Blend soft serve ice cream served by surly employee. We ordered black sesame soft serve, but it didn’t taste like anything beyond milk and sugar, so we requested to change to a different flavor, and the apathetic cashier refused. We left this shop, after paying for ice cream, but not eating ice cream, lol.Won’t be coming back .

One taste of this ice cream and waffle I literally was in the happiest place I have ever traveled to ever. The best soft serve in my life. I was in from Chicago. I had milk and caramel in a cup with a waffle. Geezus save me! Do NOT miss Somi Somi.

Although the ambience was good, we were not really impressed with the taste. We tried 2 different Taiyakis - one with Nutella and another with the Oreo filling. These were just like waffles, just tiny in size. In our opinion, the Oreo filling didn’t taste so good and Nutella was a little better than average. We also took the soft serve “cup” with Nutella filling. Honestly, we’ve had better ice creams and didn’t enjoy it so much.

Forgot to take a picture of this before I got almost half way through eating it. The green tea soft serve was delicious and not too sweet (just how I like it). The fish shaped waffle cone is delicious on it's own too: crunchy exterior, but still fluffy and cake like inside. The Taro filling in the waffle was a very nice sweeter addition overall too. Definitely the perfect treat to top off a beautiful sunny day outside!

Love this Place. I see lots of people walking and enjoying their ice cream. Finally off work had a chance to go by. Great customer service. Very clean. I Recommend SOMISOMI @Mission Bay anything.

Somi Somi in Mission Bay offers a seamless checkout experience, making it convenient to indulge in their delightful treats. They serve a special dessert known as Ah-Boong: a fish-shaped Taiyaki waffle cone filled with your choice of filling and topped with soft serve. I tried the milk and chocolate ice cream in a cone with Nutella, and it was a deliciously satisfying combination. They added Oreo sprinkles and a strawberry flavored macaroon. The flavors were rich, and the texture of the soft serve was perfect. Macaroon was chewy but the overall experience was enjoyable. Note- The soft serve melts really fast, so make sure to bring plenty of napkins! Street parking is available outside the store. It was busy even at 9pm. The store was clean and servers were great. I recommend!

Just had the most heavenly taro soft serve at Somi Somi! The taiyaki cone was a crispy delight, and the taro flavor was out of this world - not too sweet, just perfect. The soft serve had this creamy, dreamy texture that instantly won me over. Topped it off with some biscoff crumb and oreo crumb, and I was in dessert paradise. The staff was chill, and the vibe was just right. If you're a taro fan, this place is a total winner!

We visited around 5:30pm on a Monday night - there were some other customers but no wait and very fast service. The staff was very patient with us and helpful as he explained the different options. I got the Ube Sesame Swirl in an Upside Down Ahboong and my partner got the Ube Swirl in a Cup. I would strongly recommend the Upside Down Ahboong over the regular Ahboong. It will be a lot less mess and you will be able to eat the taiyaki simultaneously with the ice cream more. I loved the taiyaki! It reminded me of a Hong Kong egg waffle in flavour and crisp. I chose Taro filling and didn't loveee it so I would be curious to try Red Bean instead in the future. As for the flavour of the ice cream, I did not enjoy the sesame. I liked the ube but it tasted just like a sweet vanilla and I didn't get much ube flavour. I would be interested in trying their matcha ice cream in the future as well as getting just the taiyaki which they offer 2 for $4.50!

I saw this store from Facebook and it looks so good. So I decided to try it when I came here. The upside down is so good! I ordered matcha and black sesame in custard taiyaki. The taiyaki was so chewy and soft. And the soft serve was a good combinations! But the macaron is too sweet.

Was disappointed by my most recent SOMISOMI experience. I've had it multiple times in Cupertino and LA, but somehow my visit to the SF location fell flat. I came by for a quick dessert before seeing the Cirque du Soleil show nearby. It was empty when we came Wed evening around 6:30. I got the milk and black sesame swirl in an upside down ahboong for $6.95. The taiyaki cone was good, but I did NOT like the flavors in the swirl, especially the black sesame. I could barely taste black sesame and instead it was some other weird flavor that didn't taste good. Don't recommend getting the black sesame flavor here. I regret not getting one of the other flavors; I'm sure anything would've been better than the milk/black sesame swirl. Parking is all metered but it's very affordable. I think we only paid 2-3 bucks to park for ~3.5 hours until 10 pm, when parking becomes free.
