If you are visiting San Francisco to see the beauty that can be seen in the Bay Area - this here is a MUST SEE and stop for spicy food, Thai food, and Asian cuisine enjoyers altogether. The owner Bobby (Jahanvir) has made Thai food really well and he rocked my socks off. The papaya salad has a perfect blend of herbal, acid, and fish sauce flavor with the kafir lime. I test any Thai restaurant's traditional sense through whether or not their papaya salad is any good, and this place felt truly Thai to me as if the flavors from Bangkok were teleported to SF.The pineapple fried rice felt like a killer fusion - raisins with an Iranian twist, the turmeric from Jahanvir's Bengali side, and the chicken marination in lime and South Asians spices with the overall cooking execution in the Thai fashion was tasty. I didn't find myself a fan of pad thai much, because I didn't order it, but as a family we enjoyed all the dishes. I would recommend pad thai with tofuu if you're vegetarian TBH.But all in all, I was especially in love with the pad ke mao at the Thai spicy level as well as the panang curry. Everything here is made with love, and this place keeps food execution on par. You must come here and have the mango with sticky rice as well!!!! Cheers Jahanvir thank you brother !

If you're in the marina this spot absolutely woks!Best pad see ew I've ever had. The mango sticky rice was excellent, too. Very umami, smoky and delicious. Owner was charming and helpful -- really cares about the quality and authenticity of the food.

Green Curry and Pad Thai were incredible! Some of the best we've had. We are celiac gluten-free, and the staff was helpful. No reactions to the food.

Food was impeccable. It gave me something to look forward to next time i’m in SF. They kindly exchanged a curry platter that was too spicy for me personally after a small misunderstanding and were really sweet about the whole thing. 11/10

After a long drive from San Diego, thought we would have dinner here. Glad we did, cause the food was delicious. Service was excellent after recommending the salmon my lady made up her mind. It's was delicious, as for me I had the pad see ew noodles with tofu. Also delicious. Beer was in a frosted glass which was great. Small enough of location which I actually appreciate. Next trip to San Francisco we shall return.

So many good things to say, Where do I even start?I had just walked 25000 steps with a 20lb camera bag, and I still had trouble finishing my shrimp Pad Thai, the portion was so generous. The Penang curry special with Tofu was spiced so nice, and had the famous lemongrass aromatic aesthetic that comes with the dish. Not to mention, if the curry was plentiful, they offered more rice so you can have it all!I also appreciate the hot sauce options, starting with Sriracha, jalapeños in vinegar, Thai chili in vinegar and pureed chili. I tried them all, they're really good if you can handle spice. We wanted to compliment the chef, and the store owners mom came out to greet us and thank us back. So friendly, so good, and the ambience is so relaxed you'll be in a better moodHighly highly recommended.Vegetarian options: You can get almost all the dishes with Tofu as the protein of choice, you can't go wrong.

I don't often go to the Marina, but I will for Phat Thai! I've been going to their food truck for years and happy they finally opened up their own brick and mortar! They make amazing food, give outstanding service, and have such a welcoming space! We ordered thai teas, green curry, fresh rolls, pad ke mao (drunken noodles), and the som tum (papaya) salad. All were so very good and I wish I had room to order more! I'll def be back!

Nice atmosphere and excellent staff that were attentive and explained the specials for the day. Started off with an order of the Phat rolls and their house sweet chili sauce that was very good. The evening special included a Panang Curry with your choice of protein. It has the perfect level of spice for a curry, well cooked rice, and nice mix of veggies. Wish there was less broccoli and more of the other veggies, but not a big deal. Highly recommend!Vegetarian options: Tofu options for most meals

I have been to 100s of Thai food restaurants over 50 years. A few days ago I went to Phat Thai. I was expecting the typical San Francisco greasy, simple almost flavorless dishes. Instead, I remembered my first experiences with the Slanted Door startup on Valencia Street. 20+ years ago. The food at Phat Thai was exceptional. I had Tom Kha Soup, which was (inexpensive) not greasy, had amazing flavor, and lots of vegetables. Typically Thai restaurants, load up on noodles (cheap). I also had their iced Thai coffee which has a nitro infusion. OMG, this was a the best coffee I have ever had. I'll be back several times a week. I have traveled the world, worked at famous CA restaurants. Phat Thai deservest to be one of SF's best restaurants. For now, I'll enjoy, like i did with the Slanted Door, the extraordinary food with a down-home, unprotredencious environment. These folks like Slanted Door, are family-owned and the chef is the owner. All of this adds up to amazing food, great value, and a super dining experience, wher you won't question why you paid to go out.
