Great Japanese restaurant. We ordered Niku and Crab ramen and both tasted great. The appetizer was perfectly cooked and I really enjoyed the Kobe beef skewers. The place is a bit small so expect a wait if you come during busy hours.

came for happy hour, if you’re looking for don or ramen they have a lot to choose from. we were looking at smaller plates, everything was super delicious and fresh. calamari wasn’t overcooked, the scallops were so well dressed with a vinaigrette and fresh micro greens, pesto udon was a bit strong and greasy so i’d skip next time, and the kabocha croquette was sweet and battered fried.

Not sure where the idea of “authentic” comes from in some of the comments… the food is highkey overrated especially with its price.

Simple menu and or top elaborate. the basic curry and udons with ramen. Quality is hands down 5 stars. I usually check our ramen spots as you will see in my reviews and I wish I had more photos taken for the rest of them but this time I got a photo in for these guys. I ordered the Hotate Miso and added some Chasu pork ahhhhhh mazing!!!!! Definitely recommend especially if the one 2 blocks away is always packed. which is my go to btw- but this one hands down In definitely coming back and looking forward to trying the beef ramen. Thanks guys!

Found this place on Yelp and gotta check it out. Because of the high reviews. The restaurant located close to the van ness. No parking around but if you take bus or app, would be much easier. The restaurant very nice and clean. The service was nice. I went there early so there were no any customers. And they have happy hour menu . And if you check in , they offer you sake also. Got 2 glasses of plum wine, both of them were very nice but the sparkling one was more flavorful. We ordered appetizers, gyoza and hamachi carpaccio. And 2 bowls of ramen. Niku ramen and Hokkaido miso. The food came , first one was the gyoza : nice and crispy, the sauce honey mustard was good, gives nice sweetness flavor. Hamachi carpaccio was my favorite, it didn't came like I expected. Usually would be a thin slice of fish but this one they cut it like sashimi, the avocado was fresh , salad and yuzu kosho ( citrus chili paste ) on the side was complete the dish. The sauce with a hint of truffle. Really great dish and would come back for that. Niku ramen : the noodles was normal. Really similar to many places. Beef was juicy nice charred on it, wish the onions were cook a little more so they are softer. The egg cooked perfectly but the broth was really light for the beef flavor. It kinda reminds me of sukiyaki but very very light. Hokkaido miso : beautiful bowl of ramen. The noodles were the same as Niku . The chashu was really nice and tender but the outside was fried, which give nice flavor, I didn't like the mushroom though , give strong aroma to the broth. Both of the ramen were decent , I will definitely go back to try other ramen on their menu. I think this place is good as the reviews, I wanna try again and probably order more of drinking food. Like yakitori and other appetizers.

Cute Japanese spot that tastes authentic. The waitresses were all very nice and helpful. For appetizers, we got Hokkaido carpaccio, miso Tara, and takoyaki balls. Every item was delicious! For mains, we got spicy crab ramen and midori udon. Spicy crab ramen was very flavorful with good noodle texture. The midori ramen was different than what I normally order at a Japanese restaurant but it was still good. It was a dry udon stir fry with creamy herb sauce and sooo much scallops. I also tried the mushroom skewer and the sauce and flavor was good. I need to return and try other dishes!

Alright, so Taniku - it's like a food adventure with some highs and a few meh moments, landing it a cool 4/5 from me. The black pepper chicken is a flavor bomb, perfect if you're into that spicy goodness. But then, the Hokkaido miso ramen kinda left me craving more depth, you know? Now, onto the skewers - the pork belly and pork cheek ones are the real MVPs here. A combo of textures and flavors that'll make your taste buds do a happy dance. Oh, and shoutout to Taniku for the Yelp check-in bonus - they throw in a free house sake. Nice move, adds a little extra vibe to the whole dining scene. Big ups to the servers too. Super on point, knew the menu like the back of their hand. They practically guided me through the whole foodie experience. Only gripe? Parking. Ugh, it's a bit of a struggle with just street parking. Like, seriously, Taniku, help a hungry person out with some parking hacks! In a nutshell, Taniku's got its hits - killer skewers, spicy chicken - and a couple of misses, especially in the ramen department. It's a decent 4/5, but just be ready to play the street parking game.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: Casual with authentic Izakaya vibes and Japanese decor Ordered the Niku Ramen, Ba Ra and Kobe skewer. The Niku was a 4/5 for me. I may have liked the miso broth more, but still good. The Ba Ra and Kobe skewers are what really elevated the experience for me. Ba Ra was so tender with great grilled flavor. Kobe was nicely medium rare and had a nice marinade. Definitely order the Ba Ra. Will come back again!

Honestly!!! There's very few businesses I have to stop WHAT I'M DOING!!!! To actually take the time and rate them! UNLESSSSS..... I'm pissed TF off and it's a not so good review. I just stopped FN EATING. AGAIN I SAY EATING!!!! Which is VERY CRUCIAL!!! SEEING THAT I ordered to go. And had to take my time to finish my sake & beer while my TOGO FOOD.... SAT ON THE TABLE... for about 10 mins. Before I got in my car and drove home, to even sit in my car, (to finish building my appetite). This is my new #1 RAMEN SPOT!!! HANDS DOWN!!! This reminded me of being in LA. With my like 4 ramen spots there. So whoever left that review about "not wanting to go to the TL!" (BOOO FN WHO!!!) (1) I parked right in front (2) I ordered to go (3) I WAITED TO MY FOOD!!! (4) I STOPPED EATING!!! To write this review, (with only 1 bite so far). (5) THIS IS A DETAILED REVIEW!!! So whoever said they weren't impressed with "ANY OF" their RAMENS!!! BULL FN SH!T!!!! The main reason that PHYSICALLY FN IMPOSSIBLE!!!! This is the best FN NOODLES, (ALONE), I've ever experienced in a Bowl of Ramen!!! I swear! The first time I'm like F*** the MEAT, (protein), give me the NOODLES & the broth!!!! I FOUGHT THROUGH a MOUNTAIN of meat to find the noodles AFTER pouring my broth.... And what a FN TREASURE!!! The noodles alone, hands down! A MUST TRY!!! MUCH THANKS TO THE LADY WHO WORKS THERE, WHO RECOMMENDED THE "NIKU!" GOD SEND at the PERFECT TIME of the crossroads of "Hunger," "Craving" & "Appetite" meet! THANK YOU!!! Oh and customer service... AMAZING! AND!!!! THEY HAVE A HAPPY HOUR WITH CHEAPER PRICING ON THE RAMEN, (when you dine in). I really didn't care. And Fa damn sho! DON'T REGRET IT!
