Staff is always so friendly here!! I go in every so often for some slices when I don't feel like cooking, and it always hits the spot. Often times the pizza is not as saucy as I like and is more on the dryer side. But it's still so tasty. I will never stop coming to Nizario's as long as I'm living in the city!

Great slice pizza. We're not talking Tony's here, we're talking late night, bars are closing, man I'm hungry big slice melty cheese pepperoni goodness. Shake on some peppers and ancient oregano, good to go for that long Uber ride home.

Since 1983 this family run business has dished out affordable hot slices - homemade sauces from back in the day - the pesto is delicious and the marinara is top of the line . A super friendly and efficient staff and a real neighborhood feel . 6 stars !!! Highly recommended. The cheesy garlic bread is crazy good - 7 bucks - big as a healthy mini pizza, ample garlic , awesome crust . I get it weekly. Cool folks

Even though Nizario's has a (surprisingly) decent rating, it probably tells you something that the majority of the reviews mention coming here late at night and/or eating their pizza after a night of drinking. I'm certainly no exception - the first couple of times I came here, however many years ago that was, I was decidedly less than sober. Perhaps not so coincidentally, I also thought the pizza was fine. Because fast forward to my most recent visit here and I was decidedly sober...and found the pizza to be decidedly less than fine. Being the hole in the wall that they are (this is one of the smallest pizza joints I've come across in SF), it'd be fair to say that this Nizario's is pretty limited in its offerings (even compared to their sister locations). In total, they've got about a dozen varieties of pies and about a half a dozen options if you're looking for a pizza by the slice. Not bad in and of itself, and fitting given their no frills operation, but it'll leave you wanting if you're looking for a lot of menu options beyond just your basic pizzas and garlic bread (they also have chicken wings and a couple of salad options). Of their by the slice options, they're all pretty standard (Cheese, Pepperoni, Hawaiian, Veggie, etc.), so I opted to get their SUPER COMBO which comes with Pepperoni, Mushrooms, Onions, and Bell Peppers ($6). At a glance, this didn't feel too shabby - the slice didn't look that big, but it seemed to be covered with a good amount of toppings and the paper plate had some heft to it. Sadly, the reality set in after just a few bites. While the bell peppers and onions were great, they were also practically the only thing I could taste. The pepperoni and mushroom were fine, albeit scant, but the sauce tasted generic and the dough was flavorless. What's more, the bottom of the slice was crunchy like a cracker (though, i wouldn't say it was dry). In short? It kind of reminded me of the Celeste frozen pizzas you see at your local supermarket. Beyond just being lackluster, the other part about Nizario's that hurt was knowing that I could get a far better slice for less at the likes of GIoia in Hayes Valley (though, to be fair, $6 is pretty standard on this side of SF). Otherwise, Nizario's only real appeal for me is how they're open late and how friendly the workers are (which is what saves them from a one star review). However, even then, I could easily hop over to Hole in the Wall in the Sunset for a better slice or Jack N The Box down the street for tastier late night eats. ONE AND A HALF STARS rounded up.

I have always loved Nizzario’s pizza since 1989 when I was stationed in Treasure Island and my base commanded the late Captain Vaught also loved their pizza too, that he asked the owner Mr Nizzario to open a restaurant on the base, next to the enlisted men club for us sailors to have a fun place for a good pizza and a beer.??

I called almost closing time one Sunday nite and the gentleman working was so nice and accommodating. He took his time to coordinate with my Uber Eats driver, they called me back to make sure everything will be alright and it all went smoothly. Over the years, I used to frequent their old 18th and Castro which is now Hot Johnnie's ( I recommend people to also check it out) and have always liked their pizza especially the slices after a drink or two. Iam giving them a 5star cause little did the gentleman know, it was my first ever food craving after a major operation and living on liquid alone for 2weeks. Thanks Guys.

About the Pizza Place:Nestled in the vibrant Inner Richmond area, this pizza place enjoys a prime location next to a boba place. The surroundings offer a plethora of food options, making it a convenient spot to explore.About the Food:During my visit, I tried their pesto chicken pizza, and it turned out to be a delectable choice. The large piece was not only tasty but also satisfying. While I couldn't sample more due to the size, the pesto chicken pizza was truly awesome. The place benefits from its strategic location and offers a promising culinary experience. For its flavorful offerings and convenient setting, a four-star rating feels well-deserved.Parking: Lot of parking in the street

I love this place! I always call in my order and it is always ready when they say it will be. Since I started ordering from them, I have not gone anywhere else. They always treat me great. I do not have one complaint about them. Well maybe one, I wish they were located right next door to me. I know people are feeling a certain way about tipping these days. Normally, I do not tip if it involves me having to get dressed, get car to go pick something up. I always tip at Nizario's.
