NOT OPEN and clearly hasn't been for years.Great view but I'm pretty annoyed for walking 1.1 miles off my path for a closed restaurant.

So unbelievably sad the Cliff House has closed down. An amazing neighborhood institution, the Richmond District will not be the same without it. Very upset.

Too little, too late. I just read that Cliff House is closing not due to pandemic but due to other reasons. At this point, I can only pen this review as an ode to this iconic institution. Lands end hike with a meal at Cliff House has come up in the top things to do in SF for decades. Cliff House is a charming bistro set on top of a cliff as the name suggests in a historic building. Service is all day and the menu is casual European. Food is very good, the fish especially is fresh and pasta was flavorful. Window seating with a panoramic view of the Pacific is the only way to dine here. We were reminded of a different era, we got impeccable unhurried service from an elderly gentleman. We skipped out to the lookout point to enjoy the sea breeze after the meal to round of our experience.

Been going to the Cliff House for decades, the View not the food, for first dates. A dump! Cheap. It was finally remodeled. The obligatory bus stop for every full size tour bus was skipped, like Alamo Square. The remodel is Gorgeous! But so "$$$" Overpriced! It's what's called an "eating the view" restaurant in local tourism speak. They do offer the best of the 3 city free maps.Rumor is they are permanently closing, CoVid19 and NPS hassles.Very sad...Try the nearby Beach Chalet, a bit overpriced and slow service, so few options on Ocean Beach fabulous views, close surfers and Great Whites!, but lots of free parking.

Iconic restaurant for great food and amazing views of the beach, with waves smashing on the rocks below. This was my go to place when I felt stressed out from teaching. Every classic movie star that ever lived has their autographed picture up on the wall. A must see when visiting the Bay Area. There is a hiking path that curves around the bend with a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Enjoy!

Cliff House Restaurant is located in a fantastic location in the northeast of the San Francisco Peninsula. It offers a magnificent view of the ocean and you can watch seals tumbling on seal rock, dolphins, pelicans and other sea birds and large transoceanic container ships at the very end of their journey. There are 2 restaurants in the cliff house building. The luxurious Sutro's on the ground floor and the unassuming Bistro on the 2nd floor. The walls are hung with photos of celebrities. It serves the best fish stew in SF. It is made using dungeness crabs, fish, garlic, clams and tomato broth. You can also enjoy excellent clam chowder soup, fish and chips, burger.

Historical landmark. Nice atmosphere with amazing service and outstanding view of the sutro baths and ocean.Hope they make it through the pandemic. A must go for any visitor or local. Makes for a very romantic, decently priced meal.

Fog Harbor Fish House is voted one of the Top 5 restaurants in San Francisco and you definitely want to get reservations. We did that through Yelp, then began our walk from Pier 1 (on Embarcadero) to Pier 39, "Fisherman's Wharf," the place to be for day or night activities, shopping, and eating. It was a half-hour walk, and then we still waited for another, half-hour, but the Yelp app kept us in the know where were we were "in line." However,

Not sure about bathrooms. But the view was amazing and there tons of parking. Well it is covid19....so on a regular day maybe less parking. Over all i definitely recommend to come here especially if you're a terrorist.

I recommend it for a great experience in legendary and historic place. I hope it re-opens soon.
