and have never been disappointed with the quality of their products. We did have an incident once on a Mother's Day where they gave us an order of another individual of the same name. So do be careful that they double check your order when you come to pick up orders. Due to the mishap, they were so kind to fully refund our order and we were able to try their Tarte au Citron and Quiche du Jour, which we likely would have never otherwise tried and the whole family loved it!The entire restaurant is decorated Parisian, and their bathroom continues the theming while remaining clean. The establishment is unfortunately in one of the worst areas of the Tenderloin, so we remain ordering things for pick up, so that one of us waits in a car outside and we can enjoy in the comfort of our home. They are definitely pricey and their quality of service comes and goes, but I will definitely be coming back.

I really enjoyed the teas as well as the brunch here. I didn't opt for the tea service as it is quite expensive ($98 for one, $175 for two). The highlight was the soft scrambled eggs with caviar and smoked salmon. Get extra bread to soak up the eggy goodness! Parking is not great in the area. Be prepared to step over poop and have smells of pee. Overall, 3.5 stars rounded to 4.

Came here for afternoon tea last minute as all the fancy hotels were booked. Ambiance is cozy, charming, and decked out for the holidays. Staff is friendly and warm. However the $90 tea service was definitely not worth it in my opinion. The sandwiches were nothing special- could make my own taste easily as good. The sweets were disappointing- somewhat stale mini pastries lacking flavor. I was hoping there would be scones with clotted cream, as I’m accustomed to at British high tea but unfortunately the sweets consisted of small stale cakes and pastries. The earl grey infused whipped cream was nice, but whatever was in the chocolate mousse did not sit well with my stomach.
