Unbeatable chiraishi bowl at this price point. Linda is the most amazing and friendly waitress. Say hello to her!

This sushi spot is amazing! The sushi was made right in front of us and tasted very good. The place feels cozy and the people are very friendly. Definitely a top choice for anyone who loves good sushi. We were there during the happy hour 5:00-7:00, which offers lower prices on sushi. Highly recommend!

I am very disappointed to find out that at North Beach sushi the new owners have decided to not let you do happy hour items to go. Happy hour at North Beach. Sushi is a tradition in this neighborhood. I think they are making a big mistake.

Pretty good Chefs Choice Nigiri. But, the California rolls were astonishingly bad - dry, gummy, and not that much krab relative to rice.

When the waiter in this Japanese restaurant heard me speak English, his face quickly fell. But I don’t speak Japanese, and you couldn’t understand me when I spoke to the Chinese waiter. Then it was time to order, and I ordered two bowls of udon noodles. They said it was too little for two people, so I ordered tea, beer and a side dish. Oh my god, the diameter of the bowl of udon is bigger than the plate of my face! The key is that it's full of soup, and there are only three or five strands of noodles floating in it. Within three or four minutes of eating, the waiter came and poured the beer into the plastic cup until the froth almost flowed out of the rim. The key is that the quilt was not lifted up, and his arm was stretched directly above the side dishes on the table to pull up the bottle and pour it. My mother and I were both dumbfounded: Do you think I drink too slowly to drive away guests? ! I'm quite good-tempered, but I feel that it's easy to be in a bad mood when it's pouring rain, so I took a few sips of beer to prevent the foam from dripping everywhere. A second later, the Japanese waitress came again and squatted down to put all the remaining wine in the bottle into the plastic cup. I'm not happy about this: it's not even close to the end of the day, and the Japanese girl at the table next door has eaten all the food, and she's still sitting there chatting, so why don't you rush us? We haven't started eating for five minutes, and you're holding me there. Why does the face appear again and again like this? ! It's impossible for more than a dozen people to come and fill your store with the rain outside so much in one minute. We are here to spend money and give you money, not to pay your debt! Good guy, the bill was brought over before I finished eating. I saw it: the minimum optional tip is 22%! ! ! I finally gave 15%, and the waiter watched me fill in the tip. After reading the number, the credit card machine left without even waiting to collect the tip. In my heart, after all, the Chinese want face when doing things, so I should only give this Japanese woman one dollar! The more I think about it, the angrier I get! Those who are out to make money are still engaging in confrontation between China and Japan! I must write it down!

A fantastic little sushi spot! Perfect for a date night. Very cozy atmosphere, and even better service. Stan went above and beyond for me, and made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. He's a very funny guy, too.All their tempura items are perfectly crispy, which a lot of places manage to mess up. Delicious miso and very flavorful chicken teriyaki. They have something for everyone, whether you're on a budget or looking to ball out.100/10 Recommend. ?

I love a good neighborhood restaurant and I used to love sushi on north beach over 10 years. The two previous owners did a fantastic job. I believe the first owner was a Japanese chef and then he retired and sold the place to someone who used to work at the restaurant. The transition was seamlessly done. Foods, service and atmosphere were always great. Over the years, I took my family and tons of friends to SONB and they were all impressed by the quality and values. I feel really bad for the second owner cuz he and his team suffered a lot during Covid lockdown… I’m not sure if that’s the reason he sold the place. Fast track to the latest owner… Unfortunately, I don’t like everything I ordered. The happy hour menu was the bomb that drew people in before. They still have it but a lot pricier and portion is much smaller. That isn’t the most disappointing part, it’s the taste… completely off. I had tempura, rainbow poke and crispy spicy tuna roll. Both the poke sauce and tempura dip are way too sweet. I don’t think the chef understand what is the bliss point. It’s a savory dish but just plain sweet. The roll was the worst. Tuna has no seasoning, sushi rice isn’t season in Japanese style. I thought I was eating Chinese food or weird version of Korean style kimbap. The entire dish depends on the mayo based sauce, which is again very sweet and not spicy at all. The craftsmanship of the roll is disappointing. It wasn’t wrapped tightly. I couldn’t pick up a piece of roll without having the entire thing falling apart. The whole idea of the former happy hour menu was made sure alcoholic beverage was as cheap as you get a can of beer from stores so you would rather eat at the restaurant, enjoy some food while having a drink with friends. This isn’t the case anymore. I wouldn’t call it a happy hour price tag drinks… the service is the only highlight because I was able to laugh with the old staff. Best of luck!
