If you want to experience Istanbul as a tourist in SF, this is your place. This was truly and authentic Istanbul experience. Hear me out.Istanbul is full of tourist traps, restaurants and entertainment places created with no taste and authenticity. These are set up for passing tourists and not for repeat customers. Petra is one such place in SF.We went there because we saw a poster "Belly dancing nights, every Saturday 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm". Nothing more. Naturally we took that at face value and turned up at the place by 8:30 pm. We asked them when the "show" begins and they said 8:30 pm, it should begin shortly. We ordered some food and beer, which was below average (refer back to made for passing tourists). I felt bloated for 2 days. It's 9:15 pm and no sign of a belly dancer. We waited, at this point we accepted that we had been bamboozled. Regardless, by 9:30, the "show" began. What is this "show"? It's what they call a "talent show". Random people performing — a child sang, somebody did a standup comedy sketch (2/10), 2 people rapped (2/10), and so on. The sound system was so bad, nothing was audible in the tiny space. We did ask, what about the poster outside. At this point it's around 10 pm. They said the belly dancer will perform for 10-15 min towards the end of the "talent show". We left and laughed at ourselves, a lot. We fell into a tourist trap in our city.Like I said, bamboozled. If that's the experience you're looking for, this is your place. The staff and service was super nice though.

As much as I want to support new Araby spots, I was disappointed here. I don't think they know what they want to be, a shawarma spot, a family dining spot, an ice cream shop, a sports bar, a culture dinner/show spot, pick a theme and stick with it, please.I would advise them against being a shawarma spot because they don't know what that is. Seriously, the chicken was sauteed pieces with lots of seasoning. My friends lamb shawarma was inedible. Falafel was a bit dry but the fries were crispy good. The service folks were nice but they had zero clue about the menu, bill split, or even plate serving. They need a minimum to figure themselves out, and I wish them luck in doing so, seriously.

I'd really have liked them to succeed since Hawker Fare was one of my favorite places, and tbh valencia could do with more new openings vs restaurants shutting down. Unfortunately nothing here was good. - The gyro was over fried, chewy, and flavorless. And not even a gyro - it was chunks of meat that had clearly been overcooked and under marinated. - The clearly-reheated-frozen fries were limp and insipid and cold. - The wine was unpalatable - The pita was similarly tasteless / cold. - The tzatziki and hummus were passable. Atleast the server was cheerful?

Valencia is home to so much amazing food, taking a moment to appreciate it all can be overwhelming and we can get so lost in our favorites, we can look past new spots all the time! Petra is new and amazing. With an amazingly large dining room loaded with call backs to one of the wonders of the world Petra, the energy is phenomenal, and can only be matched by its food! The menu is filled with classics, but the best part is the portion size! You'll be full before your main comes up if you're not ready! The quality is just as high! With a reasonable wait time to get my food, friendly faces, and some of my favorites like a fantastic hummus plate, and incredible fries I highly recommend Petra to everyone!! I liked the knafeh a lot, but their baklava is amazing! And if you aren't feeling adventurous there's a Mitchell's ice cream attached! It's amazing!

Regulinchi. The Lamb kebab was a disappointment, the lamb tasted like nothing. Quite disappointing for the price they charge. It was cold in the place. The service is friendly but I wouldn't recommend it, there are many Mediterranean food places with more flavor and better prices.

Petra Mediterranean occupies the former space of the restaurant Hawker Fare but is now decorated with giant murals depicting the archaeological site of Petra. From the small menu of Mediterranean eats, I tried the Chicken Shawarma Plate, which came with hummus, tzatziki, pickles, garlic tahini, and soft slices of pita bread. The chicken shawarma was made of slices of grilled dark meat chicken (not the traditional shawarma carved from a spit), and the meat was barely spiced and seasoned. While I've definitely had better and more authentic Mediterranean food, the service here was amazing, and another highlight was the Mitchell's ice cream bar out front, where the friendly and personable server gave us sample after sample before dishing out scoops of Pistachio, Black Walnut, and Grasshopper Pie (mint ice cream with fudge, chocolate chips, and Oreos).

Definitely stop by here for food followed by ice cream. The honey cake is also amazing.

We had an event for 25 people. We tried almost everything on the menu. My favorite was the Salmon. My wife loved the chicken wings with the 5 sauces. Another favorite was the red curry Mac n Cheese. It was a Wednesday night and the resultant did not have a lot of people, it felt like we had a place to ourselves. I highly recommend it as a casual hang out with good food and a nice vibe.
