Salumeria di bella is part of the Bella Empire on Geary. It offers a few sandwiches and salads. We tried the porchetta sandwich with onion jam, hot cherry peppers, and a yellow mustard. The sandwich was loaded with meat on great bread. Delicious. We will be back to try more next time.

The il classico sandwich is a very good one. I always find mortadella to be the odd man out in most italian combo sandwiches. It's got a more subtle flavor that can really get lost when there's salami and other more highly cured meats in the mix. So if you're having mortadella, I think it should generally be the only meat in the sandwich. The basically do that here and it works super well.

I don't really know what to make of this place. Sometimes I feel like tapping them on the shoulder and reminding them this is a restaurant. I've gotten some very solid sandwiches here. I've also had some VERY questionable service. The last time I ordered a sandwich from this place, I showed up, waited about 10 minutes, and after it became apparent staff had seen me repeatedly and simply not come over, I just walked out. And admittedly, I don't like doing that to a restaurant (ordering over the phone and not picking the order up), but if they care that little about a customer coming in, what am I supposed to do? So I dunno, if you're walking by and there's someone there, go ahead and order: the food would probably be good. But I really have a hard time recommending going out of your way in any way shape or form to get food from this place, unless you're willing to take the risk that you might just not receive service.

Can't believe I haven't written a review for this place yet. Such good sandwiches. The porchetta sandwich is so delicious and one of our favorites. We have also brought some bone marrow from here previously, and I roasted them at home.

Delicious Italian Classic deli sandwich. Fresh meat, fresh mozzarella, fresh bread, perfect portion, and price point. I would say this is the best Italian deli sandwich I have had in SF. All other sandwich stores could take a lesson from how to do it right, and only $12.

If you're looking for fresh authentic Italian food in San Francisco look no further. Service was fast and attentive and the food was amazing. The carbonara was one of the best in or out of Italy and the pasta al sugo di pomodoro and the eggplant Parmesan or fresh and bright. With excellent wines and delicious panna cotta, Osteria Bella was one of the most memorable dinners during our vacation.

I grew up eating my grandmother's gnocchi and regard it as comfort food. The gnocchi at Bella is superb--probably the best I have ever had. (Sorry, Gram!) Affordable prices and good service.

Got the Il Classico (mortadella, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, mustard fig jam, extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), red wine vinegar, cherry peppers).Really liked the mustard! Sandwich was overall good but I felt it would have been better if the bread was a bit harder.Glanced over to the fridge and saw some donuts balls filled with Nutella. Got 5 for $6. It was good! Lots of filling. I think it'd be better warm so we're going to save some for home.Would definitely come back if I'm in the area!

Absolutely love Bella trattoria and I hurts me to no end to trash them in any way because I could literally sleep on pillows of their incredible gnocchi clouds , but I must tell you, fine folks at Bella - - you gotta fix your Pastrami Sandwich because it is criminally bad. Let's begin with the price - $15.30 after tax for a sandwich, no wait , a sandwich with just meat and pickles. Now, when I see that on the menu at a place like Bella I think "wow, this must some seriously delicate pastrami, just perfectly cured, razer thin sliced, how amazing, not even cheese to get in the way, I love it, that sounds great." It was not.. it was rubbery and felt heated up in the microwave. No shade on microwave warm ups, but for the only ingredient of my $15 sando, c'mon. It was "warmed" but it didn't feel like an oven that did it. Then let's get to the fact that I couldn't even taste the pastrami because it was drowning in mayo and mustard, I mean way too much, and I like it saucey. And not stoneground or brown, or an aoli, just white mayo and yellow mustard. The cherry pepper relish got me excited, but no, just a sad couple sliced peppers with no discernible heat or vinegar pizzazz to be found under a sea of mayonnaise. The homemade roll was almost delicious, nice flavor, but the inside wasn't fully baked! Giving it a raw and doughy taste. I love your restaurant, but this dish is a tragedy. For $15 no less, I'm heartbroken. If you are trying to make a simple, traditional style sandwich - you missed the mark and worse yet priced out a simple sandwich lover. I will be back to Bella trattoria, but never again for your sandwiches

Instantly has become one of my "top 5" sandwich places in SF. Absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced for what you get.

Googled "deli" because Inner Richmond seems largely devoid of them. I never noticed this little sliver on Geary but I was totally blown away by the Classico. Very delicately constructed sando. Soft, savory and also sweet. The mozzarella was thick and generous and the bread impeccably toasted. Also had a lovely espresso shot while waiting and the nice woman making it had an Italian accent.

Super glad this gem opened a block away from my shop! I've had their classic Italian sandwich twice - it's big enough that I've split it with a friend for lunch. A really unique sandwich in San Francisco - classic Italian sliced meats on a thin bread that holds up to the filings with savory/sweet fig spread. Definitely worth a try!

Cute little shop in the inner Richmond. I came here for a quick lunch and ordered a sliced of the margherita flat bread. They have a table outside so you can eat there. The shop sold various italian wines and deli products.

What an amazing addition to the neighborhood! The sandwiches are spectacular - Italian paninis that are tasty, comforting and big enough to share. They also sell gelato and drinks and other treats like hot peppers stuffed with cheese and prosciutto. Yum!
