Super aesthetic and yummy cupcakes! Pictured here are the One dozen mini cupcakes (6 vanilla and 6 chocolate) topped with SusiePink vanilla buttercream frosting roses. Both flavors were good - my fav were the vanilla ones. Frosting is very sweet so this is perfect if u have a sweet tooth. Definitely wanna try their other cupcake flavors next time!

Too sweet; it’s like eating a bowl of sugar?. It was not like this before. Different owner now? Disappointing!

I am baffled at how wildly popular this place is, I was extremely underwhelmed and disappointed at the quality of the cupcakes. I tried the strawberry and red velvet, the cake parts seems stale, it was oddly dry but still oily, difficult to explain. The frosting for the strawberry cupcake was good but way too sweet and the red velvet frosting was just too sweet and we couldn't taste much of the cream cheese. I would definitely not go back nor recommend. I will say the young lady who worked there packaging the products was very pleasant so she brought up my 1 star rating to 2!

One cute spot in the marina for cakes! Always a long line out the door! Presentation of the cake is always representable!

Ordered cupcakes here for my husband's birthday today and I'm so happy and well, he is pretty happy too! I ordered 4 Happy Birthday cupcakes. Usually they come in 4 different flavors but I requested they make them all red velvet since it's his favorite and they were able to do it. Given it was my husband's birthday, they even tied the box with a bow which was a nice touch. He requested that I get them every year for his birthday so I'll definitely be back again for that and definitely sooner when we're craving something sweet. Give this place a try :)

I was walking by and decided I needed a cupcake after looking at all the cake in the window. The inside has a big display with goodies to buy, and you can see in the back where cake decorating and baking happens. The staff greeted me when I walked in and was very friendly. I was craving chocolate and was not disappointed with the options. I ended up with a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting and rainbow sprinkles. The cake was moist and delicate (not dense at all), and the frosting was rich and chocolaty. It was a nice treat and I would order it again!

I bought three different cakes to serve at a party and every single flavor was an absolute hit. I thought we would have way too much cake left over but they were GONE in the blink of an eye - that's how much my family enjoyed them. I also appreciated the friendly service in store. Such a cute shop with high quality and delicious cakes. SusieCakes really made the birthday celebration special

The cupcakes were packaged upside down in the box. The vanilla cupcakes were inedible - old, dried out and hard.

I’ve been to loyal to SusieCakes for years and have everything good to say about how good their cakes taste. My personal fav is their red velvet - there’s just something so scrumptious about the way they make it, even if it is just a smidge on the sweeter side. It’s the perfect treat for me. Their customer service is also spectacular. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a good experience.

Red velvet is less interesting than the chocolate flavor. Omg the flourless chocolate. bittersweet chocolate cake with the creamiest buttercream.

Have you ever gone somewhere and felt you didn’t belong or shouldn’t be there ? Like in the movies when the guy walks in an establishment and the record gets scratched then the music cuts off . That’s the best way I can describe my experience at susicakes yesterday . I wasn’t going to post about it but at the urging of several of my friends and colleagues I would be doing the public a huge disservice if I kept this to myself / circle of friends . I walked in with my son to get him a birthday cupcake see I’m a single dad I get him on the weekend and for his birthday I took him to see his favorite thing which is dinosaurs. They had a great exhibit at the California Academy of Science which happens to be a few miles from the location on Chestnut so after spending the day checking out all the exhibits I thought well I don’t live nearby so I can’t take him home and give him a proper birthday cake with candles and all so what’s the next best thing . I quickly did a google search for best cup cakes in SF and number one was Susiecakes and even better they were less than 3 miles away . We went through ton of traffic lights to get there so those 3 miles take longer than they should but that’s just life in the city .We we’re lucky enough to find a parking spot quickly and headed right over . We walked in and that’s where my experience went south . 4 young ladies most with a scowl on their faces and no one could be bothered to greet us when we walked in. 4 young ladies and no one else in the store other than myself and my son and no one could even say hello maybe the conversation they were involved with was that groundbreaking that even acknowledging our presence would have thrown off the whole thing .I remember thinking to myself I guess these must be the best cupcakes on the planet because how do you get repeat business with the staff ignoring the customers . I then decide to break the tension and say hello to which I’m eventually acknowledged a few moments later . I was thrown off by what just happened and I have never been to this establishment before so I asked basic questions to which I was not given any real clear direction on how the cupcakes are sold .I didn’t see any signs up indicating pricing or really any direction on how this transaction is handled so I just asked my son what flavor he would like I then ordered a couple more but the feeling in the room was not inviting so I just quickly picked whatever and then proceeded to pay . A couple of minutes later a small box containing my order was dropped on the counter by one of the girls who was talking amongst themselves earlier .up until that point I felt it was all in my head but when someone does that it’s clear they were not after my business . I handed the box to my son thanked them and wished them all a good day I even left a tip, not that they deserved one but I’m just that way. To affirm my suspicions as I was getting ready to head out a gentleman walked in and the girls did greet him .maybe i was profiled maybe not but this man looked like everyone else from the neighborhood where it’s clear that i was definitely not .To the Brunette that took our order thank you for at least trying to fake it better than your co-workers .

Disclaimer: this review is for the red velvet cake only, as it is THE BEST red velvet cake I've ever had and it sets the bar high for all red velvet cakes that will be consumed by me in the future. If I could, I would give it a 10 out of 5! Susie cakes is known for cakes that are moist and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweet, richness, and vanilla. This applies to their whole cakes, cupcakes, and slices etc. I'm not sure how they do it but it's always the perfectly balanced and stays moist even after a week. The cream cheese Frosting for the red velvet is the star of the show, the whipped cream cheese frosting adds just the right amount of sweetness and when paired with the red dyed vanilla cake, it is a perfect bite every single time. Personally, I prefer having cake over the cupcakes bc the ratio of frosting to cake in the cupcakes is skewed towards a little too much frosting, whereas the cake is jussssttt righhhhttt. Their other cakes are also good, namely the celebration cake and the chocolate cake. But I wouldn't give them 5/5 only because they have comparables elsewhere. however I have yet to find a red velvet that comes even slightly close to the level of perfection of Susie's. The Marina location is small and generally a pick up spot. It's clean and the staff is friendly. I typically order custom cakes via their website and then pick up a few days later. Sometimes there is a queue but it usually moves quickly. Whether it's bdays, anniversaries, graduations, or just being in the neighborhood, Susie cakes red velvet is perfect for every occasion!

Tried to place a order for a custom cake. Some dweeb answered the phone said he will put my request in and didn't even ask me for my information. Thanks for nothing -__-. I appreciate the owner reaching out and attempting to make things right. Maybe on the next one I will get to give this susie cakes location a honest try.
