Came here on Friday, after a movie (at AMC) for lunch. It's a short walk and the food is great! Much better than food court food. There's a nice traffic of what looks like regulars and no wait to be seated. The dining room has a nice cozy feel to it -- not spartan like some of the Vietnamese restaurants in Sunset. And it was very pleasantly nice to step into the cozy space. Waiter is friendly, though they seem thinly staffed so service was not very fast. We had: * Hue rolls for Appy: SO fresh, lovely bouncy rice wrap + the pork is amazingly flavored. Their Hue Roll is much better than their spring roll. The pork has an amazing smoky, rich flavor without being heavy. * Beef Bo: a little annoying that it costs extra if you want beef balls, tendons or trip, but it tasted really good. Really fresh ingredients and very satisfying. You may have to ask for the sprouts and hoisin sauce/Sirarcha. Ours came once we asked for it, but did not come by default. For me, the accompaniments (esp lime, sprouts, Thai basil and hoisin/sirarcha) really makes the Beef Bo for me SO do ask if you don't get it by default Love finding this restaurant! Tin now has 3 locations across SF, including one on Spear (which used to be called MAU), which is how I recognized to come here. Love the Tin food!! Specialty is the pork and the lemongrass chicken with rice is also super satisfying -- a little gingery & caramel-y. They really specialize in meats that have a bit of caramelization + a fresh take with an aromatic combo (like lemongrass, ginger, etc).

Great pho and wonderful spring rolls very filling and fast service. I love the way this place is setup small staff and no frills like it should be.

I ordered the grilled pork rice plate for takeout lunch. Placed the order online and went to pickup the food when it was ready via text. The taste of the pork was good but a little burnt, portions were pretty small. The pickled veggies were a nice touch but after spending $14 on the plate I was still very hungry. The restaurant seating was full so this place seems popular but if you're hungry this won't get the job done.

I can't believe I haven't posted a 5-star review yet, considering I've been a loyal fan of Tin for a decade. My family and I order takeout from them every week because their Vietnamese cuisine in SF is unmatched--fresh ingredients, personalized service, and consistently delicious dishes. Truly the best in town!

Cozy Vietnamese restauranted tucked away in downtown SF, this place is a good spot for casual Vietnamese food dining. I went during lunch time on a weekend and they were quite busy! Food: 3/5. I got the Pho Bo, the noodle soup with various beef slices and briskets. To be honest, the beef slices were a bit on the rough side -- a bit tough for my liking. The portion sizes are just right for someone with a small stomach like me. The bowl of pho is relatively cheap-ish compared to food in downtown (I wouldn't say it's super cheap). Next time, I hope to come back and try some banh mi because I've heard some rave ratings about the sandwiches here! Service: The waiter was super friendly and nice! They were a bit busy but once we ask for stuff they would get it to us swiftly. The vibes of the restaurant is quite modern, which gave me a Vietnamese American restaurant vibe.

Love the food here and the service was fast. The space was cosy, quiet and good for small group. - 5 spice quail was great, has the perfect texture. Sauce was a bit spicy but good - bun cha ha noi was really good. I like that it had more meat patty than normal - claypot catfish was ok - bun rieu was good - lemongrass chicken vermicelli was flavorful

The owner and staff are both very friendly. If you are worried about choosing a food, the owner will recommend food based on the customer's taste. The food is really satisfying and the price is reasonable. In particular, the owner's Korean skills are good, so it is recommended to Korean travelers.

I don't post reviews but I am disappointed. Rude, terrible service. I ordered thru their website and the food never showed up. I called and they said not their problem, they have 17 other tickets to fulfill so cancel. No way to cancel on their site once you place it.

Food, service, and atmosphere were all perfect. This is the most delicious Vietnamese food and the food I ate during my trip to the United States. The owner spoke in Korean and gave us various toppings. Banh Xeo was the most impressive. If you're in San Francisco, be sure to stop by!
