Rocco's had been my favorite restaurant since 1990, and had the best food in all categories. However, the original owner recently retired and sold his restaurant to a restaurant group who did not keep the same menu, and changed everything. They no longer serve you the garlic olive oil with your bread. They removed all my favorite dishes from the menu, and have a very limited menu that wasn't impressive. None of Don's specialties were retained ☹️.The new food was okay but nothing you can't find anywhere else. I doubt I'll return bc this place is not old Rocco's but something else... they just change the name too.

This place is fire!Cute and cozy spot with cool decor.Touching story about a grandpa/grandson ownership. I'm so glad it is still in existence!Pics are crab cake benedict and strawberry french toast. We boozed mimosas and left feeling real good. Don't skip this spot. You'll regret it.

I cannot recommend Rocco’s enough!! We met the owner, Michael, out one night. I told him that I was on vacation and we were looking for a place that could accommodate a very large group (11 people) Micheal kindly booked us a table for the very next day! When we got in for dinner, they had a lovely long table waiting for us. Our server, Nicole, was kind, accommodating, and helpful. Micheal also came out from cooking in the kitchen to say hi to us! We started with the ricotta/bread and calamari to share which was delicious. Then we got our DELICIOUS entrees. Everyone in our group was very happy with them. I got the burrata ravioli and lemon rigatoni to share with my wife and they were to die for! Perfect portions—not so much that it was overwhelming but easily enough to be filling. We rounded out the night with desserts on the house kindly provided by Micheal. Everything was delicious especially the fresh zeppoles!!Thank you so much to Micheal and Nicole for giving us a great experience on our trip to SF! If you are looking for delicious food, friendly/family oriented services, and an iconic setting look no further than Rocco’s!

Loved our Sunday dinner at Rocco’s - delicious comfort food, generous portion sizes, and very welcoming service. The marsala was worth the hype! We can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.

I greatly miss the older weekend brunch menu items like the veggie Italian Fritatta with biscuits. The new menu is oddly limited although what’s there is good.I worry that the new owners may not have the rights to the old recipes that drew me to Rocco’s as a regular customer. Until the old fritatta and biscuits returns to the menu, I’ll be going much less frequently.

Very consistent lunch crowd: cops, construction workers, bikers -- and the waitresses are top notch.

We had a pre-show dinner here last Friday and were completely delighted with all aspects of our meal. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the venue is steeped in local history. The food and service were fantastic! We'll definitely come back.

So grateful this place is open late! A quick yummy italian bite before hitting the streets. Pretty cool ambiance, quick service and well seasoned food. Drinks were great as well. Our server Fredrick was a delight. Attentive and sweet, couldnt ask for more. Nicole took over towards the end of our visit and also gave good service!Would definitely recommend this place :)

They have single handedly ruined the Chicken Marsela which when Don Dial owned the restaurant was there signature dish. The waiter was obviously a rookie. The warmth that Roccos once was is no longer there I'll never go

Idk if anyone has ever told you, but it’s impossible to view your menu online on your phone! It can be done through a computer, but how many times have you lost service over this? I know I have gave up and went somewhere else. Please fix your pop up when u try to view the menu through your phone!!

Walked here after a show at the Orpheum for an early dinner. Nice place. Simple but decent menu at reasonable prices for SF. Service was wonderful. Staff were very friendly. Open on Sundays when everything else seems to be closed in the area, which is a plus!
