We have been to Nakama Sushi twice now, and we have enjoyed both of our visits. Especially the one with our server Benjamin ! Benjamin provides excellent service; always checking on how we are doing, very upbeat with a great personality and attentive no matter how busy he is. The food is delicious and the fish is fresh ! We enjoyed everything we ate here. We always make reservations since it's a small place. It's a great dinner idea before catching a show nearby. It is a nice little gem in the theater district.

This was a surprise, we expected a basic sushi meal, but the food was above our expectations, and the service was outstanding! Benjamin was a great host and we loved the different omakase's that we went through. Loved every bite!

Good local and casual sushi. Fresh fish and nice pieces. A few less-than-usual varieties as well.

Very good. Very fresh

We had a nice meal with exceptional service. “Uncle Ben” was super sweet and went out of his way to make sure our food was ready in a timely manner so we wouldn't miss our show, and he went out of his way to help us celebrate and to make the night feel more special. We will be back :)

Service was poor — our order seems to have gotten lost until we approached the server to inquire, so we waited over 20 minutes for a sushi roll and a gindara that were only mediocre. I'm sorry I can't recommend this one.

Had an absolutely lovely dinner with a large group. Sushi was so fresh and tasty, some of the best I’ve had in the area and the service and ambiance were excellent.

Went with friends for a birthday dinner and was so touched by the level of service and quality of the meal. Benjamin and the rest of Nakama Sushi were so friendly and went above and beyond to make the evening special. They were very diligent in taking care of our large party throughout the meal and the food was delicious and a great value given the high quality. We ordered the Double Red roll and it was such a hit we kept ordering more (we got Six of those rolls total they were so good) but all of the food we had was very tasty. We mostly stuck with the specialty rolls but the simpler maki we had were also delicious. They use dark meat for the chicken karaage which made them very juicy.Overall I loved the experience at Nakama Sushi. I would definitely go back and hope they do well! Would strongly recommend making this your neighborhood sushi spot if you live in the area. The dining space is on the smaller side so would recommend calling ahead if you are planning on dining with a larger party.

This was our first time dining at Nakama Sushi. Were were not disappointed. There were several items we wanted to get; Gyoza with pork and Tempura. Our waiter was helpful in explaining other items we looked at and making Sushi choices. Everything was very good and could not have been better pterpared.

We love Nakama Sushi. Their food is excellent, the fish fresh and tasty, the service excellent. This is our favorite Japanese restaurant in San Francisco, we try to visit once a month. Their Omakase is the best if you like sashimi. They have plenty of cooked food too.

Incredible quality and delicious food. The quality of the fish and nigiri was outstanding. We came across this restaurant before a show, and the servers were so thoughtful about making sure we got our food and enjoy our meal in time to make our show.

When it works, it can be very good. When it doesn’t work, it can fail rather spectacularly. Tonight, I finally had to get up and point out that we had been sitting at our table for over 30 minutes with no one coming by to take our order. A few minutes later it finally happened, during which I was told not to order certain things because they would take too long (despite still having over an hour before we had to leave for a performance)… “how about edamame? Quick things”. Really? The explanation? “Friday night.” To which I responded we had been here for many Friday nights and never had this kind of long wait.First item arrived (gyoza… quick item) 50 minutes after sitting down. Which happened to be what my dining partner ordered. Mine did not arrive until over a hour after being seated. More than enough time suddenly became a stressful experience to make a performance.Meanwhile, the table across from us, who arrived 10 minutes later, were having their table cleared.Thank goodness we left a lot of time. Despite that, it was stressful.
