Just when you think the service here can't get any worse, they seem to always find the new low. Maybe they get enough customers from tourist that they don't need consistent repeat local customers like me. The service from the older gentleman is mildly passable. Pretty much pay and get out. Which you kinda get some of that in Chinatown. But the older woman is incredibly rude. To yell at paying customers at top of her lungs is unbelievable. If she can't handle it, hire help. I've finally had enough. I rather go elsewhere even if it's not as convenient.

This is where the Japanese tea garden sources their cookies from. Very delicious but one batch of cookies tastes like the oil is slightly rancid. Still love these cookies and will continue to buy and share with family and friends.

Every time I'm in the area, I always pick up cow ear cookies here because they're pretty good. Their cow ear cookies are thicker than most, but I actually enjoy it because there's more flavor and there's more of a crunch. Each bag of cow ear cookies are $6. The service here is pretty bad. It's a small family run business that consists of the parents and their son. Each experience that I've had, both the dad and son have been rude to either myself or an elderly customer. They have no patience and instantly get annoyed of their customers especially towards the seniors. The last time I was here, I was waiting in line to pay for my cookies behind a nice grandpa who gave the dad who was at the register the wrong amount of money. I am bilingual, so I understood what he was saying to the grandpa. Visibly annoyed, he raised his voice at the grandpa in front of me THREE times, getting louder with each time he had to repeat himself. It was extremely brutal and uncalled for considering the fact that he's old & is a paying customer. I was even more shocked that he had the audacity to do that in front of other customers and act like nothing happened after. 1.5 stars just because the cookies are good. Would I recommend this place? Probably not, unless you don't mind the bad service. I always just try to get in and out of here fast, so I could avoid the hostile environment, lol. Parking is extremely hard because it's always packed. There's meter parking and paid parking lots right around the corner.

Food: The cow ear cookies are delicious , it's $6 a bag Service: The cashier is a lady without any greeting or smile, bad customer service Ambiance: It seems like she didn't want to do anything, look like I'm bothering her

Discriminatory with certain clientele. If they approve your outfit you may patronize. I guess they care more about the uniform than they do about the welfare of children and victims of crime. The individuals wearing those“OFFENSIVE” pieces of apparel, and carrying guns, are probably police officers trying to help and protect them, yet, this Bakery is REFUSING to serve them. Totally disgusting business and disgusting business model !!!

Terrible customer service! The woman behind the counter was really rude. It was like they didn’t want to do business. The cow ear cookies are pretty good but the customer service is terrible. I would give half a star but that’s not an option.

Every time we come to Chinatown, we come on their off days. So, I was super excited to come today to buy their cow ears. The lady at the register was just not friendly at all. I walked in looking for the cow ears and she looked at me and asked how many. It was just short and not friendly exchange. Ended up purchasing 4 bags of the cow ears. They are now $6.00 a bag. Paid for them and left, she even left the 4 packages on the counter and didn't even bother to pass them over to me. Service is lacking unfortunately they do make the best cow ears cookies. They are slightly thicker from what I remembered but the taste is still there. Quick and easy transaction but if you are looking for a warm ambience and someone to talk to.. this is not the place for it.

I have only buy the wife cake here, and it’s the best I have ever had. It’s different than all the other ones as the inside is crunchy. Both my husband and I really liked it. This types of wife cake I can only get from SFO and from that store only. I have tried wife cake from 6 different stories in one day and this is it the best. Will definitely go back just got their wife cake and maybe try some of there other stuff as well

Seriously the only place in the Bay Area that still sells cow ears!! Was so excited I bought 3 bags. Cow ears r a bit on the thicker side than I'm used to so it makes for a bit harder of a chew, but still has the same great taste. They apparently have plenty now, so there is no need to wait in line or limit yourself. Cost is $6 per bag. Our fav was the sesame cookies! So light, fresh and crunchy, just like I've always remembered them to be! Yum! We bought a pound for $7. They also have mini moon cakes for $3 so will need to try that next time! Owner was very friendly and accommodating and pleasant to deal with. Parking is really hard to find bc it's on a busy popular Main Street.

Forget the long lines and the super touristy spot at Ross Alley and come to Mee Mee Bakery on Stockton instead for the best sesame cookies and "flat fortune cookies".Their cookies are always made fresh, tastes super yummy, and comes in quite a few flavors. My favorite is the coffee flat fortune cookies and the sesame cookies. Call ahead if you are ordering large volumes; otherwise they always have quite a few stashes of a variety of cookies. I love coming here each and every time ... kind of like shopping in a candy store!

This bakery has been around a very long time. I prefer it over Golden Gate Bakery because the fortune cookies are less sweet. I know the cow ear cookies are very popular here. People should try the other cookies though. I love the coin cookies (flat smaller fortune cookies) the most for years. They are very addictive. The only downside for me is the store hours are a bit tough to know and only recently I found out the updated hours as they are not updated on their site.

I came to this bakery multiple times for its cow ear cookies when I’m in the area. I’m from NY so coming to SF, I made my way to Chinatown 2 days ago and found out their temporary hours starts at 12pm. So unfortunate as I couldn’t get what I came looking for. Made my way back to the hotel empty handed as I had to leave for NY that day.

Did you know Chinatown had two fortune cookie factories? I didn't either. For the longest time we went to Golden Gate Fortune Cookies for our fix. Well we dropped by here today and picked up 2 bags of oops cookies (the flats) and a bag of mini almond cookies. They carry fully formed fortune cookies and multi colored ones. There were also old school Chinese cakes made into a shape of fishes and other objects. The lady at the counter was nice. No samples but their cookies cost less than Golden Gate's and they didn't s***** me into paying for a reusable bag like GG did.The factory is at the back of the store and you can see the employees making the cookies. The flats were not as sweet as GG's which is good. The almond cookies remind me of the old school ones that tastes really good. Not the lard flavored ones that are sold in stores now. Drop by and buy cookies from Mee Mee. Lot less wait, not crawling with tourists and definitely easier on the wallet!

Don’t go. Rude man behind the counter that is not trying to do business. I agree with all the 1 star reviews below. Not worth it. Ruined our day. He overcharged us too.

This review is purely for the rude, attitude old man in the front. Walked in and was about to buy their "famous cow ear cookies". My friend wanted them so I had to buy at least 1 bag. I asked to see the cow ear cookies bc they put it behind the counter. And the guy rudely yelled at me and said no I can't look at it. So I said how am I going to buy it if you don't let me look at it? Then I went I'm going to buy it can you give me it. And he's like no. So I said what you mean no??? I'm buying it. Then he said I rather much u not. I'm like what ?!?! What are you saying? Why are you like that? Relax. Then he finally let go of the bag. I was going to buy at least 5 bags but I got so upset. Ended up just buying 1. Truly didn't even want to buy it anymore Sure - I want to try it but it ain't worth the nasty attitude.
