The food was kind of bland but the service was great and the staff was friendly, however, the selection is small and there is not much variety. Atmosphere is only

Yes it can be touristy, but this is a nice kid friendly spot for pizza, chicken tenders, and a beer or other “mommy juice” while taking a break from the fantastic exhibits and crowds.Kid-friendliness: Perfect kid food for a great kid museum.

Clam chowder was delicious and one of the best chowders I have had. Their fries and chicken wings were good too. Lot of seating available indoor and outdoor. They have vegan options too.Dietary restrictions: Many vegan options

Food was food, but expensive. Not unexpected considering it is inside the museum, and it is SF. Food options are food, including healthy and non-healthy, and desserts. Chicken strips were ok, and the nachos with carne asada were surprisingly good. There are tables inside, and you can also grab one of the tables at the pier.Pros: inside the museum, pick your food, pay and go sit. They'll prepare the food and bring it to your tableCons: pricey

Overpriced and flavorless food. Incredibly small portions. Terrible service, waitstaff don’t even check if you are the right person to get the food.

This place knows how to get families through the door and still offer healthy food!

I wouldn’t call this a “restaurant” but rather a museum cafeteria. It is however, the nicest and most expensive cafeteria I’ve visited. The food was fresh and tasty, with plenty of options for kids and grownups. We enjoyed the chicken tenders, a salad, and cheese nachos. The cheese sauce was quite grainy, but fine for a kid.

Pleasantly surprised by the good lunch choices available. We had the taco shell with chicken rice, and beans. It was very good, and filling. The view of the Oakland Bay and bridge was very enjoyable during our lunch.

This restaurant is located inside the Exploratorium and it's an easy stop to make after walking around for so long and checking out all those exhibits! I ordered the cheeseburger and fries which was one of the hot food options. The cheeseburger came with a sauce and the vegetables on the side. I liked that they did that, so you could customize your burger how you want it. I put the sauce onto one of the buns and put it all together! For being hungry it was pretty good. The fries were good too, but for $7 I might as well have bought another burger which only cost a few dollars more. There's plenty of seating inside the restaurant and it feels kind of like a cafeteria inside, but the main objective is taking a break to eat food, and this place does the job for sure.

I don't know if it is because visiting the Exploratorium is a draining experience or because I was extra hungry, but I cannot stop thinking about the breakfast sandwich. Egg, cheese and aioli on an English muffin. The egg was like a soufflé but grilled? I used to work near the Ferry building and I swear, had I known, I'd have gone here just for lunch.

We love this museum and have been there many times in the past. We usually stayed in the cafe for lunch — since this is an interesting museum with a lot of hands on things that you can try.Their teriyaki tofu rice bowl is almost $20. I should not have said this was overpriced given this is in SF and also you can get decent view here. However, there are 2 main complaints: 1. portion size is quite small — even my 5 year old can finish one bowl within 10 mins and still says he is not full 2. He did not finish it, because the bowl was way over salty. I took 2 bites from it and just cannot finish the rest.

The view is pretty nice but they don't have a lot of hot food choices for kids. Only nachos, hot dog and teriyaki chicken bowl. I was hoping they can have some sandwiches or burger as I can see pictures of yelp. A bit disappointed coming in and found out don't know what to eat. XDThe prices is a bit on the higher end but it's expected since it's inside exploratoriums. The tables got cleaned occasionally by staff but floor is different world as there are a lot of kids. :p

I have been here a few times during a field trip and it is a great place to eat and relax. I think they changed their hours since COVID because we have been here multiple times and it's always closed. (Minus 2 stars being that the hours suck now) The other place to eat is NOT and option for a nice lunch. Please change your hours back to what it once was. Give exploratorium visitors an option for lunch.
