The Old Clam House is back! The food was so delicious—clean, fresh, scrumptious (shout out to the oysters)—service could not have been warmer or more attentive, and the expanded menu has something for everyone. Going back soon for sure.

My Brother in laws are raving about this place and it did not disappoint! Plenty of seafood to choose from. They were mouthwatering and aromatic. They insist on us getting the escargot. The bomb! Excellent service and comfortable ambiance. Definitely a must go place!

The staff were friendly. The decorations were eloquent and the food was delicious! Will definitely return to try out the rest of the menus.

This place is an amazing gem hidden on Bayshore.. The classic shots are amazing. I ordered the risotto and my God it was filled with so much yummy seafood and a lobster. Hands down for the warm bread and butter service.

Just wanted to share my thoughts on the restaurant we went to recently. Honestly, not too impressed with the drinks and appetizers. My apple martini was missing its garnish, and the oysters tasted pretty watery, probably because they've been frozen for too long. The fritto calamari and friends were alright, but the steamed mussels were just terrible--the smell was unbearable. Might want to reconsider going there next time.

heavy on the butter and salt. claim to fame oldest continuous CA restaurant 160+ years with a remodel but no parking. pasta items added from sister restaurant mona lisa. crab and asparagus saffron cream, rich on the cream overpowering crab topping. popular items like cioppino, linguine of the sea, garlic bread dipping in the clam escargot sauce, and salty fried seafood

We weren’t sure what to expect because we heard some mixed reviews but knew it had changed ownership fairly recently. It was amazing! We enjoyed every dish from the appetizers (saute of clams, clam chowder) to the mains (mixed combo seafood skillet, crab and asparagus spaghetti). We will definitely be recommending this restaurant to friends.

Outstanding old school restaurant! Moez the manager exceedingly competent. Two people we had martinis and rose wine and calamari and ribeye and grilled shrimp and chocolate lava dessert. Everything was great including price, service and environment. Will return!!

I've passed this place countless times over 65 years (!) but have never gone there, assuming that a restaurant even older than I am can't be that good, especially on Bayshore. But my sister-in-law recently went and recommended it, and the Google reviews were good, so my wife and I tried it this afternoon for lunch. And it wasn't just good — it was really, really good. I don't mean good as in high-end elite cutting edge SF restaurant (many of which we don't like anyway), but old fashioned really tasty food good. We had the risotto special, octopus carpaccio, and the house salad (also a great Arnold Palmer). All of it was scrumptious. The carpaccio was a real delight, the octopus very thinly sliced and tender, the dressing tangy but not too sour. This is a place to take out-of-towners to.Dietary restrictions: We tried the carpaccio and house salad partly because I'm on a low carb diet, and they were great choices.

So glad we made this quick stop before our flight back home. I appreciated the quick service since we were limited on time. We ordered the clam chowder bowl and the seafood with rice. Everything was delicious, including the complimentary clam broth. The only thing that I didn't like was the alley parking.

Made this quick stop before my flt back home and so thankful for the expedited service. They started us with clam juice. Yum! Clam chowder bowl was eaten within minutes by my kid. Lobster and calamari were so tender and delicious. Seafood was cooked well. The dish as a whole is a little salty for me but that's bc I'm Asian.

Places is still here, but I can't say the food is that great or well priced. I got the squid in pasta, which tasted good on the way down, but gave me an upset stomach about an hour later. I have a hunch it was the clams. Hopefully they don't actually use old clams at the old clam house. But the ambience is great though the prices are not.

We had a great lunch with enough to carry us through dinner! Wonderful atmosphere in what is San Francisco's oldest restaurant in its original location. First, a few tips, then I'll tell you how delicious the food was and how spectacular our server, Jose, was. If you book your reservation through Open Table, don't rely on it to convey food allergies to your server or the chef. Second, if you don't want to walk far on a week day or are worried about the neighborhood in the evening, park elsewhere and take Uber or Lyft. Jose was an amazing server--he accommodated our service dog (in training) and kindly brought her a large container of fresh water. He paced our meal perfectly and was attentive without being intrusive. He brought small glasses of hot clam broth to start--a perfect greeting on a cold, rainy day. We had oysters on the half shell that were so fresh! We could have made a meal of just raw oysters and been happy as a clam ;). Then, fried calamari, which was excellent and not at all greasy. It was fresh and abundant. My husband had cioppino, which was brimming with giant shrimp, clams, mussels, calamari, fish, in a tomato white wine broth that complimented the seafood but did not over power it with garlic. I had the crab Louis -- towering with fresh crab, cherry tomatoes, avocado, and olives. Jose kindly substituted blue cheese dressing on the side for me and placed the hard boiled egg on the side, as I'm allergic (but my dog was delighted). We highly recommend going! This was one of the best meals we've ever had.
