My boyfriend & I usually get the veggie platter and it NEVER disappoints. Great lunch option, if you want something filling and healthy!

Owner very rude argues with customers, follows them out of the store yelling, unprofessional and unkind.

Yum! Lamb Tibs is well flavored and the red lentil side is deliciously neutral and light. The best part is the gluten free injera- really deep and slightly tart pumpernickel flavor. It's also great with eggs the next morning.

It's been 4 years since I've been here and I still think about it to this day. Planning a trip to the city around coming back here.

I have eaten at both Tadu locations several times over the years and both offer delicious food. Prior to the location that opened in Mission Bay, I'd often order delivery from this location. For those unfamiliar with the area, it's not very appealing / safe-feeling, so be careful if walking around here. The food itself is very delicious. My favorite is usually the cabbage and potatoes. They have some interesting dishes with beets too. Overall, I've never had a bad experience with their food.

Totally blown away by this food. As a first time Ethiopian food taster, I was NOT disappointed. From being greeted to our dinner seat, to recommendations for vegetarians options, everything was wonderful. The service was attentive and the food was incredible: one things tasted better than the next! My friend and I shared the Lamb Tibs, with an appetizer order of the Beef Tibs in the centre. The platter had a little bit of each Side order and every bite was packed with flavour. The Misir Wot bread was a unique consistency and perfect for picking up bites of food -- no cutlery necessary! (Though available, if requested)

This place is great! Came here on a Friday night around 7pm, and had no problem ordering/ finding a table. They only have outdoor seating, so keep that in mind! For food we got the chicken tibs and then the meat combination. I really liked the chicken tibs- was saucy and flavorful! The meat combination was also great - the lamb and beef were both equally good as well. Make sure you order injera on the side to scoop everything up! For the veggies - I thought the collard greens were pretty standard, but loved the chickpeas!!

Ordered thru Doordash. [veggie combo] The shockingly small dollop of Gomen really diminished an otherwise satisfactory meal. I've never received such a small portion in any other restaurant & the sight of it placed alongside larger hunks of root veg made it look even more ridiculous. It definitely did not look the portions of others pics posted on yelp..but I'm also noting the inconsistency in their plating. I have a hard time imagining them serving this had I actually been at the restaurant. So it felt unaccountable of them. The gomen was watery & comprised basically of woody stems (like they may have been rationing out what was left in the bottom of the pot). The potatoes in the atkelt were barely cooked. * If the issue is prep management, it shouldn't come at the expense of the customer.

Was craving Ethiopian food and had been told about this place from a friend, well it did not disappoint! The food was phenomenal and delivered hot and fresh. I will definitely order from Tadu again I had the Special Kitfo and it was perfectly spicy and exactly what I was craving.

What makes people go back again and again to a specific restaurant is the taste, quality and consistency of the food first then of course the atmosphere and specially the customer service. As an Ethiopian, a chef and having been in the service industry of over 30 years, Tadu restaurants lacks all of the above. I have gone there several times and every single time the taste was completely different. They are not welcoming at all. A couple a weeks ago I had the BEST kitfo I ever had. I went back today craving it but it was completely different, not even close, tasteless... I'm so sorry but I don't think I will ever go back again. Oh and the potato from the veggie side that came with the BANATU was completely RAW, couldn't even bite it.

This place is CLOSED. They need to update their information because I was able to place a takeout order only to find a shuttered storefront when I went to pick up my food. Axum Cafe is better, anyway.

Their food is amazing but they are literally never opened? I’m guessing they are closing this location down.
