The best sandwich in the city and maybe the West coast. I've been coming here for 25 years and will never miss it anytime I'm in the city. Love this place and the family that owns it.

Some of the best sandwiches in the Sunset! Love the hot pastrami and Italian combo. Delicious bread and spicy peppers. Once you try their sandwiches you’ll want to go back for another!

I've been here a handful of times and every sandwich I've gotten has been delicious. Go for the American special if you like a turkey ham. A family owned spot that always gives me top tier service, asking about my day and making sure I leave a satisfied customer. Feels like a trip back to another era, almost can't describe the vibe of this place. oh and yea its cash only so theres that, atm down the street though! Def give this place a try if you like a damn good wich.

A staple after a late morning doctor's appointment at UCSF Parnassus, Yellow Submarine is consistently a good deal, a good atmosphere, and a good sandwich. Nothing fancy and cash-only, this spot satisfies a craving (and then some), and it's run by a nice family(?) who keep things precisely as they should be.

Bring your cash (it's cash-only) and come get these sandwiches!! I've never had a bad experience here. This is a truly authentic, local, family-run place worth supporting. Rami and his brother are great owners, they'll take care of you. The sandwiches are made with love and you can experience it in the flavors. I love the hot pastrami especially. And make sure to get the homemade hot sauce!

The subs are unrivaled anywhere else. Food quality is amazing, portions are generous, and there’s plenty of seating should you wish to dine in. It’s an extremely well-run yet warm and welcoming family-owned business. The Yellow Submarine has been a San Francisco staple for decades and is well worth a visit, whether you’re a local or a visitor!Note: it’s cash only so come prepared.

Delicious sandwiches , very very fulfilling . Huge sandwiches that are worth the price . Also I think it's family owned since I heard his Yama working there . Tried to say hello in Arabic but they were very busy . Regardless sandwiches were amazing !!!

What a gem!! 1st family trip ever to SF and because it was Beatles Sunday, we stopped. So glad we did!! Steak& Cheese , Italian combo and fries. If you are in SF absolutely do NOT miss this gem of a sandwich shop!!

Great little cash-only sandwich shop with a fairly large casual seating area. The king of this place is the bread. Their bread has that Philadelphia/Boston style that has a sort of film to it that makes it chewy while crispy and stick to your mouth. It's terrific. Sandwiches are large and reasonably priced (15-18 bucks) for San Francisco with an array of condiments and cheeses to choose from. The guy behind the counter was friendly and helpful, wonderful service. Only downside is the dining space if you want to eat in is a little dingy, but it's got character. Plan to visit again!

Really good food and good people.I got the pastrami expecting the general derivation of something you could get at Togos. Boy was I wrong. A nice toasted roll, delicious pastrami, and was that a healthy portion of caramelized onions? Yes please. Absolutely delicious. 10/10

One of my favorite sandwich joints in San Francisco, Yellow Sub has been an Inner Sunset institution for decades. This family owned place has been cranking out hot and cold subs with the same consistency ever since I started coming here in the 80’s. The Hot Pastrami, laced with mustard and Swiss, will always be my favorite sub at YS. Don’t sleep on the steak and Turkey options as well. The house chips are thicker than normal potato slices fried to order. Service is fine. The ladies who ran YS I’ve the years have passed the reins to the next generation and it hasn’t missed a beat. Parking isn’t always easy in this corridor but no worries. Find a spot and get in line.

I heard really good things about this place, and was honestly kind of disappointed with the quality of sandwich I received. I got a turkey with provolone and some veggies, and I have to say it wasn't very tasty unfortunately, but they do give you a huge portion which is nice. The service was nice and welcoming and I'm willing to try it again another day and see how it goes.

This is our weekly Sunday go to. I love the Italian combo, my son loves the meatball. So yummy.
