Super rude bartender. Checked ID’s of our group of 3 and told us “we won’t be serving you, goodbye.” When asked for clarification, he was extremely dismissive and rude and just told us goodbye. Never been turned away at a bar before, this place isn’t worth it. Go across the street to BevMo and pay half the price. Shame that we couldn’t support a local place.

I LOVE route 101! Alex is so attentive to everyone that comes in, he really cares about everyone that comes in and makes sure everyone is taken care of. Serene is also a fantastic bartender and is so sociable and kind. This is one of my favorite bars in the city. 11/10 if you love good music and playing pool.

Great bar, they make the best martinis. They should be known for them Alex S can rock the drinks. We were traveling for a show at the Regency Ballroom, and we were walking from our hotel. The travel was four blocks. We hit a few bar on the way, the best martini was Route 101 but only if Alex s makes them. Can't vouch for the rest

Its a locals bar or if you are waiting to attend an event by nextdoor at the regency ballroom. Its what others from cities other than SF would consider a dive bar, but it has a decent pool table.Parking: Bus stop right out the door

Great spot! Wish the world was open, so we could keep ot live and poppin! Seems if there aren't tournaments or a show dumping out from thr Regency Hotel Ballroom, no one comes here but us locals. I don't mind that at all! I hope to become a BETTER pool ? player here, and maybe have some more good times. Cheers!

Drinks served quickly, punk bar nice atmosphere and crowd was cool. Had my first old-fashioned w/ friends before seeing The Damned at the Regency. Will go every time there's a show at Regency. Weird that The Damned audience was hella blue jeans and t-shirt crowd. C'mon bay area the crowd at that show made me question just how gentrified we've become...

Sigh. A place like this should be low key and simple... The dimly lit ambiance is a little grimy; my kinda place. Prices are cheaper than some of the other bars in the area.As some of the other reviews have noted, Alex (bartender with gages and little guy síndrome) is absolutely insufferable. One star is due to Alex being unnecessarily condescending and intoxicated behind the bar. He was slurring his words when he told me the price of a drink and he either over charged me or gave me the wrong price, not sure.Enjoy this picture of Alex taking shots behind the bar with regulars and encouraging guests to throw straws. If you see this guy behind the bar, do yourself a favor and pick another dive bar to go to.

Waited 15 mins for bartender to even acknowledge me to order a drink on a slower night, proceeds to talk to others for the next 5 mins. Left without service and wasted my time. What a joke

Classic SF dive. Solid pool tables

What a joke of a bouncer. Took my California ID and immediately dismissed it as a fake, and justified it by saying the background was too “blue”. Then he threatened to take my ID and hold it until the cops came. Thankfully I was able to talk this gentleman into giving back my real ID back, but the situation was completely overblown.
