We enjoyed our lunch at Garden Court. The service was excellent, the food delicious, with a great ambience, as always. I love that the glass dome and crystal chandeliers are still there, tough I miss the palm trees.
We stayed at the Palace the other night and I wanted to relive one of my favorite birthdays when my now husband invited me for high tea. The venue is a gorgeous as ever. Unfortunately, this is where it ends. The high tea is quite expensive. For the price you get "ok" food. Rather than the traditional English tea sandwiches (think cucumber or egg), we got "Irish" bites which were not very tasty. (It was the day before St Patrick's Day.) We've eaten here a few times for some great breakfast, but finally decided to try the Signature Tea service. It was, without a doubt, the best afternoon tea we've ever had. Every item served was delicious, with incredible amounts of flavor for what they were on paper. We were really blown away by how good it was, and felt like it was definitely worth the experience despite the high cost.
