My daughter, Wesley Straton, writes on bars and bartenders; I have been to highly rated bars all over the world in her company. Awoke late from exhausting day, found very few "good" restaurants open after 830 pm in Union Square area. The Mortimer was literally down the street and did not disappoint! Awesome bartender waited on us as we sat at the bar. Ordered salad with New York Steak my wife ordered salmon. Both of us were very happy with our meals and service.

I was staying at the hotel here and me and my sister came down for something to eat. It wasn't great, the fries weren't cooked all the way through and the pizza was okay. But the people that work down there are nice and to be honest, I'd probably eat there again if I stayed at that hotel in the future. They have a lot of different options for a hotel restaurant!
