I am very disappointed at the supposed manager. My girlfriend went to American grilled cheese on Saturday 3/16/2024. She was in a very long line to use the restroom and wash her hands before ordering for over 5 minutes A employee who said he was the manager told her she had to order something before she could wait in line to use the restroom. She said she would order a coffee right now if she had too so she could stay in line. The employee said no you had to get out of line for the bathroom. A customer at the counter ordering their food said they would purchase a coffee for my girlfriend. The manager then said no that she needed to leave. So my girlfriend left as requested. My girlfriend said the employee was looking at her shirt and did not say anything to other female’s waiting to use the restroom. My girlfriend was wearing a local 8 Union Elevator Constructor’s green shirt for Saint Patrick’s day parade we were going to participate in 30 minutes after this event occurred. We fell this employee had a personal issue or dislike of unions. So he refused service or the use of the restroom. I hope this review will discourage other trade unions from going to this business. I would like to hear from the company owner.

The date was 3/16/2024Went in to get some chocolate chip cookies. The cookies were great and all but what made me very uncomfortable was that a lady who really had to go to the bathroom was told to leave if she wasn’t going to buy anything, a couple of young soccer players offered to buy her something in order to use the bathroom and the manager turned it down and told her to get out. She was not homeless and refused in a very rude way.

I just had the most horrible experience ever! In the area for St Patrick’s day parade. I walked in to use restroom and then grab a bite. After 5 minutes of being in line the manager at the register said i needed to get out of line and buy something. I asked if I could purchase something and keep my place in line. Very rudely, with complete power trip, he said no. A young man who was ordering offered to buy me coffee. The cashier/ manager refused and then said I couldn’t purchase anything or use bathroom. Never have I encountered such a horrible human being. So sad that there are people like that.

Earlier today I had the most horrible experience ever! I was in the area for St Patrick's day parade, walked in to use restroom and then grab a bite. After 5 minutes of being in line the cashier/manager who was at the register looked at me (specifically my Union shirt) and said I needed to get out of line and had to buy something to use restroom. I asked if I could purchase something and keep my place in line because I really needed to use the restroom badly. Very rudely, with complete power trip, he said no. A young man who was ordering offered to buy me coffee so that I could stay in line, I could see he felt bad. The cashier/ manager refused, told the young man he couldn't buy me anything and then told me I couldn't purchase anything or use bathroom and to leave. Never have I encountered such a horrible human being or been treated so inhumanely with such disrespect. I literally walked out in tears. So sad that there are people like that in this world AND working in service industry.

Just a small spot I have visited for something like 8-10 years. I juat dont think everyone would like chopped up pickles in the sourkraut. Im not big on all these new ways of preparing old dishes/sandwiches/etc....btw I love the mousetrap sandwich.Parking: Limited in this area to street parking

The sandwich was ok. Completely unremarkable.Well, notably, it was not a grilled sandwich - which I was disappointed to learn when the sandwich arrived. I take partial responsibility for not asking, but the moral of the story is: don't assume that all sandwiches are grilled. If you want a grilled sandwich, then make sure to ask the staff explicitly.

I came here pre-pandemic for a UC Berkeley Haas MBA program happy hour event for prospective students and admissions officers, and finally went back recently years ago. I like the San Francisco-ish decor--the walls are fun to look at. They have a pretty good takeout business because there's quite a few offices in South Beach. I enjoyed my grilled cheese and tomato soup, and the chocolate chip cookie was also quite good. Lots of bike parking and car parking as well. Service is kind.

A menu stacked with grilled cheese equals me, drooling. Even the simple Mouse Trap delights the taste buds... crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I add a little of their Tapatio to it. Every time I go, the service is fine, and food comes out with the quickness. You order at the counter once you enter; there's some seating inside and more outside. Or, grab it to go. Add a lemonade to the order, and maybe some mac'n'cheese. It's all good.

THE WORST RESTAURANT IN THE CITY! RUDE PEOPLE WORK HERE, WHO DO NOT RESPECT THEMSELVES AND CUSTOMERS!!! This afternoon I came to this restaurant to drink coffee and go to the toilet. The lady behind the bar stood with her back to the visitors. I saw the toilet door and headed there. The door is in public access, but it turns out to have a sign that it is not a public toilet. It turns out that a bar client has no right to go to their toilet!!! When I went out, the lady who was standing with her back to the restaurant visitors in a rough form read me a notation: "next time ASK PERMISSION TO GO TO THE TOILET (!!!!!!)" Whether it is necessary to ask for it on your knees, the lady did not specify. Guys, if you are too lazy to wash toilets after visitors, why do you need a restaurant? Lock the restaurant and your favorite toilet. I won’t set my foot there anymore. Don't go to this restaurant!

Love the Reuben, ambience and staff! Close by Oracle Park. They have local beer on tap from 21st Amendment, great music playing, bars w/ the great stools we all sat on in high school shop class and picnic tables outside.

We were really looking forward to their grilled cheese sandwiches. We ordered their mousetrap and their bbq mac and cheese grilled cheese sandwiches. The mousetrap is their most basic option offering 3 different kind of cheese. Felt like there should’ve been cheese oozing out from every bite but that was not the case. They could’ve also grilled the sandwich a bit longer for that good texture. The bbq mac and cheese sandwich didn’t save the day for us either. The bbq itself was tender and fell apart nicely but the flavors weren’t there. The amount of bbq was also disappointing. I do recommend using the bbq sauce they provide to add a little extra flavor. It’s definitely a place to try at least once and make the call yourself.Don’t want to end this on a bad note so here are the goods we observed! Their pickles are good (well I’m biased cuz I love pickles). They have a good amount of food options. Parking is available next to the restaurant for those who didn’t walk here. It’s right across from 21st amendment but their beer is also available on tap. Good amount of outdoor seatings which help dog owners. It’s also super close to Oracle Park.
